ICal and the new LG enV (9900).

I am looking to get the new LG enV since I have Verizon and can not get the iPhone (sigh...). I have been looking around and can't find an answer, so I came to the smartest mac people arond! Annyone know if you can sync iCal with the enV? If you need anything special, what would that be? I have found lots of posts about music, but none on this. Any help would be great. Thanks!

I was having the same problems and got it to work. Here is what I did. Don't know if you have to do it all, but it work for me.
Let me know if it works for you.
1. Back up iCal. Command is File menu.
2. Delete all iCal preferences in User Library.
3. I also deleted all the iCal related items in Application Support from the User Library.
4. Open iCal (all items were still show even after all the file deletions, but it did matter)
5. Delete each of the Calendars you have defined in iCal. Right click on each one in left pane and select "Delete".
6. Quit and reopen iCal to make sure it is coming up blank.
7. Restore backup (command under File menu)
8. Open MobileMe System Preference pane.
9. Click on Advance Button
10. Click on Reset Data. Select just the iCal app and set it to replace Mobile Me data with data from your Mac.
11. Go back to MobileMe System Panel main and click on Sync Now to test (make sure iCal is selected).
It should sync without the error. As soon as I did this I picked up my iPhone and my previously empty Calendar was fully populated with all items. It was NOT connected to my Mac; it pushed through the cloud like it is supposed to. I then added a calendar item to my iPhone (not connected) and (since I didn't want to wait a few minutes) hit sync on my Mac and the item showed up in iCal. BINGO!

iCloud should still help you reduce some hard drive space. Just select "optimize" in the icloud tab in Mac Photo App preferences.
Granted, not the same as completely offloading your library to a back-up drive at your location.

When I downloaded Foxfire the home page came up with "Meet Mozilla Foxfire" then below that it shows "Become a Firefox Expert in 8 Easy Steps". I would like to delete this and in lieu of that show recent highlights and the news. I have no problem with the tool bars they are fine just the home page.

Yes you can copy the content to your new machine and use Home Sharing to keep the content identical
Connect the two machines via an ethernet cable it is 3 times faster than Wifi. Turn wifi off on one machine to enforce ethernet connection
In System Preferences, Sharing turn on File Sharing
Then
Copy the music/itunes folder from the Macbook pro to the music/ folder on the imac
Both machines should now have the same library
Disconnect H the ethernet cable
Set up Home Sharing and under Settings at the bottom of the Home Sharing page. Select to transfer new purchases.
Do the same on the other machine.
Then when you r machines are connected by wifi and each time you start itunes it will transfer your new purchases

Here is the information I have. The external hard drive is a 120GB Acomdata. It has both USB and Firewire. When I go to plug in to the mac mini through USB, it is not being recognized. When I switch to Firewire on the old computer I can see it, however when I go to USB it is not being recognized (even on the old computer).
I'm at a loss as to what to do. Any advice would be helpful.

Currently I have Netware 6.5.7 SB suite/ has GroupWise.
I want to move to the Linux platform with OES2/NOWS.
The "Boss" wants to keep the current domain: [email protected]
He wants to change it to a new web site domain name:
[email protected]
I already have the web site redirected.
Type in old domain name and it goes to new domain name.
He will however drop the old domain in a few months after all customers make
the change.
I am sure that this happens to many companies that change their domain name.
How can I do this?
Can I use my old server (GroupWise/Netware) with the old domain email
addresses and the new Linux server with the new domain address at the same
time?
Alternatively, could somehow redirect all mail from the old email address to
the new one?
The problem is, I have a lot of email on the older Netware server that I
still need.
Could it be transferred to the Linux server?
Any advice that you can provide will be appreciated very much.

N95 and the New Ford Focus (post 09/08) Sony Bluet...

