  • Workflow integration with IBM lotus notes

    Hi
Can anyone tell me how does SAP workflow builder interact with IBM Lotus notes? For e.g., say a workflow has been initiated by a user and it has been assigned to his manager. Then in this case, the manager should be intimated by an email about the start of the workflow. How to configure the email ids to continue with the workflow. Can you please tell me the exact procedure of carrying out this workflow starting from the beginning till end?

    Hello,
You can set up Extended Notifications outside of workflow to send emails (which can end up in Lotus Notes) telling users that they have workitems in their inbox.
If you just want to tell someone a workflow has started, then you can use a SendMail step within the workflow.
For more information, search the forum.
If you run into any problems, feel free to ask.

  • Firefox 4 is not supporting IBM Lotus Notes, previous versions did. Any solutions?

My emails on IBM Lotus Notes do not show up in version 4. They did in the previous versions of Firefox.

I have same problem. I have switched to Seamonkey specifically for access to Lotus Notes (Version 7 at my employer), as this also allows access via Win 7 (as well as XP), whereas IE and Firefox do not. It is simpler for me, as our I.S. service will not release server information. While not as advanced as Firefox, Seamonkey is nonetheless very usable and shares a number of Mozilla add-ons.

  • Lotus Notes documents migration into Solution Manager

We have been using Lotus notes application for maintaining only documentation in our landscape. But now, the plan is to move all the documentation from Lotus notes to SAP Solution Manager and use it as a document management system from now....
Could anyone please answer the following queries:
    1) Does LSX environment help/enhance the migration ?. If not, are there any tools/accelerators/functions/automatic methods for mas uploading?
    2) This documentation is not project specific documentation. Where do you think this must go in Solution Manager?
In the custom area of BPR?. If yes, please do let me know the procedure for the same.
    3) Would it be possible to link the documents to functional domains/ business scenarios/ business processes in the BPR?
    4) Lotus notes provides access to all the versions (Draft/Approved/Reviewed) of a document. Would it be possible to have the same features even in Solution Manager?
    5) What all document types does Solution Manager recognize?.
I think the Lotus notes documents can be converted to 'Word' format and then put in Solution Manager. Besides this, is there any other common format which is recognized by both the tools?
    6) Standard SAP Solution manager does not provide indexed search. So, in order to retrieve a document later what indexing nomenclature/guidelines do you recommend?
Has anyone done/faced with this kind of requirement. The idea now is to use Solution manager as a document management system. The efforts/process/timelines information if already known would be of great help to start with for us....
Could you also provide the trade offs b/n Solution Manager and SAP knowledge warehouse (KW)?
    Hoping for some replies ...

we also had the same requirement to migration from LN to SolMan Documentation base but there is no such tool (yet?)
What you can do you can migrate from any ARIS like platform to SolMan:
    http://en.sap.info/ids-scheer-announces-migration-program-to-aris-platform/4058
You do have versioning in SolMan and you can upload any kind of document via SOLAR01
regarding the indexing you can either use SAP SES or connect TREX, this is documented in the customizing (SPRO)
TREX will also be the prerequisite to make use of KM in SolMan

  • Problems of installing IBM Lotus Notes Client in MacBookAir (Mac OS 10.6.5)

I installed IBM Lotus Notes Client 8.5 on my Mac OS 10.6.5 (MacBook Air), but it was shown as Simplified Chinese interface (my time zone is in Hong Kong); however, even I uninstalled and installed again, problem still exists. (in which I would like to have a English interface) Finally I set my time zone and changed all the settings to USA, uninstall and install again, the Notes interface's still shown in Simplified Chinese. Any solution? Thanks a lot.

btw, how can i post a screenshot here so that I can show clearly what I experienced now?
You need to put your screenshot on a server someplace and then post the url to it.
But these forums are for Apple products and I am doubtful you will get much help regarding that software here. Normally multilingual software should display the language which is at the top of the list in system prefs/language & text/language (make sure that is English). But non-Apple software is often not multilingual.

  • Migration of "CRONACLE for SAP solutions" to "SAP CPS for Netweaver"

    Hi,
We have standalone  Cronacle/CPS 6.02.  We are in the process of researching about migrating to  "SAP CPS for Netweaver"  like SAP CPS M33. We have the following questions.
1)Is a migration path available to migrate from "CRONACLE for SAP solutions" to "SAP CPS for Netweaver" ?.
2)What are the benefits of going to "SAP CPS for Netweaver" ?.
3)Is the migration can be done by ourselves or any SAP migration consultant is required?.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Raj.

