Ical week view not working

Hello!
I've been using ical for ages and have never had a problem before. Completely out of the blue I can no longer view my calender in week view. When I select 'week' the whole window disappears. I then have to goto 'view - month/day' to see the window again. How can I stop it doing this? It will happily change between month and day, but week seems to be hidden. it's frustrating.

Two major changes have occurred...
1. Week view used to start on Monday, now Sunday (and can't change it back).
2. If you look at the week October 2-8, 2011 there are 2 Saturdays and no Friday or following Saturday...
Any ideas? Is this a wait for ios5.1 issue?

If you are using a Mac, go to Settings>Software Update ... check for any updates, and update all.
Chances are you are not using iTunes 10.5, which is required to sync iOS 5.
If youare using a PC, suggest you uninstall your iTunes, download fresh iTunes 10.5 from Apple.com/itunes and install it.

Order by in MATERIALIZED VIEW not work successfully with first column (ID)

I am trying to create a Materialized View as below:

where rownum < 5000 order by employee_id desc ;But while querying the MATERIALIZED VIEW, it did not work successfully as the data did not appear in the accurate order.
I tried to create the same MATERIALIZED VIEW but order by another column (Column Date), it worked successfully and the data appeared in the accurate order.
It means that MATERIALIZED VIEW not work successfully with the first column (id).
Can you please help me in this ?

A few pointers :
1. As has been pointed out, the ROWNUM has been incorrectly placed. ROWNUM values are assigned as rows are fetched from the source before the ORDER BY. You need to ORDER BY first (in a SubQuery) and then ROWNUM afterwards (outside the SubQuery).
2. I wonder why you want only the last 5000 EMPLOYEE_IDs. What if Employee_ID 1 is still an active employee (he is the founder, first employee and CEO ?). There could be very many "low" EMPLOYEE_IDs that are still active.
3. Logically I would expect some filter other than the ROWNUM ... ORDER BY to be used to select candidate rows. Then, an ORDER BY in the CREATE query would be unnecessary.
4. When querying the Materialized View you must explicitly ORDER BY (irrespective of whether you did or did not do an ORDER BY in the CREATE ...)
5. How do you expect to refresh the MV ? Will it always be a COMPLETE Refresh ? Remember that your "5000 employees" filter would likely exclude older employees at the next refresh. If you use some other filter, it should be consistent across all refreshs.

Same problem. Am using Firefox 24 (W7x64).
I've tried setting it to use the built-in PDF viewer, to always asking, to using Adobe plugin, to using Nitro plugin.
I changed the pdfjs.disabled in about:config to true but that didn't help.

What version of Lomboz are you using? J2EE View was available in Lomboz 2.x releases and is not found in later releases. These olde versions used a lightweight JSP editor based on jasper. Your message looks like it is related to that.
I would recommend upgrading to one of the later releases such as 3.3, which can be found at:

MY iCal alarms do NOT work...

MY iCal alarms do NOT work since January 2009! Not during Leopard and not now in Snow Leopard. I have tried desperately to get my sounds back and checked ALL preferences for iCal. Anyone else have this problem and WHAT can I do about it? What is the "fix" for this stupid glitch???? 911...

I did go to my Apple Sore and traipsed up to the Genius Bar with my 24" iMac... AFTER I made a reservation online of course. I do have that great little AppleCare Protection card.
The good news is that Brad, my genius, at the Apple Store Genius Bar fixed my problem! My iCal now pops up my alarms which I "hear" clearly and on time! *Problem fixed in 5 minutes. WOWZER!* He also told me the iCal problem wasn't my fault, there were some files he needed to delete in my library and cache folders and that the problem seemed to be just a glitch that shouldn't happen again. He didn't know why the files where there... they just were. Thank you, Geniuses at my Apple Store in the Millenia Mall, Orlando, Florida.

Do you have Flash installed? You need a different version of it for Firefox. The plugin for IE will not work with Firefox. You can get it here:

Customized strings in iPad viewer not working?

Hello,
per request of client i've tried to change one string in viewer for iPad. So i've created template in DSP App Builder, modified this template on my computer, choose this file in App Builder and prepared another build (V28). Unfortunately, i still see old original string (i've double tested that i'm downloading new version of app). When i now check DPS App Builder, it just says "Asset stored on server", so i asume, that everything goes smoothly on this side.
Any similar experience with customized strings?

That's odd. It worked for me when I tested it. Perhaps you should try moving the current xml file to a different folder, downloading a new version, copying and pasting, and rebuilding.

ICal Week view, Date is not aligned with the Time(schedule) of each date

Well, just like it says over there (`` ). I've recently been to China for a business trip, and I suppose the different time zone may have had something to do with the problem. Now I'm back home, changed the time zone back to normal, still the iCal shows in the weekly view that the Date on the above is not aligning with the Time and schedule. Any suggetions would be grateful!!!

scheduling type i planned order is still "backwards"
so in MD04 it is say that the goods is available at 15.10.2009 same with requirement dates.
this seem not right.
it seems that order finish date is not adjusted by lead time scheduling on "today scheduling".
Is there a way so order finish date is adjusted by lead time scheduling on "today scheduling" ????

