Ical alert notification issue

I had a .mac account that was converted to mobile me, and then to icloud. Whenever someone sends me an ical invite to my .me address, i do receive an email but not an alert/notification on my iphone. If the invite is sent to .mac address i do receive the alert. In fact, sinceOS5 i dont beleive i am receving any alerts from .me ical. . I have checked all the settings. The only thing that makes sense in in the icloud settings unders account it says @mac.com, instead of me.com. I can not change it, I have tried signing out and signing back in under .me but it switichign account right back .mac. Anyoen else experiencing this? i think this is somethign that apple will need to fix but i dotn have teh slightest how to get them to do it?? any help would be great! thanks!

Yes, there are at least 2 other threads discussing the same problem. This seems to be happening to a lot of people, including me. I have only seen one possible fix (trashing the preference file and starting over), but this seems to be a widespread problem and not one involving personal preferences.

.mac vs .me issues with ical alerts/notifications

My .mac was coverted to .me which was converted to icloud. I only use my .me email address. I even log in to apple with that ID. However it shows my username as @mac.com. This prevents me from receiving any ical invites, alterts or notifications send to my .me address(i do get the email invites). i do get the alerts/invites sent to me .mac, which no one uses. If had even tried logging out of icloud on my iphone and relogging back in using .me, but it immediately reverts back to .mac. Anyone have any ideas? i think this is something apple is goign to neeed to fix???

You cannot sync calendars or contacts with iCloud using Snow Leopard: iCal is trying to connect to the MobileMe server which is closed, and you need to remove it from Preferences>Accounts.
You may be able to sync your calendars to iCloud by means of an unsupported hack, and there is a convoluted hack which has been reported as working for Address Book (and as not working by others - I've not tried it), but iCloud's other facilities will not work. There are a couple of third-party solutions which may be of interest.
BusyCal is an iCal-like calendar application with extra facilities: it can sync with the iCloud Calendar while running on Leopard, Snow Leopard or Lion. A single user licence (two machines allowed) is $49.99.
Soho Organizer can sync Calendars and Contacts with iCloud on Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion. A single user licence (multiple machines allowed) is $99.99.

Currently we just upgraded from BES 5.0 to BES 10.2 the first activation that we have done for our BB Q10 device is "Work and Personal Space Only " then we have found that this mode doesn't support Call, SMS and BBM logs, so we have reactivated the device ( Q10) to "Work Space Only ( Regulated ) " after all successful reactivation most of the users using what on the BB Q10 is complaining that they are receiving whatsapp messages but cannot hear and see the notification, before that when we are using Work and Personal space mode whatsapp notification is working the issue started when we reactivated the device and set it to Work Space Only ( regulated ).

Sorted! I thought I'd set it up as a POP mail account but it was set up as default IMAP...
Works now I've changed it.

ICal Alerts Disappear (synching with Google Calendar)

I'm synching three Google Calendars to iCal: two work accounts and a personal account, all running on Google apps. These calendars are all synched to my iPhone as well. I have the default alert setting in iCal set at 10 minutes. The problem is that the alerts don't seem to be synching up to Google calendar.
I noticed that none of my alerts were happening. After being late for a couple meetings as a result of this, I investigated. Here's what I've gathered.
The default alert don't seem to stick.
Additional alerts created in iCal don't stick either.
Alerts created on my iPhone stick and synch up to Google Apps just fine - they show up in the Google Apps web interface as expected. However, these alerts dont' synch down to iCal.
The problem is universal across all three accounts.
Unlike the ongoing "can't delete events via iCal" issue that's well documented (and incredibly still not fixed) there's no mention of an alerts synch issue on the CalDAV known issues page.
I had originally set up the Google accounts to have no default reminders added, so I wouldn't have to deal with the extra email/SMS reminders. I have now added a ten minute reminder to all these accounts as a workaround. Now, when I create events in iCal, the ten minute reminder sticks. I have no real idea how this works, but it's as if when synching, iCal sees that Google Apps has a ten minute reminder as well, and there's no conflict. However, if I change the reminder interval, it just disappears. Also if I add a second reminder, say 40 minutes to remind me to leave to drive somewhere, those simply disappear as well. It seems like the correct behavior would be to pass up whatever reminder is set in iCal to Google Apps - that's not happening.
This is happening in iCal 5.01, running on OS X 10.7.2. Really frustrating - anyone have any ideas on how to fix or further troubleshoot? Thanks!

So I got to researching again today, because the utility of calendars is greatly reduced without functioning reminders.
There's a thread over on Google Groups that started in December about this very issue. There wasn't much helpful info until two days ago when someone posted about types of alerts and support between Google and iCal:
If you set the default reminder in your google calendar preferences, when you add an event in ical, the default reminder shows up.
In google I selected "pop-up" for my default reminder type.
When you look at the type of reminder that is set in ical, if you had selected "pop-up" in google, you'll see ical calls it "message".
I've always preferred to use the "message with sound" option in ical. So I tried changing my default alarm within ical.
The reminder/notification/alarm disappeared when I changed it to "message with sound".
When I added a new reminder that was just a message, it showed up, and didn't instantly dissapear. It also synced with my google calendar as expected.
I can live without the "boink" sound when my alerts pop up on screen, so long as they're popping up and not disappearing. Hope this helps some, at least until it starts working like it used to.
I had looked at the type of messages supported, but assumed that "message with sound" would simpy become "message" which is a "popup" to Google. Seems like that would be a more elegant handling of message incompatibility - "translate" the alert to a similar alert type, instead of just dumping it. Lame.
Anyway - this is good enough. I don't care as much about the sound as simply having reminders again.

