Hi my bookmarks arno working in iBooks whenever I close it and go back it opens at the last bookmarks tried restarting iPad but no joy

I have noticed that besides it appearing on previous page, that if I turn to lanscape and chose the bookmark it is appearing on the right of the second page of the two that appears as should be. So I wonder if this is some problem of formating between landscape 2 page view and the single page portrait view?
My two cents but this is sure annoying! I have not seen it jump back like some noticed however, just previous page in portrait view!

Ibooks not working on iphone4 after ios5 upgrade

Hi folks,
the ibook application is not working anymore after upgrading to ios5.
It all appears to be ok but no book can be open. The books appears correctly, others may be downloaded but still none of them can be open.
It looks like lacking a kind of authentication.
I removed it , restarted the phone, installed it again and it still does not work.
Am I alone with this problem or someone else also got it?

Hi.. I have problem wth hotspot too. But i still use it via wifi. I cant use cable as medium anymore. My experience, hotspot connection vis wifi sometime need to resert the connection several time before stable. Just try this: unplug the phone from usb connection. let your wifi turn off. Then set the personel hotspot on via usb only. After that back to the wifi setting. Turn it on. Again back to the personel hotspot setting. Turn it off, on it back (wifi connection automaticly selected when usb cable unplug). Now you can search your phone from ur wifi service on pc. Hope it works..

Bookmarks not working in iBooks author

I am unable to create a bookmark in iBooks author. The “+”-sign in the bookmarks pane of the inspector is faded/unclickable when I select an element on one of the pages (figure, text box, image etc.). I have been reading up on solutions and workarounds, but have yet to find one that works.
I have chapters, sections, and pages in my book but cannot add bookmarks to any of these. I am using the “Photo book”-layout, could this be the problem?
I’d really appreciate any help I can get on this problem, thanks.

I finally managed to find a workaround for this, which I thought I'd share since I know a lot of others are struggling with this too.
In my case, I'm working with a photo book style template, with full sized background images on every page. I wanted to link from one page to the next, but as mentioned, I was unable to create bookmarks on any of the pages of my book.
What I found worked was selecting one of my large background images, then going to the "Widget inspector" (farthest right in the inspector panel), selecting the "Layout" tab and checking "title" and in the label dropdown selecting "Figure". By doing so, I'm defining my image as a figure. I can then select a portion of text on another page, go to the hyperlinks panel in the inspector and in the drop down menu specify that I want to link to a figure, my image then appears in the figure list and I can click to link to it.
Now, this led to a second problem - changing the hyperlink color (predefined as underlined light blue). This is yet another (of many) bugs in iBooks author. I found a way to solve this too; open the Styles Drawer (select it from the "View" menu on the top left of the formatting toolbar). Select the text you want to format (in this case your hyperlink). Click on the little arrow next to the "Figure reference" style (which is the defined style on the text link) and choose "Create character style from selection". In the pop-up that opens, click on "Include these character attributes" and at the bottom left, click on "Select Overrides", then uncheck the overrides for underline and color. Click on OK (I find that you need to have at least one character attribute checked in order to be able to click OK so make sure you have the font and size checked). Now you've created a new formatting style that you can apply to all your hyperlinks but it won't look like you've done anything in iBooks Author - you'll ned to preview the book to see your formatted text (yup, another bug...).
Let's hope Apple get these bugs fixed for the next version, and soon!

IBooks bookmarks not working after 1.2 upgrade

I have noticed the bookmarks on my iPad iBooks are not working after upgrading to 1.2 today.
I am unable to bookmark pages when I need to. It only works sporadically.
I have also noticed when closing a book and reopening, the book opens at last bookmarked page instead of last page read.
Please advice about any fix.

Hi, I use facetime regularly with my parents who live outside US and it stopped working. Their ipad2 rings,says connecting..and then 'call failed'. Upgrading their iOS5 (or 6) is not a option as my parents do not know to do this. Please help

Well, in his defense, his parents bought him the player so I guess we can't blame him. Though the 6 GB versions were available in November so I guess they really did get 'nervous' about Christmas and like to get their shopping done early! Kudo's to you for trying to remain with the Creative line but for what you're looking for it's obviously not the player for you. Creative seems to be fine-tuning their line for the audio crowd. I'm into mp3 players for the audio. Sure, the ability to watch video's and look at pictures on a decent screen is a plus but for me at least, it's all about the music. And with music, 6 GB is more than enough. Heck, 8 GB would have been more than enough for me. I'm a subscriber to Napster-to-go, so I don't feel the need to carry 00 plus GB of stuff on my portable player. I honestly don't understand the desire to watch movies or TV shows on tiny little screens. But you're also talking to a guy who doesn't watch television. What a complete waste of time and brain cells. Probably the **competitor products we can't discuss here** or one of those players would better suit your needs. Companies are definately picking their niche markets carefully and Creative's decision to not offer hard dri've players any more seems to definately be saying bye-bye to that market. I can't say I blame them. Hard dri'ves eventually give up the ghost and are quite delicate for people on the go. Good ridance, I say. Let Apple, Zune and all the others cater to the Z generation's need to be spoonfed their video/TV addictions anywhere and everywhere. I'll pass. It's one thing to be able to enjoy some music on the go and enhance an otherwise dull work day or dri've. But movies/TV shows at work, school, or wherever? Please. Cut the cord! Just my $.02 - YMMV! My iPad will not load my photos from my pictures using ios5 iTunes. Works fine with my iPod. Does the fact I have photos taken on my iPad have any impact?

