I want to highlight various words in a pages document with a yellow or black box behind the text

I want to use a highlighter in Pages. I know how to do it in steps.. but would like a shortcut to highlight various words throughout the document with a yellow or black box behind the text.. help

I got another idea. Create a style with the text and background colour you want. You can apply a short cut for that style. Beware that the styles is only for that particular document but you can import styles or you can use Save as Template and keep it as a template.

    When you installed Pages v5, it automatically moved the older Pages ’09 v4.3 into /Applications/iWork '09 folder. If you want normal comment interoperability, you are advised to resume using the older version of Pages. Newer, is certainly not better with Pages v5.

  • The Draft Word is behind the text in Purchase Order

    Hi All expert,
    Do you all have any idea about the watermark draft in SAP Business One 2007 Purchase Order.
    The Purchases Order with draft will display in the center of Purchases Order if the document is in draft.
    However, i found that the work 'draft' in the center of Purchase Order is behind the text. It means the word draft cannot display entire word in the document.
    If i want the 'draft' bring in front of the text. Mean it show entire words 'draft' instead of behind the text in the document.
    Can we be make it?
    Can we change the word 'draft' in the document?
    Regards,
    Eric Tan

    Hi Eric Tan,
    You cannot change the word DRAFT to anything else. Also you cannot make it appear in front of the text. As a workaround what you can do is Using the Document status you display on the header of the PLD you can display the DRAFT word or any other word as required. You can also format the field with font of big size and select color for it.
    Also you can disable the DRAFT word from being displayed in the PLD by configuring the settings in the Administration --> System Initialization --> Print Preference --> General Tab.
    Hopw this will help you.
    Regards
    Reno.

    Hi Sara!
    Yes this sounds interesting. Can I update to that from the PDF Export I have just renewed? How much would that cost?
    Thanks for your quick answer.

  • Is there a format for a file that I can use for attaching a one page document with photos embedded that will open in everyone's email automatically?   I've tried PDF and Word, but worked only in Mail.  Lost formatting when just copied and pasted in email.

    Is there a format for a file that I can use for attaching a one page document with photos embedded that will open in everyone's email automatically?   I've tried PDF and Word, but PDF worked only in Mail.  Word worked in nothing.  I also tried copying and pasting the document but lost all formatting when just copied and pasted in email.  Is there a way to do this?

    Are you sure PDF won't work? It should as what you're trying to do is pretty much what it is designed for (PDF - Portable Document Format). On a Mac anywone who receives the file should be able to see it in all its page layout glory by using the app Preview or Adobe Reader. Same on a PC, the file should be viewable as a PDF file using Adobe Reader and probably some other viewer (don't use PCs so not sure what other apps).
    What application are you creating the file in and are you sure you're exporting it correctly in PDF format, fonts and images embedded?

  • Import warning when sending Word version of Pages document as attachment in Mail

    when sending Word version of Pages document in email, says character borders not supported so were removed, so email didn't have all of the text of the Pages document

    Not that I know of. Would be less practical than the option coming from Pages -- everyone using Pages probably has some default email client, but far from everyone using Mail would have iWorks and Pages. So building in the feature to Mail not so practical.

  • I have updated to the new version of iPhoto but it will no longer let me edit text in the preset text boxes.  The text is highlighted for a nanosecond but will not stay highlighted so I can amend it.  Can anyone help me with this.  Many thanks.

    You might try using the add-on 'NoSquint' which allows numerous zoom options specific to each page you visit & keeps your settings - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/
    If you want to go back to 3.6x, you will find it here:
    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    In most cases you can simply "upgrade" (meaning downgrade) directly from the installation. It would be a good idea to save your passwords & bookmarks just to be on the safe side.

  • Export to WORD - what's with these boxes around the text?

