I want to use Boot Camp and windows 7 or 8, preferrably 7 to run a tax program that will only let me use explorer. I am using a Mac Book Pro with OSX Maverick 10.9. There are so many windows programs out there it is confusing which one I need. I don't think that I will need Office.

I would use Windows 7 any full version except the trial, or a branded Dell, HP, etc. versions

I believe to use iCloud you need to run at least Lion (10.7). (Only the Find My iPhone or Find My Mac parts of iCloud work with OS earlier than 10.7/Lion).

You have a Core 2 Duo. You can upgrade to 10.6 and then install Lion, or use the thumb drive approach mentioned above (thumb drive Lion costs about $70 I think). You need to check your RAM to see if you have enough.
Folks have reported that 4 GB RAM is really a minimum for a decent experience with Lion.
For Mountain Lion, see this ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5444 ) for what you need to have to install OS 10.8. I don't think you can use Mountain Lion (10.8) with your early 2008 Macbook. -

You only need the ODBC driver on each computer. If you are distributing the SQL Toolkit app as an executable and do not install the whole toolkit on each computer, you'll need the SQL Toolkit support files. This is about a dozen files. You should go onto the Tmobile web site and look around. Very soon a pop up window will ask you if you want to chat. You can try asking for someone who knows Spanish (if you prefer), they might have someone available who can chat with you in Spanish.
I give this suggestion because I remember on the Tmobile website, you can order on line, but they let you choose to pay only a little money up front, then pay off the rest over 24 months, or you can choose to pay for it in full. However, their ordering process does not say whether the paid for in full phone is going to be unlocked or not.
It may not be, You may have to make a request and say that since you have paid in full please unlock. I am not so sure that a paid for in full phone is automatically sold in unlocked state.
This is why I suggest you talk to Tmobile to get a definite answer.
Unless someone else on this forum knows for sure? Hope someone else jumps in to answer. But the best way is to ask for yourself directly from Tmobile. -
My Ipad says that i am running out of storage but my icloud says that ive only used 1.4gb of the 5 allotted and when i go to usage manage storage all my apps are turned t the on postpition for backup. So i dont nderstand why my ipads storage is being used
iCloud doesn't give you more storage on your device, it only gives you more storage in iCloud to sync data, store your backups, etc. If you're running out of space on your iPad you'll have to delete some data off your iPad to free it up, such as syncing some of your music or other media off your iPad.
You can check how much free space is available on your iPad by going to Settings>General>Usage and looking at the Available number at the top. -

There are a Couple of methods you can use for this.
Method 1 -
You can create an ini file and save a boolean Key "First Instance" as True. Now In your Program you read this Key, If it is True then you can show your ID Dialog VI.If False do not run the VI. At the Conclusion of Id Dialog you can update this registry enrty to False. So In effect you have created One time Event. In fact you can save ID as another Config entry.
The Drawback and advantage is that such an INI file can be edited by someone moderately knowledgeable about the Program
Method 2
Use Unitialized Shift Register in A while Loop. Please see LV2 style Globals entry under this forum. You can read and write to this Variable and it retains the Value it last had within it.
You can read
this Global the Very first time and say if it true you display your ID Vi. If False you dont. When you display your ID Vi you can Update your Global Like Before.

What is the best compressor setting to use for DVD StudioPro ... when exporting a 720p 30 timeline from FCP for a project that will only be viewed in a standard def monitor?
Update: The iBook can play any 480p video and higher if I encode them with DivX and in AVI format. But of course this is not compatible with my iPhone 4. At least I can shrink my library now and get away from the full MPEG-2s. I don't get why I can't use Apple's h264 though. There has to be a setting I am missing. The sample Apple h264 videos from the days of Tiger worked flawlessly on my iBook when it was new so the CPU must be capable of decoding it. I really can't understand this.
Also, since I made my videos in English for my family, I had to create soft subtitles for my wife's Chinese family, and I can't get players like QT with perian or MPlayerX to sync them properly to an AVI encoded with DivX, they only sync well with the iPhone 4 m4v/mp4 formatted files I made. This is a real pickle.
So now I may need three or four copies of each video, LOL. I need to hardcode the subtitles if I want to use AVI to playback on older machines, and keep the mp4 file for the iDevices too, while keeping higher quality h264 videos for my American relatives...
If h264 is compatible with my iBook, what is the proper encoding settings? Must I dramatically lower the settings or frame rate? I can settle on 2 copies of each video that way. One iBook/G4/eMac compatible video that syncs correctly with my srt soft subs, and another version that works well with my iPhone 4 and iPad.
All in all, I will end up with more than 3 or 4 version of each video. On my late G5 dual core I have the full 720-1080p uncompressed master files. On my i5 iMac I have the h264 compressed versions for distribution, and lower versions for my iDevices. Now I need to keep either full MPEG-2 files for the iBook to play, or convert to older formats like DivX AVI for our family's legacy machines. I am running out of hard disk space quick now, LOL.

