ICal on Mac desktop to iPod Touch syncing problem

I have events on my iPod Touch that will not sync to my Mac OS 10.6.8 desktop.
What I've done that may have caused this:
I got a new MacBook for Christmas and so I tried syncing all 3 with iCloud, but that caused duplicate events
I tried only using MacBook & iPod Touch for sycing with iCloud and then directly syncing from my iPod with USB to my desktop, but it stopped syncing (later I found that my cord needed to be replaced, but I'm not sure if that was the problem - I was still dealing with some duplicate events, too)
I decided to stop using iCloud (I can do without using my iCal on my MacBook if there's no ideal solution to sync all 3 without duplications or other problems) and now my iPod Touch syncs well with my desktop for most items, but not all
I think my desktop thinks the events that are syncing have already been synced because they were in the past. The one that was important that I missed today, which is on my desktop (a repeating event) but is no longer on my iPod Touch, refuses to sync to my desktop. There may be more that I haven't noticed.
I thought maybe I could wipe my iPod Touch calendar and then sync my desktop to my iPod Touch, but I'm afraid that it might wipe my desktop as I don't know how to tell it to only go one way in syncing rather than acting as if it's a new program.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Be sure you've set your iPod to the correct time zone (ie, same as your computer). If you're on the East Coast it's three hours ahead of Apple HQ's time zone. A 5:00pm appointment in New York is at 2:00pm to someone using a Californian clock. Make sure your Touch isn't a Californian clock.

  • IPod touch sync problem with iCal

My iPod touch (3th gen) doesn't sync any new appointment with iCal anymore (and vice versa). He only sync the older appointments, even when replacing all data from iCal to the iPod. I think the problem started since installing OS X Lion. I do not work with MobileMe, but directly via iTunes. How can I solve this problem?

Did you try to click either "all" or "selected"? If you click "selected" you need also to click on the different calenders that you set up. For example, if you have djm027 calender (that is calender for yourself), another calender for sister, another calender for your brother and so forth. You need to click them all if you want to be seem on your iPod Touch. And if you only want yours then you just click djm027. I am not sure if this help. This is how I fix the problem myself.

  • HT3281 64G iPod Touch sync problem with podcasts

2 of 6 podcasts didn't load when I sync'd my 64G iPod Touch.  They appear to be in the podcast library on my laptop of purchased podcasts. What do I need to do to get them to sync?

If they are video podcasts to are in the iPod's Video app.
Also, if video podcasts is the format compatible with your model iPod?

  • IPod Touch sync problem with MS Office Outlook Contacts

Having successfully syncd complete MS Ofice Outlook Contacts to my new IPod Touch, I am finding that subsequent changes to both IPod and Outlook Contacts are not sycning. On the other hand Calendar is working perfectly!

Not sure if I need to post my question as a separate entry, but let me first try here since this topic came up.
I have set up iTune to sync my Outlook calendar and contacts, with "replace items on iPod with Outlook" option checked. When I connect my iPod, the status bar says it is syncing with Calendar and Contacts. But nothing is changed if I open my contacts/calendar on my iPod. Any idea?

  • IPod Touch syncing problem

I purchased Chris Brown's CD Fortune at F.Y.E. and imported it to my iTunes. After this, I attempted to sync my iPod. The message, "iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPod "Josh's iPod" because the apps installed on the iPod could not be determined." What should I do?

First make sure all of the apps in your iTunes library are up to date by going to the Apps section of your iTunes library and choosing the Update button in the lower right hand corner.  Once you have confirmed this, restart your iPod Touch with it still plugged in to a USB port by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
    Then try resyncing your device.

  • HT1386 ipod touch sync problem

I have the latest generation ipod touch and have just downloaded 11.5 itunes. I recently purchased some songs on itunes and it downloaded to my PC just fine. The ipod touch however is not allowing me to transfer those 3 songs to its library. Does it have anything to do we my library being backed on the cloud?

I also do not want to lose the 400 songs I have on my ipod touch currently, by choosing the option to "erase all existing music. . and sync with this itunes library ".

