What needs to be changed? Most details such as Date & Time can be set in System Preferences.

option discovered in preferences. Really this and any feature that moves deletes or edits a users data should as far as possible be OFF BY DEFAULT. It shouldn't by default and without the users specific say do this dangerous and unnecessary thing without even letting the user know what it's doing!!! And then cause me a few hours (as i'm new to mac) searching for the option so as to switch it off. If i hadn't noticed the status cage declaring that it was copying files then i might never have twigged that this insane thing was occurring. And if i hadn't of noticed i would have been left maintaining the contents of the folder i copied the files to, the folder which as far as i was informed and so believed was also the location of the music files i was playing. How does Apple justify this 'genius' piece of software non-design? Surely it will hurt no one if this was off by default for new users - overall at least i dare say it would cause a lot less distress in the future for the unsuspecting public at large. When I download files now, the files don't show up in the downloads. How can I fix this?

My download status bar has vanished. Anything I download does'nt show up anywhere. Still downloads files at times. Very frustrating.

I do a lot of reading, and when I summarize my comments, I like to save these comments in a larger document I compile over time. I typically create a comment summary, export it to a text editor and find myself having to delete author, date, time, page number, and anything else that is not the raw and net comment. It would save me some good time if someone showed me how to do this. The reason I do not want any additional information is because it simply adds stuff I do not need in my compilation of summaries for large amounts of papers over time.

What you're describing can't be achieved using the built-in comments summary function of Acrobat, but it can certainly be done if a custom-made script it used to generate the summary because then you're in full control of what's included in it and what's not.

If you import your still images using iPhoto, then the time you set for each still, using FCPX Perferences works.
You can set the durantion from 1 frame to as long as you want them view.
If you do not use iPhoto to import your stills, the default is 10 sec's.
FYI: This issue was brought up within a month after FCPX was released. They found out by using iPhoto, you had better control of the amount of time your still was viewed.

Did you import an iPhoto Library from the old Hard Drive? Do you still have that old Library?
The way to clear out a Library is to Export the photos - Apps like iPhoto2Disk or PhotoShare will help you export to a Folder tree matching your Events.
For the annoying start-up message:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.

You can't merge accounts, if you start using the gmail account for iCloud by logging out of the me ID in system preferences and back in using the gmail ID, you'll need to copy all your data in calendars etc to the gmail account. you also won't be able to use the me address for mail unless you add the me account as a secondary account at system preferences > mail, contacts and calendars.

You can't reformat it and not wipe everything on it.
Have you tried a different USB port?

You can't using Adobe Reader. It looks like whomever created the form used the same identifiers (names) for various fields. Each field with the same name will populate with the information used in another field of the same name. This is intentional.
Normally when I see this, it tells me that someone created an initial field then copy/pasted it to make additional fields but forgot to change the names.
