ICloud: i can't subscribe to shared calendar or memorandum

When someone invite me to share calendar or memorandum, i can't subscribe.!?

GeminiStargazer,
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You may want to try the Australian Holidays Calendar on iCalShare.com.
According to the publisher of that calendar:
"The Apple supplied Australian Holidays calendar is pretty dismal. This is an attempt at a much more accurate and useful version."

  • Alarms don't work and can't subscribe to shared calendars

I have just discovered that my alarms do not work, and I am not able to subscribe to shared calendars.
Re alarms - I have tried trashing iCal, downloading and re-installing it, trashing preferences, to no avail.
Re shared calendars - once I download the calendar, a drop down appears in iCal where my options are to cancel or subscribe. When I click susbscribe, the window freezes and nothing happens.
Any input would be most appreciated.

Have you tried installing Microsoft® Windows Script version 5.6? Since you are unable to uninstall the Desktop Manager, try manually deleting the folders from your computer (Task 3 in the following KB article) and removing the associated registry keys. http://bbry.lv/cmoQ5P  Then reinstall version 6.0.

  • Can't subscribe to shared calendars via Outlook.

We've been using the Sun Outlook connector for several years and just recently (three weeks ago) a lot of our users are reporting problems with subscribing to calendars and setting permissions within Outlook.
Users can view and share calendars in Comm Express just fine. When I install the connector and create a new profile I get all the calendars that I am currently subscribed to but cannot add additional calendars.
When I try to add a shared calendar that I have full permissions to I get one of the following errors:
"Unable to display the folder. Your profile is not configured to support this operation for this user."
    or
"The Search request to the Sun Global Address List server has timed out."
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Does this problem occur for all users?
If not which users are not affected and what is different about their setup (version of connector/Outlook/different calendar server/physical location etc.)?
When I try to add a shared calendar that I have full permissions to I get one of the following errors:

    or
"The Search request to the Sun Global Address List server has timed out."Let's go with the second option for the time being.
When you perform the search, what do you see in the directory server access/error logs? Do you see any log-running searches (high etime value) or any errors (err=<some number not 0>).
How long does it take for the error to come back.. instantly, seconds, minutes?

  • Can I create a shared calendar on iCal from the New iPad?

My company just gave out iPads for use to all field employees. My coworkers and I currently have an Outlook shared calendar that we utilize for scheduling our work. We can not access the shared calendars on our iPads, therefore I would like to create a shared calendar in iCal that we can all access for sharing our schedule as we were doing on Outlook. Is this possible?
NOTE: The idea is that I would like to use the iPad as the sole resource, instead of carrying our laptops around just to access the shared outlook calendar/schedule. The laptops are outdated junk that requires roughly 20 mins of time just to power up, connect and sign in to our servers...very inefficient.
    Thank you!

I have a bluetooth 2 keyboard from Brookstone, will it work with the iPad?

  • IPhone 3G - Can I open a shared calendar on my exchange server?

Active sync on the iPhone works great for contacts, email, my calendar, accepting/declining invitations, etc. I am not sure if it is possible or if I just don't know how to navigate the device to do this; can I open a shared calendar in my organization similar to how I can open someone else's calendar in Outlook on my desktop?

Found on Google's website and the first hit with a Google search for "syncing Google calendar iPhone".

  • HT4968 How can I take a shared calendar and recreate it using my personal ical rather than having to share?

Here's the deal.  I stepped into an administrative position last fall and began building an entire calender schedule for our summer 2014 program.  I put a lot of work into building two months, however I have only just realized that the apple ID is for the former person who had my job (she left herself logged in on the mac I am now using).  My fault for assuming the apple id and login would be the same as the email account I am responsible for.
I did manage to share one of the calendars I created using her apple ID, so I still have access, however, I'd feel better if I could somehow take this "shared" calendar and keep it as my own using the apple ID for the email account I'm responsible for.  In other words, is there a way to take a calendar that was shared with you by someone else and save it under my apple ID as MY primary calendar? I'm paranoid that this former employee will delete said shared calendar and I will have to start from scratch...

Before you start see if you can export the calendar to a .ics file via the File ➙ Export menu option.  In your own account import the .ics file and that, hopefully, will bring in all the work you've done so far.

  • Can't subscribe to .ics calendar

    Hello,
First of all, sorry for my bad English.
I have published a calendar from Ical to my private server (Imac running 10.6.2). When I want to subscribe to that .ics file from an other computer (other Imac running 10.6.2), it fails. When I subscribe from a computer running OSX 10.4 or 10.5 there's no problem.
    This is the error:
*There was an error subscribing to the calendar.*
*The data downloaded from http://server.name.lan/calendars/name.ics isn’t valid.*
I think the problem has to do with the server settings. But I don't know for sure and I don't know how to solve. The server is a Xserve running 10.5 server. For some reason Ical have permission top place the .ics file, but he can't acces is anymore. The permission settings are oke, everybody on the network can read and write the files.
I could send the errors if someone need them to help.
    Thanx

