IBooks not downloading my books?

So im on the iBooks store looking through free books and then I find like 10 that I like. (on my mac air btw) So I download them. Normally when i'm downloading books it takes like a few minutes, but now i'm downloading books and its taking like 2 days! And there not even downloading! It says 0 seconds remaining, and they are never downloading. If I pause all of them and resume only 1 book it fails. I need help, I am dying to read these books they seem awesome. But I cant download them. These pictures down here are just examples and are 2 of the 10 books. I put the 8 others in the purchased ones but aren't downloading so I stopped them. HELP!

Hey bloodsandguts22
Check to make sure you can access the iTunes Store as well as the iBooks Store and the settings are correct and nothing is blocking access to the stores. If you are still having issues, the report it to the iBooks Store by following the steps in the second article.

will not download purchased book from iBooks???

I Just figured this out. I had downloaded a bunch of books on my iPhone and had the greyed-out issue on my iPad with sync collections enabled. Had tried all the same fixes as indicated in this thread and others without success. What worked was restarting my iPad (this may not be a necessary stage) and searching for the titles that were stuck In the iBooks store. As expected each showed an 'in progress' download button. I was finally able to tap this to stop the (non-existent) download, which hadn't been possible within 'My Books' or the 'Purchased' tab on the store. When I tapped the button briefly jumped to 'Read' then changed to the standard iCloud download button for a previous purchase. Tapping this successfully initiated the download, which then synced into the right collection in my library.
    Hope it works for you!

  • Ibook not downloading

Ibook not downloading to my iPad from iTunes U

How about this... I'm having the same issue w/ my iPad. Bought 3 books tonight, only 1 downloaded. Other 2 show up on my bookshelf but have no progress in their status bar. When I click on purchases and try to download them it takes me back to my bookshelf and then gives me "you have already purchased these, go to purchases to download." It's this never-ending cycle!
On my MacBook (running everything current), it shows that I've bought these books, but when I try to download them there I get "Cannot check for downloads. iTunes temporarily unavailable." I've re-booted everything (MacBook, iPad, modem, router), even re-installed iTunes.
Then I tried my iPhone, was able to download other 2 books and then synced it to my MacBook, and then synced that to my iPad. Books showed up normal (was able to open them) once and then reverted back to the "will not open, blank status bar" like before.
Have rebooted iPad lots, even did your steps 1, 2 & 3.
    Lol, help!

  • My iPad 2 will not download/sync books, music, movies, and apps. HELP ME!

My BRAND NEW iPad 2 that I opened yesterday will not download 4 books and a Rosetta Stone Application. I have been waiting for two hours now, and have done everything I can think of. I disconnected it from the internet, I shut it down and restarted it, I tried downloading a small, free app to see if it would jump start the download process, but nothing has worked yet. I am extremely frustrated that this $850 tablet will not do something as basic as download an eBook on it's second day of use. Does anybody have any ideas???

Brand new?  Heck, I'd call Apple.
However, if you prefer, we can walk you through some standard procedures.  Start with a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

  • IBooks not downloading

When I am downloading books so that I can read them in iBooks they are showing up in my book library, but they are not downloading.  The bar at the bottom is there but they are not downloading.  I can also get the free samples of the books, but not the books themselves.  Where do I need to look to find the answer for this? Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search and couldn't find anything on it.
    Thanks for the help.

I have the same issue (iphone 4s).  The cover appears, with the loading bar in it, but it never actually loads. If I uninstall and reinstall the app numerous times I can sometimes get them to load.  BUT, occasionally the will revert to unloaded state and I cant finish reading them!

  • IBooks not downloading anything...

iBooks has been giving me a "Not enought storage error" ever since I tried to download a Calculus textbook off of the iBooks store.  The file is 1.8 GB and I have 4.4 GB of free memory on my iPad, so I'm not sure why this is coming up.  After a while of troubleshooting I just re-installed the app and now nothing will download... This is quite an inconvenience at the moment, I have finals to study for and I needed the Calculus textbook I was trying to download.  Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Try re-downloading the book on your computer and then re-add it to iBooks via the iBooks tab under your iPad in iTunes when it is plugged in to your computer.

