Please re-install iTunes. Error 7. Windows error 126". I now can't sync my iPhoneand I am worried that if I re-install I will lose all my contacts,calendar, notes, etc.
I too had this problems (Windows 8.1). A few weeks ago after the previous update before this version of itunes, I'd had a problem with the itunes store crashing and at that time I followed instructions to copy QTMovieWin.dll to the itunes folder, which fixed the store crashing.
Today I fixed the problem by:
Delete QTMovieWin.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes.
Uninstall ALL Apple Software using Control Panel / Programs and Features. I uninstalled:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Mobile Device Support
Apple Application Support
Apple Software Update
Bonjour
Delete the folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple
Restart the computer
Reinstall QuickTime
Reinstall iTunes
Everything works GREAT now, including the iTunes store. You will not lose your media files, I got everything back, all my settings, playlists, etc.

I installed Adobe 8.0 and keep getting the following message when I try to open it: Warning: you entered an invalid serial number in adobe 8.0. Please re install adobe under a valid serial number.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore. -

I have had the same problem for the past 10 days. The update fails about 75% of the way through and said that the there is an error in the download of 7.0.6. It has been unsuccessful. I tried to update through ITunes and the download finishes and nothing further happens. There is no error message number, just stating there is an error. I sure would like some help in resolving this problem. The update went just fine for my IPhone5S and my husband's IPhone 5.

ITunes Genius update fails every time.
Hello all. I'm having problems with itunes genius on my computer. No matter how many times I try to update genius, it fails at the end. It takes a few hours collecting my information, then sends it to Apple, then as it tries to deliver the results, it fails, saying iTunes Store is busy. I have tried on many occasions over the last few months, but to no avail. I used to use genius all the time, and I really hope somebody could help me fix this. I have tried many solutions, like reinstalling itunes, deleting library files, but to no avail.
A bit more information to help you solve this issue
I have a large itunes library, almost 2TB, approx 200,000 songs ( but I've been told this should not affect genius)
I am running itunes on 2 computers, both under the same login. I copy the music across to the second computer after uploading to itunes on the first (would running itunes on 2 separate computers affect genius)
Both computers are running Windows 7
I Really hope somebody, either through personal experience, or just technical know-how, can help me solve this problem. If not I may have to find a different music player, because genius is the only reason I stay with itunes. Thanks in anticipation.Hello, alfiepercy.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:

The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

The error 7 suggests you might also be getting a problem with your Apple Application Support as well as iTunes.
So let's try uninstalling both iTunes and Apple Application Suppport this time. When we reinstall iTunes, that should reinstall Apple Application Support as well. We'll take a few additional explicit precautions along the way too. Best to print these instructions out, because at one stage of proceedings you won't be able to use a web browser.
Preliminaries
Download and save a fresh iTunes installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install on line and don't start the iTunes install just yet.)

Now, quit QuickTime (if you have that open) and Safari 4.0.4 (if you have that installed and open). Both applications use Apple Application Support, and they will interfere with the uninstall if you have them open.
*Uninstall phase*
Head into your "Uninstall a Program" control panel. Uninstall iTunes. Uninstall Apple Application Support.
(From this point on until we reinstall Apple Application Support, neither QuickTime nor Safari 4.0.4 will be able to run.)
Next we'll remove any leftover program files and folders.
(1) Open "Local Disk (C:)" or whichever drive your program files are stored on.
(2) Open the "Program Files" folder.
(3) Right-click on the iTunes folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
(4) Open the "Common files" folder.
(5) Open the "Apple" folder.
(6) Right-click on the Apple Application Support folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
Now empty your Recycle Bin and restart the PC.
*Reinstall Phase*
After the PC restarts, do not open any other applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus and antispyware).
Now start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file you downloaded earlier.
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.

After multiple installations of iTunes it can be frustrating when the issue isnt resolved. I was able to locate the following knowledge base article that specifically addresses the "Error 7" you are recieving.

The Resolution section has different steps depending on what version of the Windows Operating System you're using. Since it can be a bad installation of these Windows files, pay close attention to the instructions on repairing if the file already exhists.