ICal week view format

I use iCal for all my scheduling and in a busy household a printed hard copy on the refrigerator is helpful. I would like to use the weekly view but find the format unfriendly- both printed and displayed on screen . I would prefer to have the days of the week along the verticle axis and the time along the horizontal. I would rather use Apple's native iCal instead of a different third party product. Is there any kind of plug-in or dodad to provide this format? If not does anyone know of an alternative application that will provide this format and work seamlessly with the Apple way of doing things?

ICal Week view acting strange

Hi. Is is just me or iCal's week view is acting really strange under Snow Leopard? I just upgraded to 10.6.2, and the problem continues, so I decided to post here.
The problem is the following: when iCal is in Week view, showing 7 days per week (as opposed to 5, workdays), I can scroll just a couple of weeks forward or backwards before it goes crazy. Sometimes it shows 6 or 5 days instead of 7 in the top of the window (but a different number of days in the appointments area itself, so that it appointment is shown between two days), sometimes it stops scrolling, sometimes an appointment appears to be in the wrong date (a birthday in 22-oct appears to be in 21-oct in week view, but appears in the right date in month and day views).
The problem only manifests itself when preferences are as following:
- Days per week: 7
- Start week on: Sunday
- Scroll in week view by: weeks
Any other combination makes it work fine (unfortunately this is exactly the way I wanted it to work...)
I have submitted this problem to Apple as a bug report, but got no answer (not a surprise here...). Is anybody else having the same problem? It is making me crazy not to know whether this is specific to me and my machine or a general bug.

i know exactly what you're talking about. I've been having the same exact issues you've listed, plus more. my repeating appointments (my semesters worth of classes) shift an hour back or forwards, but only after certain dates. its a whole bunch of weird stuff and it also only happened after Snow Leopard. i also sync via mobile me to my iphone, and the incorrect times push onto my iphone. anyone heard of this or solutions?

Week view not viewable

My iCal works fine when I select day or month view, but when I select week view the window disapears. It's not hiding off the screen somewhere as expose doesn't bring it in, but I can still view info about events and even print the week view. I just can't see it.
Help please?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Try deleting iCal's preference file.
To do this, quit iCal. In Finder go to Home/Library/Preferences. Move the file here called com.apple.ical.plist to the Trash. Re-start iCal.

Quick View not working in Finder

Quick View in Finder is not working for me. Whether I right click on an item in Finder (Word doc, pdf) or press the Space Bar, it is not working. I restarted the computer and have closed and reopened the Finder windows to no avail.
Anybody else having this problem on their MBA?
Don't know if it's pertinent, but I have had my MBA 13" for about two weeks, and I used Migration Assistant to transfer all of my stuff from a 15" MBP.

A workaround has been posted on the SugarSync forum here:

In Finder, go to the Applications folder, Right click (or Ctrl click) on SugarSync Manager application
Select Show Package Contents
In the new Finder window that opens, go to Contents/Plugins and delete SugarSyncCMPlugin.cocoa.plugin.
After deleting these files, just restart Finder (or log out and log back in to your computer)
Note: by deleting the plug-in you are disabling Finder extensions completely. You will lose overlay icons and context menus untill we fix the problem. We apologize for the inconvenience and will get an update out as soon as possible.

Week view only works properly when begins on Sunday

I'm having a problem in which my week-view gets scrambled whenever I try to start the week-view on any day other than Sunday. I am currently working in a country where the work week begins on Saturday. But when I choose "Saturday" as the 1st day of the week in the preferences, my calendar gets scrambled; evens that should be on Thursday (for example) show on Wednesday; events which are on Sunday (for example) show as being on both Saturday and Sunday. If I go back and set "Sunday" as the first day, or switch to the Month view, everything is fine.
I've tried erasing the .plist files in preferences, etc. Any ideas? Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I can't replicate the problem. Have you any calendar synchronising turned on?
You could try exporting your calendars, then deleting them. Then quit iCal and delete all its preference files (~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal*.plist - there should be 3 or 4), restart iCal and then import your calendars.

Bug in iCal weekly view

The weekly view in the default Calendar app on my ipad shows events ONE DAY BEHIND the correct date of the event. For example if I create an "all day" event for Friday 23rd July it will appear correctly on the 23rd in ALL VIEWS EXCEPT THE WEEKLY VIEW where it displays on the 22nd? This is happening with all entries. I have tried deleting & recreating the event and have tried re-boots etc., but the problem remains. Can someone help?

You can disable the context highlighting if you find that distracting. In this case it should make noticing that something is wrong more easily though. A link starts with a quote and ends with a quote and everything between the two is considered the link. If the second quote is omitted then it is the choice of the developer on how to deal with it. Either not to interpret the text in between (you may even have forgotten to HTML escape some characters &quote; &lt;) or try to catch up in case you forgot a closing quote. Both can have their disadvantages in case of an error from you.