Tap Purchased from the bottom navigation bar.
Tap the book that you want to download.

  • Ibooks cannot download purchased books

I have two books that are inbetween others in a series that will not download. I have been charged for the books. There is nothing wrong with my iPad as it will download others in the series. This is very frustrating.

Explain what happens when you try to download the books. You have to provide some details.

  • Ibooks will not download purchased books from cloud on iPad

I have an iPad 1 and I have recently downloaded version 5.01 onto it but in the process all my music and books were gone. I was able to retrieve all of my music but whenever I try to redownload the books I have already purchased in the ibooks store it begins downloading then stops right when it is almost over. I have tried going to cloud also but this does the same thing. Please help!

  • IBooks not downloading books (thx ios7)

"upgraded" to ios7 this am.  many apps are in a holding pattern just "waiting" to download.  and in particular the books that i had loaded on the iphone previously just sit waiting to download.  it's been a few hours.  can i force the downloading of the books?  (btw, i already deleted and reinstalled ibooks).
    help please.
    thanks
    paul

    Hi,
Close the App Store app, the iTunes app and the iBooks app by pressing the Home button twice, and swiping them up.
Then go to Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data
    Open the apps again.
I'd recommend as well to sign out and in using Settings > iTunes & App Store
    Hope that helps.

  • Ibooks not downloading on my iphone 5

Hi.  ibooks isn't downloading on my iPhone 5c. I'm not sure what operating system I'm on.  I did an update in early Jan.  I recently changed the apple ID associated with my iPhone.  ibooks lets me "get" the book, but it just loops the download.  Thank you for any help.

Because a few million of your closest friends are trying to download it too.
This NEVER works out well on release day.  Keep tryiing, or better yet, give it a few days.

  • IBooks not downloading after iCloud restore

After installing iOS 6 on my 3rd generation iPad and restoring from iCloud, about a third of my books in ibooks are stuck in the downloading state. They have an empty progress bar across the bottom, and in the Purchases page in the iBookstore they all show up as "Downloading."  I'm unable to select them and delete them.
I've tried deleting ibooks and restarting. When I reinstall ibooks, the same problems are there. Is there anyway to force ibooks to delete everything?
    Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. I have the little black progress bars underneath my books but they never fill up with blue. They just sit there indefinitely. I've tried killing iBooks and restarting it but that hasn't helped. I'd rather not delete the iBooks app though because I have other ePub documents and PDF documents that I don't want to risk losing.

  • I am trying to copy a document which is in my ibooks (not a purchased book or a pdf).  A document written by someone who copied it to my iPad.  Can I put this on my mac?

Can I copy a document which is in ibooks on my iPad to my mac?  The  document was copied onto my iPad from someone else's macbook and I was hoping to then copy it onto my mac.  However, when I connect my iPad to my mac it does not show that I have the document on my iPad.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ooh...... An eBook/ePub is a different animal. I apologize. I assumed it was a PDF. I should have asked.
    Try this.....
Connect your iPad to your Mac and launch iTunes.
Select your iPad (click on the iPad name) in the left sidebar of iTunes. If you do not see the sidebar, from the menu at the top of the screen go to View>Show Sidebar.
Right click on the iPad name in the left sidebar and select Transfer Purchases. Let the process complete.
Click on the Books tab at the top of the iTunes Window on the right and see if the book transferred.
If it transferred, click on Books under the library heading in the upper left part of the left sidebar. Find the book in the window on the right and then drag it to the desktop. This will only work if you are not running Mavericks.
If you are running Mavericks, look for the book in the iBooks app on the Mac. You will not see Books in the Library section of the left sidebar in iTunes when running Mavericks.