    Hi Laurence, Raj,
This question is very old and I had not seen it before.
To upgrade from CPS 6.0.2 or 7.0.4 to 8.0.0 (aka M33). I do not know if SAP consultancy offers anything for this, you want to check with them. SAP might refer you to Redwood, though.
As for the differences, where do I start ... ;-)
Actually, CPS 8 is a major platform shift. Version 6 and 7 were PL/SQL-based solutions, version 8 is Java-based. You have many more possibilities built-in, such as better XBP 3.0 support, web services, SAP BusinessObjects, SAP PI/XI control, ... the list could go on forever.
Some older platforms (very, very old) are no longer supported, afaik, but you get native z/OS (mainframe) platform agents, AS/400 agents ... the user interface is platform independent, so you can access it from any OS including, but not limited to, Windows, Unix, Linux, and Mac OS X. There is even an iPhone/iPad client.
BTW, I do not know how long version 6 and 7 are supported.
The platform shift means that you might have to use a PL/SQL API in version 8. I guess it depends on how much PL/SQL you use. If most of your jobs are SAP and OS jobs, you would not even need that.

  • Cisco Phone Control and Presence 8.6.1.1185 with IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 (Integrated Sametime Client 8.0.2) - No presence status visible

    Hi community,
I am trying to integrate Cisco Unified Presence 8.6.1.10000-34 with IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 with the integrated Sametime Client version 8.0.2 via the Cisco Plugins 8.6.1.1185.
Phone control is working fine, whereas the presence status is not shown (= no handset symbol next to the Sametime user). When I look in the preferences of the plugin, I can see that the plugin has connected successfully to the CUCM (8.6.2.20000-2),whereas the connection to the CUPS has not been established.
The user id as well as the password are all the same on all systems. Here is a description of what I have configured via the ciscocfg.exe tool:
    Feature Control:
    - Enable Phone Status -> checked
    - Enable Dial Using Cisco IP Communicator -> unchecked (not required)
    - Enable Control Desk Phone -> checked
    - Default Mode -> Control Desk Phone
    Control Desk Phone Settings:
    - Voicemail Pilot Number -> left blank (no voicemail)
    - Cisco Unified Communications Manager
         - Servers -> IP address of CUCM
         - Read Only -> unchecked
         - Use as Default CUCM -> checked
         - Synchronize Credentials -> checked
              - Use Sametime Credentials -> checked
Use Secure Connection: -> not required
LDAP Phone Attributes: -> not required
    Phone Status Settings:
    - Cisco Unified Presence Servers -> IP address of CUPS
    - Read Only -> unchecked
    - Synchronize Credentials -> checked
         - Use Sametime Credentials -> checked
    - Sametime User ID Mapping
         - Use Business Card Attribute -> MailAddress
         - Remove Domain -> checked
    - Display Off-Hook Status Only -> unchecked
At the moment I don't see an error in the configuration, but maybe I am wrong. Could anyone please tell me what the error could be?
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Igor

    Hi all,
here are some additions to my above post:
    Servers and clients used:
    1x CUCM 8.6.2.20000-2
    1x CUPS 8.6.1.10000-34
1x IBM Lotus Domino Messaging Express Server 8.5.2
1x Sametime Entry Server 8.5.2 (on top of the Domino server)
2x IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 with integrated Sametime 8.0.2
2x Cisco Phone Control and Presence with Lotus Sametime (PCAP) 8.6.1.1185
2x Cisco Unified Personal Communicator 8.5.5.19839
    Setup:
    - CUCM, CUPS and CUPC are working fine, i.e. Desk Phone control via CUPC, as well as availability and presence status are working without issues
    - IBM Lotus Domino server is the LDAP Directory, the Sametime Entry Server is installed on top of the Domino server and uses the Domino Directory
    - User ID and password on CUCM/CUPS match the ShortName field and password in Domino
    - The PCAP plug-in has been manually deployed to both Notes clients with the following configuration:
         - Enable Phone Status -> active
         - Desk Phone Control -> active
         - no credential synchronization for CUCM and CUPS, i.e. every user must fill the user details himself
         - Sametime User ID Mapping is implemented via the LDAP Attribute uid (which is equal to the user id in CUCM)
         - LDAP configuration filled in with details of the Domino server
Phone Control is working fine, also the connection to the LDAP server (Domino) is fine. However, when I type in the credentials for the CUPS server login, I can see (in Troubleshooting pane) that the user (pparker) is connected to the CUPS server for a short period of time and then gets disconnected. After that no connection is possible to the CUPS server, i.e. status is always disconnected.
I have collected the Tomcat (EPASSoap00010.log and security00010.log) logs via RTMT and compared them to the logs from the PCAP plugin. The relevant time period is from 15:14 to 15:17. In the Tomcat logs I can see that the authentication is successful (see attached files), however in the log of PCAP plugin I can see the following messages:
    2012/02/03 15:14:35.281 WARNUNG Credential is rejected. Nothing to retry ::class.method=com.cisco.sametime.phonestatus.cup.CUPPresenceWatcher.answerChallenge() ::thread=CT_CALLBACK.1 ::loggername=com.cisco.sametime.phonestatus.cup

I don't understand why the connection is rejected although the Sametime Internal ID and CUPS User ID match. Does anyone know what the issue could be?
All posts are very much appreciated!
    Thanks a lot in advance!