The authentication requested is a javascript form of the apple web interface to ical (Web server -> Sites -> Web Services -> Calendar). It is an apple application, i didn't set up any access control, if i go into the file system of http://www.my_site.com/ical (/Library/WebServer/Documents/my_site) there is nothing. It seems all saved under:
    bash-3.2# pwd
    /Library/CalendarServer/Documents/calendars/_uids_/08/46/084627AA-F6CF-481C-A0EF-421E878ADBCF/calendar
    bash-3.2# ls
    .db.sqlite a32259e5d9222e11c83f9b8487e0e041.ics
    bash-3.2#
and there must be an apple web application in order to interact with it, that is why i thought that the username and password defined in the publish calendar form were related to the apple authentication mechanism.
I'm using MacOSX server 10.6.2 on my own machine with my own domain. So what i'm doing is setting up the calendar web service on a test site, try to publish a calendar (from ical) to the location of the test site and then try to subscribe to the webcal:// ... link that he provides me.
If i try to access http://www.my_site.com/ical/calendar.ics or http://www.my_site.com/ical the apple web interface comes up asking me the credentials. If I enter the correct ones (defined in the publish form) i get the following message from the apple web interface:
    Mac OS X Server
    404: User does not exist
The path seems correct 'coze if subscribe from ical to webcall://www.my_site.com/ical/calendar.icsit tells me that:
There was an error subscribing to the calendar.
The data downloaded from http://www.my_server.com/ical/name.ics isn’t valid.
if i enter another path i will get this error:
A calendar wasn’t found on webcal://www.myserver/my_user/ical/mycalendar.ics. Check the URL.
If i would use an FTP application i would not find anything on that path because all is managed by the apple web service interface.
    Thanks !!

  • How can I subscribe to shared mail folder

    Hello,
I have added shared IMAP folder to my account on the mail server, but still can't see it on my MAC mail.
I can't see any shared folders to subscribtion list to subscribe to unlike having the same account on thunderbird-windows which I am able to see it perfectly.
How can I see the shared IMAP folder on MAC mail client too?
    Thanks.

The only hardware that's preventing me from upgrading to 10.8 "Mountain Lion" would be the fact that a Mid-2007 Mac mini doesn't have a separate graphics card...
...as all other hardware-components ar similar to the iMac Mid 2007... :
    - at least 2GB of PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM RAM
    - a 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo "Merom" processor
    - a WiFi-N compatible AirPort-card (I've upgraded the one in my Mac mini to an Atheros AR-9280...)
    - OSX 10.6.8 or later installed (I have OSX 10.7.5)
    - iPhoto 9.4
...so the only spec I not meeting hardware-wise is the fact that my Mac mini has a GMA950 shared graphics card...
but surely... that can not be the reason I can't subscribe to a Photo Stream...
why would that have anything to do with eachother ???!!!
[ I've even seen claims of tricked OSX 10.8 installers for the Mid-2007 Mac mini, so if that's my only option... ]

  • Ignore alarms not working on subscribed-to shared calendar

My wife shared her MobileMe calendar with me.  It shows up in my iCal as expected.  I see all the changes, updates, etc.
However, I have checked "Ignore Alarms" on the Info pane and I still get alarms for all her appointments.
    Any ideas?

It would appear it is not possible to turn off alarms to shared calendars in MobileMe. See here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2628443?start=0&tstart=0
I suggest you send Apple feedback about it: http://www.apple.com/feedback/

  • Can you change a shared calendar from private to public?

I created a shared private Calendar for my family. I would like to change it to a public calendar so I can view it in my MS Outlook for work. Is this possible to do without losing all of my current data?

Thank you for that, however I am not given the option to select public nor private. The calendar is already being shared so when I select the share button next to the calendar, the only items I see are the email addresses of the people I am sharing the calendar with.

  • Can't Subscribe to Google Calendars after Migration to Mountain Lion

I had my work Google canendars synciing fine with iCal on my old desktop running Lion.  After migrating to a new Mac Book with Mountain Lion, I cannot subscribe to my gCal's.  The error I get is "Server With Secure Communication Unavalable", which makes no sence.
    I've tried:
Chosing to use the calendar when adding the gMail account to Mail.app
Enabling the Calendar under the "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" Preference pane
Adding the account using Calendar.app's Preferences.
The suggestions I've been able to find don't apply, because we are not using Google's two-step validation.
Did Mountain Lion break something with the Google-Apps flavor of gCal?  Is there a way to add via URL?  I tried that using Safari, but it did not work well (created a iCloud Calendar, wouldn't allow me to change the assigned color and repeatedly threw an error for the same over a year-old event despite clicking the "Ignore" button).
    Ray

Found a work-around.  I don't know if this applies to all Google calendars, or just the Google-Apps ones:
Add the calendar as a generic CalDAV calendar.  Use your full (hosted) gMail address as the username and www.google.com as the server address.
Interrestingly, ML matched this up to the main Google account in the "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" Preference Pane

  • Can't subscribe to internet calendar

I have an outlook 2007 calendar at work that I was able to put online for sharing purposes. When I go to iCal and try to subscribe, I always get an error saying that an Unexpected secure name resolution error (code -9813). The server name calendars.office.microsoft.com may be incorrect.
I am clicking directly on the link. What is wrong?
    Thanks!

It is probably due to the Public vs. Private setting on your online sharing - see http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5934737&#6171814

  • How can I access a shared calendar from the web ?

    Hi !
I use OSX SL, iCal 4.0.4, MobileMe.
When I share an ical calendar, I can not access it from the web. I can share it with other ical users, but can not find the correct url to access it from Safari. I have been searching the net and find suggestions, but all of them is about using the url stated in the share-dialog. When I share a calendar, there is no url for web access.
    Hope someone can help.
    Sveino

There is a method for publishing a MobileMe calendar to a web page (as can still be done with an 'On My Mac' calendar, though of course that won't sync to other devices).
The method is almost a hack, and depends on what appears to be a bug in iCal, so there is no guarantee that it will work, or continue to work, or won't cause problems. Also it appears that once published the calendar cannot be removed from the web page, even if the original is deleted.
With those caveats in mind, please see this web page:
    http://homepage.mac.com/rfwilmut/notes/icalpublish.html
Note that there is a simpler method, involving exporting your MobileMe calendar as an .ics file, re-importing it as an 'On My Mac' calendar, and publishing it in the usual way. However of course it won't update if you update the MobileMe version, and if you make it the only version then of course it won't sync to MobileMe. It's one or the other, or use the hack described above.
