I want to get an Ipad for schoo/home. Cant decide which one

- Be able to type quickly
- Organize notes
- Access textbooks if needed
- STAY ORGANIZED
- 8 hour battery life (School day)
- Consistent internet access
- Be able to open assignments from teachers (Word, etc.)
- Send emails
- Send notes to home computer
- Type easily
- Open multiple sites at once
Any suggestions which model I should get?

I suggest a refurbished ipad2 64gb, specifically if you'll be using it for college.
My sons got netbooks for school two years ago. They had gotten excellent ratings. But they were very, very slow and didn't have a great battery life.
The MB Air would also be a great choice.
An ipad definitely cannot replace a laptop/desktop for your student needs. You cannot have MS Office or Excel on your ipad, and you'll need those for school. You can take notes on an ipad and transfer Word, etc. documents with apps like Pages. I don't know anyone who writes papers on ipads. There are many books, articles, pdf's, etc. that you can put in there or buy/rent electronically that will save you a lot of schlepping heavy books around. Many are required to get subscriptions to newspapers (at least in the business schools) and you can have all sent directly to your ipad and most also let you get them on your desktop or laptop. These will take up a good deal of your space.
My son got an ipad2 64gb before he started school (junior in college) a few weeks ago. He's used up about 22gb on mostly his music from ipod( about 3,000 songs!),lots of videos, and some apps for classes. He hasn't even downloaded any books or many games at all yet and I'm sure he will. We're glad he got the 64gb.The refurbished ipad 2 comes with a new outer shell, brand new battery, and full one year warranty from the Apple online store. It was $499.00, so, given the price, it was a simple decision to opt for a 64gb over 32gb ($399.)
If you're getting the new ipad, the apps will take up more space than previous ipads, and will add up in terms of used space. You'll also probably want music, movies, tv shows, etc. - more space.
You cannot add memory to your ipad, so I recommend getting as much as you can afford.

I'm not sure what the total limit is (or if there is one), but two iPads and one iPhone is no problem - you only need one account and you can have the same apps on all three devices if you want without any issues (I have an iPad, iPhone and iPod without problems). There was a thread a few weeks ago about a newspaper app (though it could have been a magazine), where the issue could only be downloaded to one device, but that is the only time I've heard about that limit.

Yes, they can play games - there are hundreds if not thousands of games available in the iTunes Store. Beware of the "free" games; many are free for the base game but charge for things like additional levels, "coins" etc. and those paid add-ons can add up quickly, to dozens or even in some cases hundreds of dollars. I'd strongly suggest you set up restrictions on the iPad to prevent your children from making unauthorized purchases. See:

You will need an Internet provider of some sort; Apple is not a provider and so the iPad does not include a data service. You can either use a home Internet connection with a WiFi access point (aka "router") or you can get an iPad with WiFi+Cellular and sign up for a data plan with a cell carrier. WiFi through a home Internet service will probably be cheaper.

Look, any officially unlocked GSM iPhone will work in India. You purchase from Dubai, no FaceTime, and Dubai is part of the UAE. You purchase anywhere but India, and you will have NO warranty or support. Frankly, doesn't make any sense to me why you want to do this...and don't bother telling me you save hundreds of dollars...still doesn't make any sense. Do a forum search here. We get posts daily, from users in India, who didn't purchase their iPhones in India...guess what? They all have problems. You want to join that bunch? It's your money, have at it.

Caveat to the above: books that have a lot of pictures or graphics can be quite large; many megabytes. If you can find out from your college program what books you'll need, check to see if 1) they're available; many textbook publishers have yet to provide textbooks as e-books and 2) if they are available (from one of the e-book providers; you can use Kindle, Nook and Google books on your iPad in addition to Apple's iBooks) how large they are. Then you can add the sizes up, figure out what else you might want on your iPad (movies, for instance, take up a lot of space) and determine what capacity you'll need. When it doubt, buy more capacity than you think you'll need; an iPad can't be expanded later if you run short.

You might want to consider the Apple online only certified refurbished store. Each ipad comes with a new front and back cover, a brand new battery, and a full one year warranty including 90 days of free phone support. You can get more space for a good price and you won't have to worry yet about it being obsolete soon. Shipping is free. If you go that route, you have to check the site here often. ipads come and go quickly there, so if you see what you want, buy it.
Like Kappy, I think the ipad 2 will be supported for at least another year, hopefully at least two. And if you consider an ipad 2, a 64 gb in the refurb store is only $70.00 more than a new ipad 2 16 gb. You'll have a lot more space and will have gotten more out of it before it becomes unsupported. We have refurbed ipad 2's for over a year and a half and they have been great.

To get the user's path to their Desktop is a two step process. First, you have to echo the %USERPROFILE% to a output file and secondly, read the directory from the output file in to Forms. The code would look similar to the following:

You can transfer iTunes purchases from the old iPod to your computer then sync the new iPod.
Connect the old iPod, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click File > Transfer Purchases From
Now connect the new iPod and sync Apps, Music, etc.
As for selling the old one tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
That will erase all personal data from the iPod.

This sounds like the age old problem with keychain & Safari. I don't know of a way to solve it without using something like 1Password.
The iOS app has it's own built in browser, so it has more control over what gets autofilled. Safari on OS X has an 1Password extension that handles account selection & autofill etc.
Keychain is great in principle, but it quickly falls down when you need tight integration with many ID's & different use cases (work, home etc).
I'd suggest you submit feedback to Apple about your thoughts. I did so years ago about this issue & this is how far we have come (back to the point where me.com synced passwords) :^)

Other tools like lastpass or keypassx may also help if you want to truly segregate password storage, but that doesn't fix autofill, the way around that issue is to dedicate one browser for work.

You can download both at the same time.
But you may wish to start off with one and use it full time, then download the other later, so you get the maximum possible time with both.

In one of the help pages for managing your Apple ID (http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40), it shows two separate sections, one for Apple ID and one for Primary Email address. When I go to manage my Apple ID, I see only a single section for both. Can the two be 'separated', especially when you face the situation of having to discontinue your email address for some reason?
I also noticed that when navigating to Apple ID Support Communities, it shows my nickname 'dishdy'. How and when did I insert this? In the current sequence for creating an Apple ID I don't see this. In my current profile I don't see this.
In any case, I have freed myself from my previous Apple ID (@artemis.it) on my iPhone.
