ICloud emails deleting themselves...

Facebook worth $100b? This one is as mindboggling...
Scenario:
Since I upgraded to iCloud from Mobile.me incoming emails to my me.com account are automatically deleting themselves every time mail is refreshed. Emails disappear from icloud.com, my iPad and iPhone, yet they remain in the Mail application inbox on my MacBook Pro.
Background:
All three devices are running the latest OS.
I only have one iCloud account.
I haven't touched any settings within Mail.
I've tried deleting and reinstating the iCloud accounts on the iPad and iPhone.
I've restored data on the iPad and iPhone.
I've rebooted the iPad and iPhone.
I have been for a long walk...
There have been no changes to any settings on any devices since migrating to iCloud.
Apart from everyday rules allocating emails to various files, there are no rules set up in Mail to delete emails or similar (and nothing has been touched since migration).
Sent emails are successfully synching across all three devices.
Any ideas would be *very* welcome, cheers.
Bill

Well, it turns out that Facebook can't sustain an initial $100b valuation after all; and maybe this problem isn't as mindboggling either...
Having tried various scenarious to see any made a difference, I found that when I quit the Mail application on the MacBook, the emails on the iPad and iPad stayed in place.
Although no new rules or filters had been put in place since migration - and none had ever been in place to delete emails - I tried removing all the rules completely.
Again, this worked, and all emails on all devices stayed in place.
However, as soon as any rule is installed, eg to put all emails sent to a certain address into a particular folder, the deleting problem starts again across the board.
I've reported the issue to Apple who have been helpful and they're investigating.
An inbox swollen with unfiltered email is far better than no email at all...

  • TS4002 icloud email deletes large blocks of text randomly

In a windows based environment, icloud email deletes large blocks of text randomly. So while typing emails, often the entire body of text is deleted randomly.  Any solution for this problem?

Thanks Tikibar1.  Sadly, I thought I had done my due diligence (search) prior to posting.  But, clearly not :-(   Yes, this pretty much describes my experience (in much more colorful and emotional tones ;-)
Will continue to follow the other thread and consider other more official channels suggested there (so I too can perform a factory reset :-(
    thanks again...

  • Read emails deleting themselves

I saw on the verizon help website that read emails can only be deleted when it is manually done, however my emails are deleting themselves after a certain number of days without me doing anything. Is there a way to stop the emails from deleting?
    THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!

OK, that helps, now we know your environment.
Verizon's policy is to delete emails that are left in your Inbox after 30 days. Here is a link to some information from Verizon on this policy:
    http://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/HighSpeed/Email/Troubleshooting/QuestionsOne/85628.htm
Now if emails are being deleted in less than 30 days, I have no idea, there are no settings in either the Basic or Rich webmail clients that will affect how long an email is kept in the Inbox.
You should be able to ensure that emails are not lost by creating additional folders (at leat one) and moving any emails you want to keep to those folders. There is a My Folders item in the list on the left side of the window with an icon you can click on to create a folder. I highly encourage you to do this, as if you create folders with meaningful names you will be able to find saved emails more easily anyway.
One more thing: if you are on a FiOS or reasonably high-speed DSL internet connection you might want to switch to the Rich client, it provides some additional function over the Basic client (but not any option about how long emails will be kept in the inbox).
And I guess I will add that if you have not already done so, you should probably choose the option in Mail under My Settings to save your sent messages.
Edit to add: another way to fix this issue would be to stop using the web interface and instead use a PC based client like Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail. those clients download the emails from the Verizon mail server to your PC and store them there, so they are then completely under your countrol, and can be accessed even when you do not have an internet connection. One down side of doing this is that those stored emails are not available if you do not have access to the PC they are stored on (although most PC clients do offer an option to leave emails on the server for a user-specified period of time).
    Hope this helps.

  • Emails deleting themselves on Blackberry Pearl after a few hours

I have set up an Email account on my Blackberry Pearl for a UKmail Exchange email account so I can see my emails on my Blackberry. However after a few hours the incoming emails are deleting themselves only leaving the sent emails. Emails are deleting themselves before I can see them.
I've looked in Email Settings but there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to stop them. Has anyone had the same problem?

Check and see if your WiFi is on. I had (have) the same problem when I leave it on and go to work. The phone constantly searches for WiFi and the battery at a record pace. I turn it on only when I am at home or where I can access WiFi, other times I leave it off.
I also hear the Ebay app is a huge drain.
I also limited the home pages, I had over twelve that i think were constantly updating. I limited it to one.
Maybe one or all of these will help.
    Regards.
It's always funny when it's someone else.