  • Lotus notes data in SAP BW

    Hi Gurus,
We are facing with a typical scenario here. I want to have my Lotus Notes data in SAP BW system. Lotus notes uses NSF file system to store data. I am not clear how can we get this into SAP BW. I tried searching the same in different forums but none of the thread come close to solving the issue.
There are connectors available. However, I am not able to find documentations on the same. I know how to transfer SAP BW data in Lotus notes but not the reverse. I tried searching for LotusSQL Drivers but found no documents on this as well.
I want to know what source system can we use here. Is'nt there any other way without using a file system as Source system to accomplish this. I want the entire process to be automated. I don't want to use a middleware (like ORACLE database) in between Lotus notes server and SAP BW.
Can anyone please respond to the same.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sreekul Nair

Thank you for the prompt response Shanthi. However, I don't want to use File System as my source system. I want to do it via a use of a Lotus notes connector or Lotus Enterprise integrator. I want that the data as and when pushed from Lotus notes  should appear in BW system.
How to achieve this. Plz help.

  • BOE 3.1 SR3 on Solaris SPARC - how to for Int kit for SAP Solutions ?

    Hi,
this is my first BOE installation and I've just installed the BOE SR3 Enterprise Server on Solaris SPARC with SAP WAS 7.0 and Oracle 11.2.0.2 providing the CMS database location and the Java application server for the BOE applications.
The installation went ok and all BOE Server services are running. I've now got to install the XI 3.1 SR3 BOBJ Integration for SAP Solutions kit and have read the installation and administration guide for this.
The pre-requisites state that the SAP RFC & Java Connector needs to be put in place before deploying. Are these not part of the NW 7 WAS 7.0 Java Server anyway ?
If anyone has any pointers to more detailed instructions for doing Integration for SAP solutions kit other than the guide then please let me know.
    Regards,
    Brian.

    Hello Ingo,
many thanks for your reply, although I'm still confused. My Business Objects 3.1 Enterprise Server runs on the same host as a NW 7 WAS and has it's applications deployed and running on the NW 7 WAS Java instance .According to OSS 549268 you should not use the standalone SAP JCO connector if your applications are running on a SAP WAS - it has it's own integrated SAP Java Connector
"SAP JCo is available for two different environments: there is the standalone version and the version integrated in the SAP J2EE Engine. These two JCo variants have a compatible API but are implemented differently, so you may not mix them together within one environment.
SAP JCo 2.1 is the standalone version and can be used in all Java applications not running in an SAP J2EE Engine environment.
So it seems I don't need to use the standalone Java connector ?

    Brian.

  • EWA: error message in CRM check for SAP Solution Manager system

    Hello!
In EWA report for SAP Solution Manager system I have seen error message: Many CSA* inbound queues in error status were detected in your system. As a result of this BDocs have not been delivered. And then table
Queue Name                                Status     Date of first entry             Entries
    CSABUPA0000000070           READY     03.12.2007                          45
    CSABUPA0000000934           READY     07.05.2008                          45

    CSA_ORDER_8000000001      READY     22.11.2007     3
    and others.
I looked transaction smq2. There are 11300 queues in it. Is it actual error or it is a normal situation? And that must I do, to remove an error?
Edited by: Mariya Kurbatova on Jul 2, 2009 6:27 AM

