Your computer could possibly be running in selective startup mode where any nonessential services are disabled temporarily until a restart. 2nd day w/my ipad2. Have spent 5 hours trying to get my ipod music to play on the ipad..it has been downloaded and synced. When I click on itunes , I get a window that says "Apple mobile device service is not started." I get music symbol when click ipod

my iphone has not had problems with syncing to my computer. but when trying to sync today it wont. and my computer gives me a message that the phone cannot be used because the apple mobile device has not started. help?

Restart your computer. Run iTunes and check for updates. If there is a later version of iTunes available, download and install it. Then try again. If you still cannot see your iPad listed in iTunes make a list of all the things you have tried so that we can see exactly what steps you have taken.