  • My emails keep deleting themselves on iPad air

    Hi
My emails delete themselves and I cannot find them in any folders

What email service are them from?  Yahoo?  gmail?  icloud?  ???  Are you sure the service is an IMAP service. If so, when you delete an email on one device, it deletes from all devices.  Or.. do you have a rule defined that deletes emails given a criteria?

  • How to stop ios mail deleting icloud email from mac mail?

    This is driving me insane.
I have an icloud email address set up on my iphone and mac mail.
I want to leave emails on my phone 'on the server'. Read them when i'm out, delete them... come home and have them all come through on mail where i'll deal with them.
Right now if I delete them on my phone, they're deleted on mac mail also.
I have all my regular email addresses set up to do this. Except the one icloud address I want to move everything to!!!

    Hello there David DW,
It sounds like your iPhone does whatever your iPad does with regard to joining or forgetting a Wi-Fi network. From what you are describing it seems to me that iCloud Keychain is enabled, as this is a function of that feature. The only way to stop what you are seeing from happening is to disable iCloud keychain on one of the devices:
Frequently asked questions about iCloud Keychain
iCloud Keychain keeps your Safari website usernames and passwords, credit card information, and Wi-Fi network information up to date across all of your approved devices that are using iOS 7.0.3 or later or OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later.
You can do this in your iCloud Settings:
    iCloud: Change iCloud feature settings
On your iOS device’s Home screen, go to Settings > iCloud, then tap to turn on or off iCloud features.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,

  • How do I change icloud email when my apple ID has been updated to new email? Because of the update on apple ID, when I try to delete icloud account I have to put in the password, and it says username or password is invalid (because no longer apple ID).

How do I change icloud email when my apple ID has been updated to new email? When I try to delete icloud account (in settings-icloud-delete account) I have to put in the password for the apple ID of my old email address, which is no longer my apple ID, and it says username or password is invalid (I'm guessing because that is no longer my apple ID).

You will wait for the rest of your life. You need to fix it; no one else will. To turn off "Find my iPhone" and its associated Activation Lock you need the Apple ID and password that were used to turn it on. If you know the Apple ID you can contact Apple Account Security and have them reset the password (after you prove you are the rightful owner of that Apple ID). see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699.
If you don't know the Apple ID the phone is permanently unusable.

What if I do not want to use IMAP or Exchange?  I do not like being forced to use technology I do not trust.
No, it is not a bug. It is working as designed. And there is noting in the manual that staes you can create folders for a POP account.
You do know that any email sent through a POP account stays on the provider's server (often for years) even if you delete it from your inboxes, right? Completely beyond your control. Refusing to use an IMAP service doesn't protect you from anything.

  • How do I delete my iCloud email without deleting the files from the server?

I want to delete my iCloud email from a laptop I don't use much anymore. I am afraid if I do all the files will delete from the server as well. Is this true? If not, what are the best ways to go about deleting the account without harming the files on the server (in turn deleting all my email from synced iCloud devices)?

In Mail, delete the account, the server side will not be changed.

    help please

If the old ID ("email address") is your ID, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How can I delete my iCloud email accounts?

How can I delete my iCloud email accounts? I no longer own any apple devices and find that the email is at best unreliable. Also, I am having to deal with a good portion of daily tasteless spam content at the original @me.com address. As I no longer have any apple devices I wouldn't mind having the whole iCloud account deleted. I have already erased all of my information from the icloud.com site.

Then that is all you can do.
You currently can not delete an iCloud account.

  • HT5925 I have an iCloud email on my iPhone that is now old as hacked and unused. I can't access anything as it asks for that account info and I don't remember the password etc. How do I delete it and replace it with my new iPad email? ! Help..

I have an iCloud email and Yahoo email on my iPhone that is now old as hacked and unused. I can't access anything as it asks for that account info and I don't remember the password etc. How do I delete and replace it with my new iPad email? ! Help..

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.

  • I need to change my iCloud email address.  I changed it for my Apple id but I can't log out of iCloud to change it there.  Find my iPad is activated so I can't delete my iCloud account.  I don't have the email address the iCloud login has anymore.

I need to change my iCloud email address.  I changed it for my Apple id but I can't log out of iCloud to change it there.  Find my iPad is activated so I can't delete my iCloud account.  I don't have the email address the iCloud login has anymore so I can't have the password sent there.  To sum it up, iCloud has an old email for the account log-in.  I don't remember the password for the old email.  I have Find My iPad activated so the iCloud account cannot be deleted.  And I am already logged out of iTunes & App Store.

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple IDand that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.
