  • Using own domain name on Business Catalyst / Muse

I have a 'complete plan' subscription to CC and I believe 5 free sites with Business Catalyst.
From checking this forum and FAQ it appears I should be able to link a domain name I currently own to a BC site so my URL drops the businesscatalyst.com element of the name. I have changed teh NS to ns1.worldsecuresystems.com  (and ns2 / ns3) and the next stage is to go to Site Settings and enter the doman name.
My problem is where do I find the menu Site Settings as I can not see it within Muse?
    Peter H

    Hi Peter
The settings to add the domain is not with Muse but in Business Catalyst domain settings.
You would need to publish the site first to Business Catalyst and then make the site live.
After performing the steps you can add the domain.

  • How to transfer exisitng domain names to business catalyst?

What are the requirements or what is the proccess to transfer exisitng domain names to business catalyst?
    Your input is much appreciated.
    FT

Business Catalyst does not have a domain hosting capabilities, so you can not transfer domains to BC.
If you would like to point a domain to BC though you either point the A-record or NS records to your BC site:

Follow these instructions to uninstall MacKeeper. They have been tested with the most recent version of MacKeeper. Earlier versions than the one released in 2012 require more extensive work to uninstall all its components. Never install such junk on a Mac.
If you actually used MacKeeper to alter your system, e.g. "remove excess binaries" or such, you will need to reinstall OS X as well as all your additional software. Uninstalling MacKeeper is insufficient to reverse the corruption it is capable of - once again, that is if you used it.
If you merely installed MacKeeper but did not use it to perform any particular action, the following instructions will suffice.
If you used MacKeeper to encrypt any files or folders, use MacKeeper to un-encrypt them first.
Quit the MacKeeper app if it is running.
Open your Applications folder: Using the Finder's Go menu, select Applications.
Drag the MacKeeper icon from your Applications folder (not the Dock) to the Trash.
You will be asked to authenticate (twice):
You do not need to provide a reason for uninstalling it:
Just click the Uninstall MacKeeper button. You will be asked to authenticate again.
After it uninstalls you may empty the Trash and restart your Mac. All that will remain is an inert log file that does nothing but occupy space on your hard disk.
May I suggest that you review the following setting in System Preferences?
Although you may easily override that setting, it will serve to protect you from inadvertently installing garbage. The overwhelming majority of Macs I come across have the MacKeeper installer file already present in their Downloads folder, often multiple copies of it. The downloaded file itself can do nothing until it is opened and installed, and the above setting (known as Gatekeeper - not to be confused with MacKeeper) will prevent that from occurring.
I wanted to know how to use my macbook retina to the best of its potential.
Never install any product that claims to "speed up", "clean up", "optimize", or "accelerate" your Mac. Without exception, they will do the opposite.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources. Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iTunes or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose. Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.
Java can be disabled in System Preferences.
Despite its name JavaScript is unrelated to Java. No malware can infect your Mac through JavaScript. It’s OK to leave it enabled.
Block browser popups: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > and check "Block popup windows":
Popup windows are useful and required for some websites, but popups have devolved to become a common means to deliver targeted advertising that you probably do not want.
Popups themselves cannot infect your Mac, but many contain resource-hungry code that will slow down Internet browsing.
If you ever see a popup indicating it detected registry errors, that your Mac is infected with some ick, or that you won some prize, it is 100% fraudulent. Ignore it.
Ignore hyperventilating popular media outlets that thrive by promoting fear and discord with entertainment products arrogantly presented as "news". Learn what real threats actually exist and how to arm yourself against them:
The most serious threat to your data security is phishing. To date, most of these attempts have been pathetic and are easily recognized, but that is likely to change in the future as criminals become more clever.
OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind.

