ICal file download, but can't import

I can't seem to find this situation in these forums, so if it's been answered, pardon me. Okay, so I've been on with a website IT rep for two days and we can't figure the problem, so I'll throw it out here. I am an ice hockey official and our scheduling is done through an assigning website. There are ways to download an individual game file for either iCal or Google Calendar, then import them, one at a time - which seems to work fine for me. However, that is fine for a game or two, when trying to do an entire season, it gets very tendious. Hence, there is also a way to download one's entire schedule. That's where I run into problems. It doesn't seem to want to import any events at all. I've checked the file with a validator and it's fine. I emailed the file to the tech, he says it's fine. However, no matter what I try, I can't get that file to import. If it helps, here's what I'm running. iCal 5.0.1, OS 10.7.2, and for this website and download I'm using FireFox 8.0.1 (Safari isn't supported for their site). Any ideas? The tech suggested I change the .ICS file to a .TXT file and look at it in Text Editor, but I'm lost there. I'd be happy to cut and paste the text code in an email to you, if it would help. Any thoughts?

You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:

For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.

The installer of the MPEG-2 Playback Component may refuse to install the component in Lion. Apple states the component is unnecessary in Lion onwards, however MPEG Streamclip still needs it. See this:

The current versions of MPEG Streamclip cannot take advantage of the built-in MPEG-2 functionality of Lion. You don't have to install QuickTime 7.

TMG NIS definition files download but update fails during installation

Runnning Forefront TMG build 7.0.9193.500
When attempting to update the NIS definition files, the files download but fail to install and the following message is logged in the TMG alert section:
"Definition Updating Failed
Description: An error occurred during an attempt to check for, download, or install definition updates on the server ServerName.
The failure is due to error: 0x80240022"
When looking in the windowsupdate.log file, it appears that there is a permissions problem encountered during the update process (WARNING: ExtractUpdateFiles failed with 0x80070005)

Since it seemed to help some folks that were having trouble downloading the NIS updates, I have also tried downloading the updates with (winhttp) Proxy authentication on and off.
I have also tried recreating the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder (Stop wuauserv; Rename folder; Start wuauserv; Folder recreated)
Still no luck. Any help or direction you can provide is much appreciated.

I did some research regarding error “0x80070005”, you may perform the following steps and see if it helps:
Step 1: Verify DCOM security
1. Click Start, click Run, type Dcomcnfg, and then click OK.
2. Expand Component Services, and then expand Computers.
3. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
4. Click the COM Security tab.
5. Under Access Permissions, click Edit Default.
6. Verify that the following accounts are listed:
7. If any one of these accounts is missing in the Access Permission box, follow these steps:
a. Click Add, click Advanced, and then click Locations.
b. In the Locations box, click the Local_Computer_Name, and then click OK.
c. Click Find Now.
d. Press CTRL, click the required account names, and then click OK two times.
e. In the Group or User names box, click an account that you added, click Local Access in the Permissions for Account_Name box, and then click to select the check box in the Allow column.
f. Repeat step 7e for all the accounts that you just added, and then click OK.
Step 2: Verify DCOM default properties
1. Click the Default Properties tab.
2. Verify that the following configuration:
• The Enable Distributed COM on this computer check box is selected.
• In the Default Authentication level box, Connect is selected.
• In the Default Impersonation level box, Identify is selected.
3. Make any required changes, and then click OK.
4. Restart the computer.

The latest iTunes version is 11.0.1 version. 11.0.2 does not exist. Have you tried opening Apple menu > Software Update and install iTunes 11.0.1? If it doesn't show up, you have already iTunes 11.0.1

Tools > Downloads or {Ctrl + J} will open the Downloads window

No I haven't formatted it, but don't really know how to either? I am a bit of a newbie at this and thought i just had to buy any memory stick and it would work. can you suggest how to format it for FAT32 ( I don't know what this is either ) as I will be using the memory stick for windows also at a later date.

It sounds like you’re concerned because you don’t see your rentals in iTunes, but they appear to have downloaded. Take a look at the article below and check the Rentals tab in iTunes on your MacBook.
About renting movies from the iTunes Store - Apple Support
Find movies you rented previously
Find your movie on the device you used to rent it.
On a Mac or PC: Go to the Rentals tab in the Movies section of the iTunes Library.
On an iOS device: Go to the Rental tab of the Videos app.
Using Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation): Look in the top shelf of the main menu.

After much research and troubleshooting, GoToMeeting replied with the final answer: We do not support the uploading of recordings to editing software. If you are having issues uploading a recording, unfortunately, we do not have tools or steps to resolve this. It is not a supported feature. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
The no longer plan to support editing of recordings made with their software. So, we are planning to find a new meeting provider.

Did you log out of one account and into the other or just used Fast user switching?
Is the permissions set to anyone?
When you move data to teh Shared folder is it copied or just moved?
If copied then it's not a folder both can access, just a way station like a USB thumb drive that things are coped too and off of likely.
You can run this #5 on each user account to reset the user permissions once they are taken back out of the Shared folder