  • Ipod touch syncing problems

    Hello to potential helpful people,
I have the latest Ipod touch 64GB which up until a couple of months ago was giving me no problems, but for some reason, It randomly (from no request of mine) deleted the majority of songs off my ipod, so that whenever I played my music on shuffle it wouldn't play most songs! I couldn't find anything to solve this problem on the support site, so I restored my ipod and started again from scratch.
The sync has now completed, HOWEVER, it has only copied a third of my music onto my ipod and wont sync anymore. According to Itunes, the "Other" storage capacity section is taking up 31.23 GB on my ipod which is just not right. I don't use contacts, messages, emails or anything that falls into the "other" category on my ipod, so I don't know what it means!
I have checked on my ipod and I cant find anything anywhere which says something is taking up a lot of storage but because of this itunes will not sync anything else to my ipod.
I have 4130 songs, which says will take up about 21.76 GB, 1 video which will take up approx 8GB, over 4000 photos taking up 2.90 GB and finally 45 apps taking up 6.32 GB. This is all I have on there, nothing else should be taking up any space!!! And all of this does not come to 64GB. So it should sync all my music!!!
On my ipod, in the "About" section is says my ipod has 11 songs on it and no videos, however all my photos and all my apps are corrently counted. BUT when I click on "songs" and then "shuffle" in my music section, when it plays the first song it says 1 of 1652. It makes no sense!!! Nothing is relating to anything and I'm really at the end of my patience.
This is incredibly frustrating, Please someone help me!
    Thank you in advance.
    Kim

Restore your iPod Touch, as described here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
    Do not restore from backup.
Recover your content back by simply syncing with iTunes do not restore.

SO I RE-DOWNLOADED MY ITUNES AGAIN, EVEN THO IT WAS UPDATED.
BUT STILL KEPT GETTING THE SAME RESULTS.
I TRIED DIFFERENT USB CABLES AND PORTS. BUT NOTHING.
I RAN A DIAGNOSIS TEST ON ITUNES AND EVERYTHING CAME OUT GREAT, BUT IT SAID IT COULDNT
FIND NO IPOD CONNECTED EVEN THO IT WAS.
SO IDK IF THE IPOD COULD BE THE PROBLEM.
I UPDATED MY VIRUS SECURITY PROGRAM AND OTHER UPDATES FROM THE COMPUTER.
I HAVE HAD THIS IPOD FOR ABOUT 1 1/2 YR AND I NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE.
PLEASE HELP ME IF U CAN HELP ANY TIPS OR ADVICE !!!
    THANK U GOD BLESS.

I also am hoping someone can help - I just logged in to post this same problem.  I've been trying for days and have had no luck.  Plugged in my iPod, downloaded the update fine and it failed at "verify ipod restore" and put my device in Recovery Mode.  Can't get it out after trying tons of things, including different computers.  Decided finally to just run the Recovery and it's failing at the same part and both are giving me a "9" error.  I'm missing my iPod Touch!!

  • New ipod touch syncing problems?

My old laptop crashed and subsequently i couldn't save all my music. All of my music is however on my old ipod (around 2800 songs compared to 2400 on itunes).
I've got a new ipod touch and want to get all of my 2800 songs on it, but it only has 2400. I tried this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329 but it hasn't worked and i'm clueless as to how to actually get all of my music from my old ipod onto itunes and my new ipod.
On another note, all of the songs in my new ipod on itunes are grey and therefore unplayable. Any ideas as to why?

I still have 400 songs less on my library than on my old ipod. I plugged my ipod touch into my computer to see if it was still the same, and now none of my applications work either! Can anyone tell me what's going on? Or should i just take my laptop and both ipods to the Apple store and see if there's anything they can do?

  • How can I save some pics from my Mac onto my Ipod touch?

How can I save some pics from my Mac to my Ipod Touch ?

Syncing photos with iTunes is explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
You'll have to choose the photos you want to sync in the photo pane in iTunes with your phone connected, then apply sync.

  • IPod touch sync freezes

iPod touch sync freezes at calendar sync, wired or wireless. Have rebooted computer and restored ipod to no avail. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help. After running "Activity Monitor" and going through the iTunes/iPod Touch sync process I was able to determine the suspect application that most likely caused the conflict.
While watching "Activity Monitor" almost immediately an application called "CNQL1208_ButtonManager" crashed - locking up the computer. I was able to determine by checking out a few bulletin boards that this application is the culprit in more than one problem on both Macs and Pc's. It's an app that gets loaded at start-up, which monitors the buttons on the front of my Canon Scanner (Model LiDE 35). Part of the CanoScan software download/driver for this model. I trashed this file and everything appears to work fine. In fact, the sync with my iPod touch seems to happen much faster.
The other possibility is that there was a conflict with PalmBackground Monitor, but this doesn't appear to be the case.
Thanks again for the Activity Monitor suggestion.

  • Basically... I had an ipod touch sync'd to my dads i tunes.. i then got an iphone and created my own apple id.. how could i transfer the media from my ipod which was used on a different apple id onto my own account without everything deleting

basically... I had an ipod touch sync'd to my dads i tunes.. i then got an iphone and created my own apple id.. how could i transfer the media from my ipod which was used on a different apple id onto my own account without everything deleting

Syncing an iDevice to a computer does not remove content from the computer.
Syncing an iDevice to a computer that it does not normally sync with will remove the content from that device.
If the media was acquired with a different Apple ID it is in no way linked to your Apple ID.
