I want to know what happened to my ipod cause for exemple, when I turn on sometimes all the screen appears with lines and everything look like lines and I have to turn off again..

I want to know what happened to my ipod, cause after a while that it was off when I want to run in on it gets lines, like if that would be broken and I have to turn off again..

What generation is your iPod? My sister's 2g/3g(I'm not sure which) was doing something similar, but it would put a different graphic on the screen every time. We took it in to the apple store and they didn't determine what it was. One thing they said to try was to restore it and gradually add content on to see if it's an app or something loaded on it. If that doesn't work then they said it's probably something in the software or firmware. They gave her the option of getting one exactly like the one she had or getting the new one like I have. She ended up getting the new one on sale at target.

You did not ruin the phone, you will need a sim card to activate the phone and then connect the phone to itunes and do a restore from back up.

    Hello @Naufal ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand your notebook display is showing static but has been resolved with a reboot.
There really could be a lot of different reasons this has occured including a driver crash, hardware issues or a mild "hiccup."
If the issue has not returned I would not worry. If this is something that is reoccurring I would suggest updating the drivers for your graphics card. You can download HP drivers from this website: HP - Drivers & Downloads.
It would help to know which notebook you have and the operating system you are using. For information on finding your product and model numbers click here: How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? To see which version of Windows you are using click here: Which Windows operating system am I running?
If the issue persists let me know which notebook you have and the operating system so I can see what I can do for you.
Please click the "Kudos, Thumbs Up" at the bottom of this post if you want to say "Thanks" for helping!
Please click "Accept as Solution" if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

  • Mini died, had to reinstall OS X.  Want to know what happened.

I'm pretty sure that this is a Tiger problem, not a Mini problem. First, I'll give a short version, then a longer version for anybody who's interested.
SHORT VERSION: I was reading a web page with my Mac Mini, OS 10.4.11, using Firefox. The mouse cursor suddenly vanished, the keyboard wouldn't respond, not even command/opt/esc. After power cycling, I could not even log in. I tried every troubleshooting tip I could find in the Mini manual, and Mac Help on my MacBook. Details below, but nothing worked. I was able to start it in target disk mode. I used my MacBook to transfer essential files from the Mini to an external hard drive. Then I reinstalled OS 10.4.6 using Archive and install, and upgraded it to 10.4.11 again. Most things are working again; occasionally I run into a problem with a specific program and have to reinstall or re-configure. I'm using the Mini to type this.
I still want to understand what could have happened to cause this sudden crash. Probably "some kind of file corruption", but what could have made that happen, and happen so suddenly?
LONG VERSION: First, a little history. I've been getting little freezes on this computer for a couple of months now. Up to now, I've been able to unfreeze it by going into sleep mode (holding down power button for only a couple of seconds) and waking it up again. I have run Disk Utility verify and repair about once a month. It usually seems to find some inconsistencies in file names, hazy on details, and "repairs" them. Have not run fsck. I have been using the MacJanitor daily, weekly, and monthly checks; I know these can just be run from the command line too.
So the computer crashed as described above. The first time I tried to restart it (by power-cycling), it got to a login screen after about ten minutes, then froze for about twenty minutes before I got impatient and power-cycled it again. After that, it never even made it as far as the login screen. Every time, I gave it at least ten minutes to think it over.
I tried Mac safe mode, and gave that about twenty minutes to do something. It never got beyond the gray screen with the spinning progress disk.
As mentioned above, I opened it as a target disk, and used my laptop to backup files to a separate hard drive.
I knew that you could boot up from an install disk, but I missed the Mac help suggestion of running first aid from that disk until after I'd reinstalled the OS. So I missed a bet there, but I don't know if it would have clued me in to what had actually happened.
As mentioned earlier, I did an archive and install. I'm wondering if there might be some log files somewhere still on my hard drive that would give a clue as to what went wrong. Not really sure where, or for what, to look.
This whole sudden death thing has been very disturbing. I've had this computer for two years, and I'd like to be able to get at least another two out of it if I choose. I don't expect any OS to be perfect, but this shakes my faith in OS X a bit.
Rare though Mac viruses are, it occurred to me that I might be one of the rare unlucky ones. Since I didn't do a completely fresh install, if it were that, it could still be there. My Norton subscription expired, and it's been uninstalled. I've been using ClamX on the MacBook, but it won't scan the whole hard drive, you have to know where to look. So if I put ClamX, on the Mini, where would be a likely place to look for a virus?
I'm assuming that this was an OS rather than a hardware problem just because it was possible to restore, and everything is working again for now. System profiler seems to show all the hardware as it should be. If there are holes in that logic, it would be helpful to know.
I think that's about it. Thanks in advance to anyone with the patience to read through this mess.