Email Alert Template Issue - List Alerts (Alert Me) emails not using customized XML alert template

We have recently customized the XML alerts template (AlertTemplates.xml) for our site collection in SharePoint 2010 to exclude specific fields in the email when users who have subscribed using the "Alert Me" feature. We have renamed the
custom alerts XML file and loaded the custom template in the following directory (%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web server extensions\14\TEMPLATE\XML) and restarted IIS. Once users subscribe to the alerts using the list "alert me"
function they received the customized email as intended.
We needed to auto-subscribe users to the email alerts so what we did was use a powershell script to add users to the alert subscriptions using the script shown below:

When we ran the script and added the users and restarted the service, all users who were auto-subscribed via this method get the email without the customizations that were done in teh custom alert template. All users who manually subscribed on their
own to the list using the "Alert Me" function would get the customized email.
Does anyone know why users who manually subscribe to the alerts get the customized email, and users who were auto-subscribed using the powershell script do not get the customized email and get the standard generic email template?

According to your code, it create a new alert using SPUser.Alerts.Add() method. For this method, it will create a new alert based on the predefined alert template by default.
If you only assigned the custom alert template to the list, users who manually subscribe to the alerts get the customized email, but users who were auto-subscribed using the PowerShell script get the standard
generic email template.
For your issue, you can set the new alert ‘s alert template:

HANA Alerts email Issue

Hello Folks
I have an issue sending mails from HANA Studio where we configure the alert notifications. I am able to send mails from OS level from root and sidadm as well.
When I give the below settings in Alerts Configuration I am not able to receive Alert mails.

I have used localhost as hostname and standard port 25 in HANA Alert settings. Everything started working. We use postfix as underlying OS mail functionality.

How to increase the iCal Alert Popup BOX height?

I would like to be able to increase iCal's Alert popup box to show more than two concurrent alert notifications at one time. Ideally, this popup box would dynamically size itself to the number of active alert notifications up to the available screen space. A second less elegant solution would be to enable the user to resize the iCal Alert popup box manually. A third even less elegant solution would be to statically redefine a new default height in terms of either active alert notifications or pixels. Anything would be better than the limitations currently in place...
Here is an example of three concurrent alerts. In this case, the user must scroll down within the iCal Alert popup box to see Alert #3.

Iview for UWL not show the tab(Taks, Alerts, Notifications, Tracking)

I am facing the following issue.
In the MSS for the Workset: Work Overview , for UWL the system not show the tab(Taks, Alerts, Notifications, Tracking), ie the system not show none tab, show a page in blank.

OEM Grid Alert Notification

We would like to configure our OEM grid alert notification in such a way that only the DBAs received alerts pertaining to database issues such as tablespace 90% full. With our current settings, all the people on the alert notification list received alerts related to database issues. How can we choose who will receive what notifications? Thanks!

The way the product is designed ou would create multiple administrators who would then each subscribe to appropriate alerts. It sounds like you are using a single administrator and/or set of notifications for everyone.

ICal alerts not working for only one user

My main user account stopped giving me iCal alerts. I can switch to another user and my test alert works. I've found a lot of information online but most seems to be for older versions of iCal. I have gone into ~user/Library and removed everything related to iCal. I even managed to finally delete the home calendar that seemed to re-appear. I managed to start with a clean calendar but no alerts. Is there an alert plist file that could be the culprit? I've done a global search in Terminal for anything under ~User/Library with "alert" or "notification" in the filename but can't find anything. I hate to rebuild an entire account again.

Remote alert notification when s2s tunnel tears down

Does anyone have any insight on how to set up an alert notification (say email) natively whenever a s2s tunnel comes down. Currently experiencing some infrequent s2s issues on an ASA5510 - IOS 8.0(3)

Need old-school iCal alerts back in 10.8

Help! I need the old-school, movable, multi-option snoozable alerts back for my Calendar events. I need to be able to choose how long the snooze interval is like we used to be able to do with iCal alerts - I would sometimes use the smaller increments, but I used the 2 hour snooze all the time and I'm missing it dearly. Also, I miss being able to move the alert off to the side out of the way if I wanted to keep it on screen instead of dismissing it.
I use Calendar to alert me when it's time for everything from my son's homework, to when to start cooking dinner, to giving my daughter her various meds, and I need more flexibiltiy than Notification Center seems to give.
With Notification Center, I can't control how long the snooze is, and the default is almost always way too brief an interval. And if I just want to set it aside without closing or snoozing, I can't - it hovers in just about the worst possible spot on my main monitor blocking whatever I happen to be working on.
This is my only problem with Mountain Lion, but I use Calendar so much it's a pretty bad one.

ICal alerts don't work with smart cover closed?

Is this by design? If I have an event set for an alarm in ical, then i have my smart cover closed to cover the iPad...the alarm won't go off until I lift the smart cover. It could be an hour or so past the event, but I won't know that until I open the cover. This basically eliminates the use of using iCal alert system.
Am I missing something? Would love for the alarm to go off to remind me of meetings etc regardless if the smart cover is closed or not.

Alarms beep on my iPad 2 with the cover closed. You must not have it set up correctly. Is Calendar included in your Notification Center alerts? Mine is set for Alerts, Badge App Icon ON, and View in Lock Screen ON.

Testing Subscription Alerts\Notifications

I have set up subscriptions to go to text messages for our On Call person, this is how they are alerted of issues to be resolved. Is there a way to send out a TEST MESSAGE when they change the change the alert from one person to another to make sure
that the alerts\notifications are actually working and getting to their phones after the switch?

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.