I have a really annoying problem with my N95 and the New Ford Focus (post 09/08) Sony Bluetooth system. The phone connects no problem at all and I can make and receive calls. Selecting some of the directory information on the Sony system such as phone book or missed calls shows that the Sony system is trying to read these from the phone without much success. Even after 20 minutes it seems to have either hung or states that the function is sometimes unavailable. I would be reasonably happy if this was the only problem I had was experiencing but I find than within 10 - 25 minutes of connecting the phone it disconnects from the Sony system. The disconnection seems to be caused by the Sony Bluetooth system as any other functions such as the CD or USB reset themselves which is itself annoying.
I have tried connecting the phone manually, reducing the items in my address book from 150 to 50 to nothing, pairing, un pairing all to no effect.
The Ford connectivity site says that the N95 is fully compatible from 09/08 no I am struggling slightly to understand what the problem might be.
My O2 N95 version is 21.0.016 which is higher than the version Ford has tested but they also mention that there are no incompatible versions of the OS.
Has anybody else experienced these problems or aware of a fix?

Hi and Thank you for your question, I agree we would not be in this situation if ford and nokia would take customers seriously...anyways what you need to do is first in my country south africa the bluetooth for the focus is not an option at all, then you will be required to buy the kit from ford, which include several items that comes separately e.g the stalk for the steering control that has a voice button, a bluetooth module and a mic and a cable to interlink everything, from there onwards, get someone or yourself to fit the kit in the car once that is done you will then need to go back to your dealership/shop and request then to reprogramme the car with a IDS Machine with the SRM module....please read further for more instructions...

Day 11 of 14, New too Verizon and the new Thunderbolt, do we keep it or send it back?

I have had a number of surprises so far after coming to Verizon with the new Thunderbolt.. We ordered 2 bolts. The battery issue was disappointing, but a bigger battery will fix it, and/or a daily charge seems to take care of it.
I live in the country on fridge of the city, my wife came from provider Sprint, and I came from AT&T. We never had problems with our prior carriers, but must be out of range for the Verizon tower due to the bad signal and sound quality when making calls from the house. Verizon suggested a network extender, so we had them send us one. It did fix the signal and the noise problems at home. Plus can take with us on the road,, guess this problem is fixed too.
My wife's Bolt had static and noise in any area, 3G or 4G. Mine has been great. I called Verizon they said to take it to a Verizon store for an exchange. I bought the phone online with Verizon, but the brick and mortar stores said they could not do it, I complained and did get them to change out the wife's Bolt. The replacement serial and mac address was several thousand letters and numbers higher, so expect her phone was built early, but the new replacement is quiet, no noise problem solved.
The 4G is very fast, speetest.net I was surprised how fast it is. I love the phone, but I worry with all the issues people keep finding, and I really have not seen any official Verizon communications on what is actual and what might be in progress to fix for good. Forums are great, but does Verizon read these posts?
I am on day 11 of 14. First timer to Verizon, Thunderbolts aside, do you like them as a wireless carrier? Thunderbolt's, we like them very much, but I now wonder if maybe insurance is a good idea, seems like we may have many issues in the future too. I was on the build team for the HP Glisten, we had many issues on our first phones too, but eventually got it fixed too, in fact the prototype I still had when I left AT&T to come to Verizon. I think we are going to give the phones a couple more days of heavy workout, and then decide.

So far so good, a few hiccups but Verizon has supported me so far on each issue. Some responders from the support line where not as good as others, but I did find several who were more than helpful. The forums here are helpful too, aggravation does make some of the posts bias against the phone, but there are some good posts out there and the solution found posts will help us all.
Everyone who owns a Thunderbolt just needs a little patience, it is a new and powerful device. I'm sure HTC and Verizon are working out the confirmed bugs, and will roll out confirmed updates when they have gathered more data. When I was prototyping the obsidian, which we marketed as the glisten, we had many issues too, but in the end worked most of them out.
The thunderbolt should also follow same result as long as Verizon and HTC keep it in the front line, so far they are still marketing it, even with having the Iphone now in their portfolio. I viewed a wirefly.com smackdown between the Thunderbolt and the new Iphone, and to me, I do like the Thunderbolt best. On to day 12, so far so good.
