No. I tried it on my Time Machine (I had just made one change today, so I knew I would not be left in the lurch if I failed) and when I clicked on restore I got this message:
It seems you have several options.  I chose 'Keep Both'.  I suggest that you proceed with your search.
Ciao.

    Why does the Epson app for my iphone 4 show a folder that has been deleted from my camera roll for months now?

    Thanks @pdroth. I did a quick Google search of DB indexing. I'm not sure I found exactly what you were referring to but I see where you're going with it. I can understand that indexing my database of stored photos can be time consuming. It's frustrating that the space can't be recognized as being free more quickly.
    I notice that some items I delete seem to free up the space much more quickly. Removing an app entirely or deleting from my Music generally shows up as available space in Usage pretty quickly.
    Deleting a photo or video from the Camera Roll will take MUCH longer, so I guess that has something to do with the indexing process you are referring to.
    I'd like to point out that when I run out of space on an SD card on any budget point and click digital camera that I can quickly delete a picture or two and INSTANTLY be able to take a couple of new photos in their place. I guess I just have that same expectation for the $500+ engineering marvel I have in my hand right now.
    Thanks for chiming in.

  • Is there a way to get an app that has been deleted from the app store?

    Is there a way to get an app that has been deleted from the app store?

    Not unless the developer/Apple offer it again in the App store.  You can only get apps from the App store.

    Is there a way to retrieve a text message that has been deleted from my iphone?  I did't delete the message but after i synced my phone the message was gone.

    No, the app doesn't use Safari.  The app is AutoDesk Inventor Publisher Viewer.  I think there is a way that you can have a publish Inventor file, and if you create a correctly formatted hyperlink, you can click on it and it will immediately open the file in the viewer.
    I know that if you offer the file as a standard download, iOS will ask whether you want to open it with Inventor Pub. Viewer or save it to another app that can accept files.  I would prefer to skip the prompt, and just open the viewer.
    I've heard mention that this can be done with this application, but I can't find reference material anywhere.

  • I need to retrieve an email that has been deleted from my computer and iCloud, please help.

    My mail preferences were set to delete on iCloud after 30 days. How can I get a copy of an email that has been deleted ? I have changed the settings to never  now but that didn't bring any back. Thank you.

    No, not unless you have the email somewhere else as well. It's kind of the same thing with my devices, I delete an iMessage but if I search it in search it pops up, but I can't access it.

  • Is it possible to restore backup that has been deleted from the repository?

    Hi,
    with Rman 9i I do a full database backup including the current controlfile each night (with the catalog option). If the backup has been successful all backups older than 3 days are deleted (because of a lack of disk space).
    Now I have to restore a backup older than 3 days which can be written back to disk from tape.
    On disk there is a backup still available which is 2 days younger than the one I have to restore. That means in its controlfile the backup to be restored doesn't have the status DELETED yet.
    Can I restore this controlfile first, then resync my catalog and restore the old backup after the entry is back to the catalog ?
    How do I specify which controlfile and which backupset should be restored ?

    Hi ebrian,
    thank you for your quick answer.
    Just to be sure that I understand you right:
    I startup the database in nomount mode.
    Then I restore the controlfile from the backup which is 2 days younger than the one I have to restore because this controlfile contains the desired backup record with status "not deleted". Is that right ?
    Each of my backup consists of 3 backup pieces. How can I find out which of the pieces contains the controlfile ? Or can I try one after the other until it works ?
    After the controlfile is restored successfully I use the following commands to restore and recover the database:
    rman target=sys/<syspw>@target_db
    run {
    alter database mount;
    allocate channel c1 type disk;
    set until time '<point of time a little bit prior to the point of time of the backup to be restored>';
    restore database;
    recover database;
    release channel c1;
    open database resetlogs;
    exit;
    Because of the "resetlogs" I take a full backup of the database afterwards.
    For the future I intend to change the process of deleting backups as described below:
    * delete them from disk with operating system command not with the rman delete command
    * configure retention policy to recovery window of n days (n = number of days backups are preserved on tape)
    * start rman script each night: \\     allocate channel for maintenance device type disk; \\     delete obsolete; \\     release channel;
    Is it possible to restore each backup from tape if required with the procedure described ?
    One last question concerning the recovery:
    instead of the "set until time " before using the "restore database" command is it possible to specify a concrete backup to be restored (e.g. specifying the exact time it is taken or the backup piece numbers) ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Can you restore a user file that has been deleted from the home folder?

    Unfortunate series of events happened because of a wacky Mavericks install. I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

    If you have a backup, yes. If not, no - unless to get some data recovery software or service ($$) which may or may not be able to recover anything.

    I'm playing around with it to write a blog post and it is crazy. Only possible workaround (till now i'm not able to figure out a solution to it) is to copy the application and deploy it as a new one. Take copy of all objects (forms, tasklist etc). Delete the corrupted application and rename the new one to old.

  • I want to use icloud but i have a lot of music on itunes that has been downloaded from elsewhere on the internet. Will i be able to access this on icloud if it has not be bought through itunes?

    I want to use icloud but i have a lot of music on itunes that has been downloaded from elsewhere on the internet. Will i be able to access this on icloud if it has not be bought through itunes?

    Not on iCloud itself - what you need is 'iTunes Match' which seeks to find versions in the Store of songs you already have, and failing that allows you to upload your own copies. This will cost you $24.99 per year; it does not count towards your 5GB free iCloud space. Limit 25,000 songs (purchased songs do not count towards this limit). You will need iTunes 10.5.1 or later on your Mac or PC and iOS 5.0.1 or later on your iPhone 3GS or later, iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation), or iPad.
    Please see this page: http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/
    Also note that some people have found that when using this facility with songs which contain strong language, iTunes Match is substituting a cleaned-up version.

  • I'm trying to reset my ipod touch but for that i need to turn off find my ipod touch but i cant do that without entering my apple id password which is linked to an email that has been deleted help me please what do i do

    Okay so when I had a ipod touch 4 with ios 6 my apple id got hacked and they spent all my itunes credit bla blah blah. so i made a new apple id which was fine and was working. i recently upgraded to an ipod 5 so did my sister and i got ios 7and she just kept ios 6 then my ipod camera crapped out so i decided to back up my ipod first and switch with my litttle sister by erasing and restoring both of them. I erased my little sisters one and restored it to mine but it said to do that it needed to upgrade to io7 so i let it do its thing and then my ipod camera started working again (i hadnt erased mine) I then relised when i clicked back up to my ipod on my little sisters ipod i clicked the back up which was ages ago when i was using my ipod 4 and ios6 with my old apple id that i no longer use. now that i want to change her ipod back to her own one not with my old stuff on it. it is logged into the old apple id with the old email that we deleted and the old icloud account linked to the same old email account that is deleted. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------LONG STORY SHORT : I am trying to erase my sisters ipod so i can restore it back to normal but theres is an old apple id on it with an email account and icloud account that has been deleted. If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
    You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    Also
    If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.

    My itunes account was set up under an email account that has been deleted. I started a new i tunes account but have the same device as with the old account. How do i keep my music thats on my ipod touch from being deleted whin i sync it to itunes after purchasing new music?

    I have the same problem (deleted email account). I think I mistakenly set up an account when I was buying an Apple product online, not realizing that it would be the same ID as my iTunes.
    What is the way to actually contact Apple?
    I have been clicking around in circles for hours! Will I have to pay them to resolve this? I don't have any products still have applecare . . .