    Post Author: Emily
    CA Forum: Exporting
    I am new to CR.  I am using version 10.0.0.533  We use CR with ClearQuest for problem reporting and other data collection.
    Rational (ClearQuest Vendor) tells me it's a CR X problem.
    I use a CR report exported to MS WORD as a template for taking meeting minutes.  With our old CR version, the ClearQuest export was great and I was able to add text into the report.  With CR X, the report in MS WORD comes out in text boxes and editting this output is not pretty.   I do not want the boxes, I just want free flowing text as if I had written a WORD doc so I can edit it easily during the meetings.  I have tried export to text, copy, paste but I loose all of the formatting.  I have tried HTML and then copy, paste, but this is even worse than the text output.  RTF also has the text in boxes.
    Someone out there MUST have run into this problem also.  Help me...

  • Any way to control which word a book page ends with, without have to play with tracking?

    Hi, there.
    I have a number of threaded text frames, and I want each text frame to end with a certain word.
    Example: "The cow jumped over the moon, and ate the cheese." I want page #1 to end with the word "jumped," page #2 to end with the word "moon," and page three to end with "cheese." I want all the frames to be the same size and all text to be the same size. The text will be justified.
    Do you have any ideas?
    Thank you very much

  • I want to print edited Pages documents with Comments written in margins, not yellow boxes

    Can anyone tell me a way to use Track Changes to edit a Pages document so my comments are printed in margins, not hidden in yellow boxes. I was able to do this on Word documents, but my students are now using Pages. Neither they nor I can see all comments unless we click to open them one at a time in Pages. We would like to see comments in the printed document as well as a line crossing out words I suggest as deletions.

    You are using the wrong application.
    Use Pages '09. Or continue using Word.

  • Putting Word Count in Pages Document

    Is there a way to insert a document's current word count directly into the body of the document? In other words, is there a way to do the equivalent of "Insert Page Number" or "Insert Page Count" for word count?

    Peter
    It's dificult to read page 307 in a guide containing 266 pages.
    On page 37 I may read how to view word count and other document statistics but,
    - I saw nothing about current weather
    - I saw nothing about a way to insert the word count in the document as it was asked by the OP
    As far as I know,
    we may insert page num, page count, date time, file name
    but we only
    may display word count.

  • When I save a Word document as a PDF file and open it, some of the boxes around the text don't show

    Hello,
    I currently have Abobe Reader X (10.1.2) on Windows 7 and I need to save a Word document currently in A3 as a PDF file to print in A4. For some documents I have no problem printing and all of the text, images, boxes, lines etc. all show up no problem, except for 2 documents where there is a problem. The document fits onto the screen perfectly.
    Please help! Thanks

    Reader is unable to create PDF files. You must be using some other product, and therefore should post your question in that product's forums.

  • Late Binding Word Automation creates a document with an unresponsive Ribbon

    I have a .NET ActiveX COM object that is calling Word and adding a template for processing. This template will get some data and then add in a layout template which will create the final document with the data and layout.
    When it is all said and done, the Word document has all the data, however, when the user tries to access the ribbon (click on one of the tabs or an item in the visible ribbon), nothing happens (like it is disabled).  You can click into the document
    itself and if the document has bolded text or something like that the ribbon changes to reflect the changes in font.
    The only way for the ribbon to become responsive is to either minimize and reshow Word or select another application and then back to Word.  This "unlocks" the ribbon and you can interact with it.
    I accidently left in a reference to Word 2010 when I was testing something and then the code I have worked.  I went back to late binding and removed the reference to Office 2010 and it does not work even though none of my code has changed.  The
    Word constants/enums I am using were already locally created and the methods I am using have the either no parameters or the appropriate parameters provided as far as I know.
    In the code snippet below, the line "officeApp.ActiveWindow.Activate()" is what worked with early binding to
    cause the ribbon to be responsive immediately and allow the use to interact with the ribbon with no additional steps.  With late binding nothing seems to work.
    Code snippet :
    Dim reportDocument As Object = Nothing
    Try
    officeApp = GetObject(, "Word.Application")
    usingExistingWord = True
    Catch exp As Exception
    'Not Ideal - would prefer not to rely on Exception handle to catch this
    If officeApp Is Nothing Then
    officeApp = CreateObject("Word.Application")
    End If
    End Try
    Try
    'Open process template
    templateDocument = officeApp.Documents.Add(Template:=ProcessTemplate)
    Catch exp As Exception
    Success = False
    If Not usingExistingWord Then
    officeApp = Nothing