    Hi,
Usually problems with hanaging CSA* queues are caused because too many
indiviaual queues are created for the qRFC resources to handle. You can
limit the number of queues as described in note 763680.
Note 763680 would be useful if all of your qRFC resourcesa are in use
when you have a great number of queues. With a large number of dialog
WPs on the system it would probably make sense to reduce the amount
    as described in the note.
the casue when you have this problem would be to check SMQR -> GOTO ->
qRFC resources. You can also see if most of your dailog WPs are in use
    in SM50.
    Also refer to note 758677.
Please schedule report RSQIWKEX (Inbound) to run as described in the
    note.
And since your title has mentioned that the EWA is on your CRM satellite system; this maybe a further good reference too
When you replicate lots of data from CRM to R/3, there could be a qRFC
resource problem. In this case, the numebr of queues created can be
reduced by implementing the attached note 356228, particularly solution
    2.
    For CSA* queues is slightly different from the one decribed in note;
this is because the CSA queues exchange data within the CRM system.
The steps described should be followed, except that table SMOFQFIND
must be used instead of CRMQNAMES. In this table, fields TR_SNAEMS and
SEGM_FLD are equivalent to the CRMQNAMES fieds BAPISTRUCT and BAPIFLD
respectively. It should be possible to follow the solution 2 in the
note as long as you use SMOFQFIND instead of CRMQNAMES.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers,
    SH

  • Integration kit for SAP Solutions

    Hi gurus,
i've encountered a problem with BO XI 3.0 Integration for SAP Solutions.
I've installed in a virtual machine BO XI Edge series for NON-SAP solutions evaluation copy, when I try to run web InfoView everything working fine. The infoview path is http://<servername>:6405/InfoViewApp and it take itself the "logon.jsp" file.
Now my goal was connect BO and my BW server. I've downloaded BO Integration kit for SAP solutions 3.1 but installation locked for a WSDL (I have no idea what WSDL is) than i try with 3.0 version.
I've downloaded JCO jar and dll files (sapjco3-ntamd64-3.0.2) and putted them on the right (i think) path.
I've installed Integration kit and installation goes fine.
Now when i try to catch infoview page 404 not found Internet explorer page is show  but CMS is on,intelligent agent too.
It can be a tomcat problem?
    Can anyone help me?
    thanks in advance!

Guys you were good!!!every installation things was right!!
I've the last question about SAP Authentication: when I try to call the SAP auth page i retrieve the follow error:
    HTTP Status 404 - /SAP/jsp/auth/sapsec_logsys.faces
    type Status report
    message /SAP/jsp/auth/sapsec_logsys.faces
description The requested resource (/SAP/jsp/auth/sapsec_logsys.faces) is not available.
    Apache Tomcat/5.5.20
I think is a Jco jar error,it's right?
In the (awesome) ingo blog there is: "put sapjco.jar file into the path C:\program files\...\tomcat55\shared\lib\, but i have not shared folder, than before installation i putted sapjco.jar into C:\program files\...\tomcat55\server\lib\ folder..was wrong?
    thanks a lot guys!

  • Ticket SAP Solution Manager 7.0 to SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0

    Hi,
I want to migrate all tickets from SAP Solution Manager 7.0 to SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 , please let me know the procedure how to migrate it.
    DB Detail
    SAP Solution Manager 7.0 - MSSQL( 9.00.4035)
SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 - MSSQL(10.00.2531)
    Thanks,
    Kaleel

    Dear Mohamed,
I was reading the post and the replies and while I think your question has been answered, I just want to make sure what you are trying to achieve. Is it a migration, where you have one Solution Manager system on SAP Solution Manager 7.0 and another
SAP Solution Manager EHP1 system and you were looking to migrate the Service Desk messages?
If you are "Upgrading" one system from Solution Manager 7.0 to  EHP1 then all the messages are preserved.
If you are "Migrating" to a physically different system, then transfer of Service Desk Messages is not supported.
Please see the document [SAP Solution Manger-  Conent Transfer|https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_OBJECT=011000358700000608232009E]
Also Service Desk is a completely independent CRM Service, so the messages could always be archived, as has been suggested.
No depending on your scenario, is the EHP1 system brand new or is it already productive? If it was brand new, you might be able to do a homogenous system copy, and then upgrade the new system to EHP1. But if it is already productive, this would not be an option.
    Hope this helps to clarify.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • C4C & Lotus Notes integration for service users

    Hi,
I tried to find information about C4C and Lotus Notes integration for service users without success. User manual says on Sales both Outlook and Notes, but in Service only Outlook. Does Lotus Notes add-in work for service users similar than sales users? Is there anywhere demo video for that? I can only found demo video for sales (SAP Sales OnDemand Outlook Integration Demo (new) - YouTube).
    -Aatos

    Hi Aatos,
The Lotus notes integration currently supports the "Field Service" role in Cloud for Service where you are primarily servicing customers in the the field and have direct email communications with your customers. In this use-case, similar to "Field Sales" (AKA SFA Users) in Cloud for Sales, you can receive an email from a customer, get information about that customer from Cloud for Customer via the Lotus Integration, and be able to upload that email into Cloud for Customer as an email activity to track the email correspondence between the user and the customer.
However, the Lotus notes integration does not support the "Call Center" role in Cloud for Service where you are a contact center agent in a centralized service center processing emails that are routed into a common inbox and all correspondence is sent out in behalf of a central inbox such as [email protected] In this usecase all emails automatically create tickets and all emails both inbound and outbound are automatically recorded as email activities without customer or user intervention. The email client for this usecase is either a C4C email client or Windows Outlook Client as you found in the documentation.
    Thanks,
    Rei