I'm trying to put a swf file on a dvd that will autostart using OS X and Director MX. I imported one swf file that has nested movie clips.
Some of them play and some don't.
Any suggestions?The swf file runs fine on a computer. But now they want me to export it as a .mov and put it on a dvd that customers without computers can put in a tv/dvd player. They want it to auto start. When I export it as .mov, QuickTime only plays the first 20 seconds and not all of the nested movie clips play. They don't want it to play in a QuickTime player. Do I need to upgrade to QuickTime Pro? Any suggestions?Thanks

I tried some other chatting software and it gives me the same problem. However, the metro app camara is working perfectly fine. I have the latest driver and I also tried another webcam from logitech and it gives the same problem!!!!Most likely this is one of the registry keys that need to be modified. However, be very careful when you make any changes to your Registry Database. Make always a copy of this data base before making any changes, so you can always revert to the original settings if something will go wrong. The relevant keys are these that refer to Imaging devices. On my system I have 3 such devices: Logitech c920 webcam, LifeCam VX-5000 webcam and CanoScan LiDE 25 Scanner. The last is installed but not currently connected to the computer. You can make a search in your registry database using this item: imaging devices. For all the items I could find on my system, the main key of the type, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet00X\Control\Class\{6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F} was looking like this: There is neither LowerFilters nor UpperFilters value defined. You can open the subkeys of the type 0000, 0001, 0002, etc. and see what device they are referring to.

I can't open RAW files from new Sony Alpha a6000 camera in PSE 11 camera raw editor. Is there an update that will allow me to do this or do I need to always use DNG convertor?
You would need to update to PSE 12, or just keep using the DNG converter. Your camera requires ACR 8.4, which isn't compatible with PSE 11. It's also not compatible with PSE 12 if you are running Vista or XP.

Does anyone have trouble with the iPad booting you off of the internet? I will be in the middle of something (i.e. Facebook), and it boots me out and I have to sign in again.

Don't confuse the threads here with 'typical' experience. Most of the stuff here is from brand new users, and those that have problems, and considering the 30 million pads in use, represent a very small sliver.
If you are having repeated crashes it is really pretty basic. You either have a physical problem with your pad, or you are using too much memory.
The iOS system is supposed to monitor memory, and shut down previously used apps automatically to free up memory for what you are doing now. That part of ios is not perfect, and if an app introduces an unexpected memory load, sometimes it gets over whelmed.
This happens, more often than not, when using safari with multiple windows open on graphic intense sites. It can also happen with a memory intensive game, and residual apps in the background.
Double tap the home key and take a peek at the recently used list, and shut them down completely, and often the problem goes away.
If the problem persists, you may have a software issue, and a trip to the genius bar may be in order. -
Will Robo Form work with any of you new browsers? I am still running FF 3.6 and will only upgrade if RF works. I tried the browse after 3.62 and it did not support Robo form so I uninstalled it

Also, Firefox will work perfectly fine with XP SP2, but there is no reason why you shouldn't update XP to SP3 -

I can change all these settings but AE still does not accept my CPU´s.

Furthermore I thought my CPU could be the problem because it uses Hyperthreading Technology. I disabled Hyperthreading and After Effects told me that I only have four cores. This is absolutely correct. Nevertheless the amount of used Cores is still zero. I can not activate multiprocessing.
By the way I was really satisfied with the speed of AE without multiprocessing. I only had one problem. Sometimes I got the message:
"AE needs more than 2 frames to playback" I thought I can solve this problem by enabling multiprocessing.
I also tried purge--> all , which did not help
I also changed the cache folder of AE to an external device which did not help either.
I ALSO deinstalled my Comodo Internet Security because I read that some people could solve this problem with this
My question is: It is generally possible for me to activate multiprocessing with only 8 gb RAM?