    'The process template was not loaded/added properly, abort code
    If Not usingExistingWord Then
    officeApp.Quit()
    officeApp = Nothing
    End If
    Success = False
    Exit Sub
    End If
    'hide Word while the process template runs its code.
    officeApp.Visible = False
    Try
    officeApp.Run("RunReport", _parameters, reportDocument)
    Catch exp As Exception
    Success = False
    If officeApp IsNot Nothing Then
    If templateDocument IsNot Nothing Then
    templateDocument.Close(SaveChanges:=False)
    templateDocument = Nothing
    End If
    If Not usingExistingWord Then
    officeApp.Quit()
    End If
    officeApp = Nothing
    End If
    Throw exp
    End Try
    If Success Then
    Try
    If reportDocument IsNot Nothing Then
    reportDocument.Activate()
    End If
    officeApp.ActiveWindow.Activate()

    officeApp.ActiveWindow.ToggleRibbon()
    Catch ex As Exception
    End Try
    End If

    Hi gardmica,
    Thanks for the detail explaintation. However I still failed to reproduce the issue. Here is the code I tested:
    Public Class Class1
    Sub Main()
    Dim reportDocument As Object = Nothing
    Dim usingExistingWord As Boolean
    Dim officeApp As Object
    Dim templateDocument As Object
    Dim ProcessTemplate As String
    Dim Success As Boolean
    Dim c_wdDoNotSaveChanges As Boolean
    Success = True
    ProcessTemplate = "C:\Users\UserName\Desktop\ProcessAndLayoutTemplates\MailMerge Process XML.dot"
    Try
    officeApp = GetObject(, "Word.Application")
    usingExistingWord = True
    Catch exp As Exception
    'Not Ideal - would prefer not to rely on Exception handle to catch this
    If officeApp Is Nothing Then
    officeApp = CreateObject("Word.Application")
    End If
    End Try
    Try
    'Open process template
    templateDocument = officeApp.Documents.Add(Template:=ProcessTemplate)
    Catch exp As Exception
    Success = False
    If Not usingExistingWord Then
    officeApp = Nothing
    templateDocument = Nothing
    End If
    Throw exp
    End Try
    If templateDocument Is Nothing Then
    'The process template was not loaded/added properly, abort code
    If Not usingExistingWord Then
    officeApp.Quit()
    officeApp = Nothing
    End If
    Success = False
    Exit Sub
    End If
    'hide Word while the process template runs its code.
    officeApp.Visible = True
    Try
    'officeApp.Run("RunReport", _parameters, reportDocument)
    Catch exp As Exception
    Success = False
    If officeApp IsNot Nothing Then
    If templateDocument IsNot Nothing Then
    templateDocument.Close(SaveChanges:=False)
    templateDocument = Nothing
    End If
    If Not usingExistingWord Then
    officeApp.Quit()
    End If
    officeApp = Nothing
    End If
    Throw exp
    End Try
    If Success Then
    Try
    If reportDocument IsNot Nothing Then
    reportDocument.Activate()
    End If
    officeApp.ActiveWindow.Activate()
    officeApp.Activate()
    officeApp.ActiveWindow.ToggleRibbon()
    officeApp.ActiveWindow.ToggleRibbon()
    Catch ex As Exception
    End Try
    End If
    'Done - close the process template
    templateDocument.Close(SaveChanges:=c_wdDoNotSaveChanges)
    End Sub
    End Class
    Did I miss any step? Does the issue exist when you didn't run the "RunReport" macro?
    Also I notich that the template is working in a compatibilty mode, is it helpful that convert it via File->Info->Convert?