  • I have just bought a car with bluetooth and want to know how to use my iphone with it

I bought a car with bluetooth facility and want to know how to use use iphone with it

First, you will need to navigate to the bluetooth interface in your car. Generally, this is something built into the navigation system/entertainment system. Look for an item that says either settings or communication, or bluetooth. If you are having trouble, refer to your car's manual. Next, go to settings, general, bluetooth and change the switch to on. Follow the onscreen instructions in your car until you see something like waiting for device or this is now discoverable or something like that. Your car or some sort of weird name should now appear under the devices list in the bluetooth settings. Now, the car should give you a passcode to type into the phone (it may or may not do this). Type this in and/or follow the rest of the onscreen instructions.

  • I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO USE ST05 AND ST30 AND AE30

just tell me quickly i m analyzng one program plz plz

First you should read a manual 'How to use an internet forum'! This would help you a lot:
+ you should not use Capitals, the is taken as shouting
+ you should ask questions one by one, and not all at once
+ you should never ask the same question twice
+ and should not write so demanding
Next task, learn to use the search, there are two blogs on the ST05 and SE30 under my name, it is not difficult to find them.
I don't think that you really need the ST30 for a start.

  • Want to know how to use Read/Write Functions

    Hi,
I wrote a program in labview 8.5 for motion control. The program is working properly but I need to make it more advance than it currently is. What the program does is read the amount of degrees that user inputs and converts it into itinerations using a "For Loop"; when the rotation is done, the program stops. What I need to do now, is to make the program know the last data that the program read (i.e. 40 degrees,  270 degrees, etc.), and use it as an initial value ("Read" that value when the program starts); if the total amount of degrees is less than 360 degrees, then the program runs; if, is greater than 360, the program reads an error.
    I attached the program bellow.
Thank you for all your help. If further information is needed, dont hesitate to ask. Thanks again.

Lets begin with passing your references and errors through the loop with shift registers.
We will only open the VISA reference once before entering the loop and close it when we leave the loop.
If you use a shift register to keep track of the number of degrees rotated, you can pass the data out to an upper level VI and then back to this VI when it is called.  If you are simply using this VI to do everything, you can pass the data back and forth using a feedback node or a local variable (Please see notes within the VI I have attached.)
Pleae look over the modified VI and verify that it will still work for your application.  You may need to add more functionality to get where you want to go; I think it is a good start.
I am using LabVIEW 8.6 and I saved it to LabVIEW 8.5.

  • Want to learn how to use "serializable"

    Hello, everyone!
I have never used "serializable" function of Java before. After reading API specification of java.sun.com and some tutorials of java.sun.com dealing with "serializable", I become more puzzled. I just want to know how to use the basic function of "serializable". Can anyone introduce me some basic tutorials or samples?
    Thanks in advance,
    George

The function of serializable is to be able to serialize an object to a stream. Operations include writing an object to file, or to a network socket connection.
That object can then be reconstructed from that file (or the reciever on the other end of a network socket can reconstruct the object.)
    Example
MyClass object = new MyClass() //MyClass implements Serializable
FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream("C:\test.file"); //create a fileoutputstream to write to a file
ObjectOutputStream out = new ObjectOutpuStream(fos); //an object outputstream to wrap the fileoutputstream
out.writeObject(object); //write the object to the fileReading the object is like this
FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream("C:\test.file"); // create a fileinputstream to read from a file
ObjectInputStream in = new ObjectInputStream(fis) // an ObjectinputStream to wrap the FileInputStream
MyClass object = (MyClass)in.readObject();Exception catch blocks are not included but you do have to catch IOException for reading and writing, plus a few other exceptions for reading. Consult the API for details.

  • How do you get domain names working?.

I've only attempted this once and never got it right either.
I want to be able to use my domain name to connect to my webserver on my linux box, I know BIND can be used for that.. but I have no idea what to do here.
I would need to setup name servers right?. Erm..

Who is providing your domain hosting?
I use fasthosts for mine, and they allow you use their nameservers for domain resolution.  All I needed to do was to find the IP address for my connection, and enter it into the control panel as the IP of my webserver.
This would be the easiest way to do it, as it saves you having to configure and manage your own nameservers.