Having photos that you took with the iPsd has nothing to do with this at all.
When you sync photos to the iPad, you can select one main photo folder only - as described above - using the sync photos from heading within the photos tab of iTunes. You can have one level of sub folders within that main folder as well that you can sync to the iPad.
All of the photos must remain selected to sync each time or the unselected photos will be erased from the device.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Click on the "Sync Photos From" heading and navigate to the pictures folder on your computer that you want to sync.
Click on all of the sub folders within that main photos folder that you want to sync. You can select as many sub folders within that main folder that you want to put on the iPad as long as you use one level of folders only in the main photos folder.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

Bookmarks not working (locked) when using same Windows Profile on multiple machines

My bookmarks are not working. I am using the same profile folder on two different machines (Desktop and Notebook) as I use the same Windows profile on both machines. The common profile folder is located on a third machine on our company network. Once I connect both machines to the network the bookmarks on one machine become unusuable as the other machine locks the bookmarks file. How can I manually unlock the bookmarks file places.sqlite? Renaming it and restarting FF does not help.

I have upgraded to IOS5 and installed imessaging, it worked ok for a while and now it seems only to work occasionally or sometimes not at all. Is there any use in having software that doesn't work. I am not the only person who has this fault,

Hi , does anyone know how to fix the problem with imessages. Sometimes it works and more often than not it doesn't. I upgraded my iphone 3gs a couple of weeks ago and the imessaging worked splendidly but now it hardly works at all. Both my daughters have the same problem and it isn't the wifi coz they live in different parts of the country.

Suddenly some bookmark folders do not open anymore when I go under "bookmarks" if I use them in the sidebar it works. How can I fix this, it is only with 2 folders, all the other work fine.

I have created several bookmark folders and everything has worked fine until recently. Suddenly 2 folders do not open anymore when you hover the mouse over the folder.

I have flashplayer which works in Internet Explorer but not some sites using Firefox. I refreshed but no change and i DID lose all my bookmarks. Help!

Listening to BBC Radio was possible until today but now in Firefox I'm told to install Flashplayer. i have tried that 3 times but with no effect. The same with videos on BBC and some other sites but on others it works. If I use Internet Explorer everything is fine. So there is clearly an interface problem with Firefox which has only just started. I tried refreshing believing that it would retain all my favourites and other information/settings but most were lost. I'm 73 not technical so a simple solution if possible please.

I could not get firefox to work so i uninstalled it and tried to re-install it and now it wont install and im having to use IE. I want to get my firfox back so i can have my bookmarks back. Why cant i install it?

I also tried a system restore and it wouldnt work after that either. I can not even get it to install when i go to the website to install it, it goes through the whole process like it installed it, but it never shows up.

You can reinstall Firefox by overwrite it.(Remember download version lasted). Don't insintall your old version Firefox.And all bookmark,add-on will not be deleted.

Bookmarks not working when used in TOC

Does the WinHelp .chm file format not support Bookmarks in
the TOC? I get the error message "This program cannot display the
web page"?
Don't see this mention in the bookmark page in the Robohelp
help.

OK, this is embarrassing but I feel I should document the
answer in case some else has tired old eyes.
There were colons at the end of the non-working bookmarks. I
just could not see them very well when the red spell check
underline was also there.
I have since implemented a "'no colon" policy at the end of
topics, they are redundant anyway.
Which brings up the question, can I change the font size for
Robohelp?

I have tried everything on the forum to restore my bookmarks...they are just gone. None of the backups work and I simply can not use Firefox if I have to worry about this. Unbelievable.

One day, having done nothing different and....all of them are gone, poof! ...and no, none of the damn suggestions have worked. All of the bookmark files must be corrupted or something. Would have been nice to know that this was a possibility...so no I made no manual backups...If this can not be resolved, it's bye bye Firefox. COMPLETE DISASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was a strong supporter of Firefox until this happened. None of the fixes have worked...and besides why should I have to waste my time trying to fix it in the first place. I lost a lot of time and information with this situation and Firefox provides no support for itself that I can see. No...I've switched to Google Chrome and Firefox will have a serious uphill climb getting me back or preventing me from warning others off their product. FIREFOX HAS COST ME SEVERAL HOURS...NO...DAYS REPAIRING THIS DAMAGE. I won't be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank god we still have the freedom to chose in this country...at least for now.
P.S. I hope Firefox goes the way of Netscape. I was once a supporter of their product too...but they blew it bad...

Any work arounds to not use SSN for iOS5 upgrade

Anyone else bothered by Apple requiring your SSN in order to activate your iphone (as a last step)? The phone is completely unusable unless you enter this info in (at least for Verizon) I don't care how secure they say they are, this still really irritates me. Anyone found a work around to this?

I know you might have gone through these steps, or at least a couple of them, but go ahead and give them a try again.
There are some things to try with an iPod that won't turn off.
First of all, be sure that your "Hold" switch isn't turned on (the hold switch is located on the top of your iPod).
Then, after you’ve verified that your iPod’s Hold switch isn’t on, here a few things to try:
-- Reset the iPod. Be sure you're doing it the correct way: Press and hold the Menu and Select (center) buttons together for about 5-10 seconds.
Be sure to also try connecting your iPod to a power source while doing this step several times.
-- Try toggling the Hold switch. Flip the "Hold" switch on your iPod (located on the top) back and forth several times.
Again, this includes connecting the iPod to a power source while you're toggling the Hold switch back and forth (this worked for someone who's iPod wasn't responding to anything).
-- Try letting your iPod's battery drain out. Use your iPod enough that its battery finally goes dead, asking to re-charge it.
At this point, connect your iPod to your computer's USB or a charger, and leave it there for a couple of hours.
Now see if your iPod will turn off after trying that.
-- If none of these work, you might want to try Restoring your iPod. Note that this does delete all the contents off the iPod (which is why it is somewhat more of a "last resort"), but often clears up iPod issues you might be facing.