  • Virtualization for SAP solutions

    Hi all,
as i recently wrote a blog about 'Virtualization and enterprise SOA' and as we will have many virtualization related activities in 2007 i think it's a good idea to start a thread in this forum for general discussion about virtualization and its utilization in SAP landscapes.
As many of you know SAP is offering application virtualization capabilities in SAP NetWeaver with Adaptive Computing. This was introduced in at SAPPHIRE 2004.
Meanwhile virtualization concepts, technologies and products cover a much broader part of an SAP landscape, starting at network virtualization and going up to desktop virtualization. I am sure storage virtualization with SAN or NAS is almost a standard IT scenario, but some of the newer virtualization technologies are in their early stages first.
How are you using virtualization technologies today, and which concepts/products/... do you consider to be most important for your environment ?
    Best regards
    Roland

    Hi Kwee,
my name is Nils and I am topic owner of the virtualization topic within SAP Consulting. You ask:
    1. How will SAP system maintenance and administration be affected now that we have tools in VM that can hanlde copying, backup and recovery?
Generally spoken, SAP should react on this when it comes to cloning instances. Change of an SID still is not supported, so I would expect the SAP Virtualization Lab to provide a solution for this demand asap.
In the VMware context, our Consulting team developped an approach that lets you run SAPINST in a silent mode so that no user interaction is needed any more for installing application servers, central instances and so on. You create a master template for sapinst, and this template can then be modified script-based to deploy your dialog instances in background. Siemens implemented our solution as well as MAN Diesel in Kopenhagen
If you have customers who deal with this topic, ask them to order me for an implementation. Backup and recovery should still be performed on database or storage level (Netapp). If you ask the question more precisely, I will give you a more detailed answer.
    2. What about SAP high availability and disaster recovery scenarios? How useful is clustering now that we have tools in VM that can offer an alternative solution?
Clustering still remains one of the operational keys. VMWare can never fully replace a Cluster although the fancy VMWare slides would like to make us thinking so. When it comes to disaster recovery, VMWare HA is a very fancy solution. But not every customer has the infrastructure and the money to implement VMWare HA. Also from a performance point of view, Clustering still stays a valid approach. Or did you ever try a HA-setup for a 8 TB solution with VMWare? A valid alternative for Clustering can be Adaptive Computing which gives you an enhanced availability (no high availability) bit downtimes of customer sometimes allow this and it is more stable than most cluster solutions around. You should also keep your eyes on Windows Server 2008! I spoke to Microsoft this week, and they put live-migration of virtual machines on their hot topic list again (after it was removed). Beginning of 2009, Windows Server will be able to migrate virtual machines in a live manner and also provide HA functionality for virtual machines. VMWare is still a little bit ahead of MS, but I saw the newest tools from MS, and this advantage is shrinking.
    3. How will hardware sizing be handled for SAP upgrades and rollout of new functions in a VM architecture?
From a sizing perspecive, calculate an overhead of 20% for your hardware to be on the safe side. Sizing is a task to be done by the customer together with the hardware vendor. He needs to tell the vendor that he wants to operate SAP in a virtualized environment. The hard limit for this is the IO based on your approach how to host the virtual systems (VMFS based with central FC storage or container- based). The hard limit is 6000 SAPs at the moment, for larger implementations, a lot of money has to be spent, technically, more then 18.000 SAPs are possible (but do not make sense).
    4. How can performance be optimized in a VM environment?
SAP-Performance? IO-Performance? There are some guidelines when it comes to the setup of virtual machines with SAP. You can find them here:
    http://www.vmware.com/partners/alliances/technology/sap-whitepapers.html
Best Practice Guidelines for SAP Solutions on VMware® Infrastructure
Is there a SAP training that specifically deals with such topics?
No, but if you can take care on an IO, I could come over and teach you and your collegues about those topics. I developped a workshop I present to customers (one-day) about all of those topics mentioned here.
    Best regards,
Nils, Technical Solution Architect, SAP Consulting

In the (awesome) ingo blog there is: "put sapjco.jar file into the path C:\program files\...\tomcat55\shared\lib\, but i have not shared folder, than before installation i putted sapjco.jar into C:\program files\...\tomcat55\server\lib\ folder..was wrong?
    thanks a lot guys!