A lot of things can cause corruption in disk directory data. And it can be a hardware problem with the hard drive, such as bad sectors. It can be caused if the computer ever lost power suddenly, like in a power outage, while it was writing data to the drive.
I still want to understand what could have happened to cause this sudden crash
As you said yourself, it was not actually "sudden." You were getting "little freezes" for a few months which progressively worsened.
Doing an +Archive and Install+ may not fix the problem, if Disk Utility still reports the problem when you do a +Repair Disk+ (while started up from another disk such as your installation disk). If it does not report the problem anymore, the problem was probably fixed.
A good way to stress test your hard drive and get rid of the problem (if it still exists), is to backup your personal data and erase the drive. But when you use Disk Utility to Erase (reformat) the drive, select the +Security Option+ to +zero out data+. This writes zeros to every sector. Bad sectors (if any) will be mapped out. If the hard drive has too many bad sectors or some other problem, this procedure will fail. Doing the +zero out data+ process takes time.
If it completes successfully, you should reinstall Mac OS X and your apps, and then restore your personal data.

  • I dont know what happens to my ipod

i have a ipod video of 30G and it was working well untill a few days ago that i start having problems with it....i was putting music on my ipod and after my ipod finish updating in itunes y see the screen of my ipod and the apple logo was there as if i had reset it but i dont but the problem is not that....the problem is that the ipod keeps reseting alone for many times and i cant see more than the ipod logo because after the ipod logo apears the ipod turn off and then the ipod logo appears again and that dont stop.....what can i do? im really worried please help me

This is a OS problem with your iPod. Thanks to the handy restore option, these problems are easily fixed. You see, if when the iPod starts the Apple Logo appears, and then it just keeps on appearing, then the software code that starts the OS (operating system) is corrupt.
I am sorry to say, the only way to repair this problem is to resotre your iPod.
This is not bad though, because as long as the music files are on the computer, you will not lose any files.
You will not have to do this once a month at all.
This probably happened in the first place because you unplugged your iPod while it was still in "Do Not Disconnect" (or Hard Disk) mode.
So restore your iPod and volia! Problem fixed.
    Good Luck

  • When I am using Facebook, all of a sudden with Firefox 4, everything is SO slow. This has happened before. I want the old version back.

Ever since I switched to Firefox 4, everything is slowing down! I hate this version. I want the old version back. I went to Facebook, it took so long to be able to do anything that I just gave up. This NEVER happened with the old version. I just want to get the old version back. I DO NOT LIKE this new version. Same kinds of problems I had once before when I tried it.

  • I have a 4th Gen. nano.  The screen is constantly disappearing.  It looks like a film behind the glass screen.  As it deteriorates, I can read less and less on the screen.  What is that called and can it be repaired?

I have a 4th generation nano.  The black screen behind the glass screen seems to be cracked and constantly disappearing.  It started in the corner and is working its way across the top of the screen.  The titles will disappear soon.  What do I need to have reapaired?

With the external screen connected and turned on, open the Displays pane in System Preferences. On the screen containing your menu bar, you should now see a Displays preference dialog box with an "Arrangement" tab in it. Click the Arrangement tab. Uncheck the box for "Mirror Displays," or make sure it is already unchecked. In the image within the preferences dialog box you should see two adjoining blue rectangles representing your two screens. A white bar on one representes the menu bar and indicates that that is the primary display. The larger rectangle represents your TV screen. If it's on the right side of the smaller rectangle representing your MBP's screen, then dragging a window off the right side of the built-in screen will move the window onto the TV.
Now open any application window — a web browser window, for example — and drag it by its title bar to move it off the edge of your built-in screen onto the TV screen. Got that? You can do the same thing with any other window, including a DVD Player or VLC window containing a movie that you want to watch.
Things to note: In this dual-display mode, which is called Extended Desktop mode, the menu bar and Dock will always appear on only one of the screens, and you can choose which one they appear on by dragging the white bar representing the menu bar from one rectangle to the other in the System Prefs > Displays > Arrangement tab. You can also set the resolutions of the two screens independently of each other. The highest available resolution on each screen will always provide the sharpest image.

  • I already restore my ipod and it doesnt work. On the screen appears: do not disconnect, its been like that for days. What do I need to do? (Its an ipod nano 3º Generation )

Thats my problem, I have tried to restore it like 6 times.

After restoring it, did you try to reset it? To reset the iPod, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • I need to know what kind of disk i need for my portege z835-sp3240L

I have an Portege z835-sp3240L Ultrabook and the SSD disk failed, so i need to replace it. I want to know what kind of disk i need (size, inches, etc) Please, can you give all the info about the disk. I live in Chile, so i can´t take it to a Toshiba repair place.

    Portege Z835-SP3240L
    Downloads here.
Essentially any capacity SATA disk that fits a laptop should do.
Best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. All the drivers and utilities are properly preinstalled. Windows is preactivated.
If you failed to create recovery media, you can obtain it from Toshiba. Scroll down to Get Recovery Media here. Toshiba in the US will ship to Chile (see this message).
For instructions, see the section Restoring from recovery media, which begins on p. 65 of the User's Guide.

If the disk uses advanced-format technology, see my message about that.

    Identifying iPod models
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.
