Icloud on WIN XP

Is there any possibility to use iCloud with WIN XP?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
iCloud Control Panel is only compatible with Windows Vista, 7 and 8, so you can't use it in Windows XP. However, if you already have an iCloud account, you can access to your iCloud data in http://www.icloud.com. The only feature you will lose is Photo Stream

Is the any plan near time that iCloud control panel can work in Win XP?
Sadly to say that my PC has no possibility to upgrade to Vista or Win &, since some of old tailor made application can only run in Win XP.
May be some body can help me with this question.
    thank you and regards,

You can hack iCloud control panel to work on Windows XP to give you synced access to Contacts, Calenders, Reminders and Bookmarks. It also can be used to set up your me.com mail.
I found a solution here, have written it up in clearer english and added details re IMAP support for me.com addresses here:
    http://xlii.be/s/1ii
    In summary:
    Requirements:
    iTunes 5.10
Unpacking program e.g. 7-Zip or WinRar
    Orca MSI editor
The iCloud setup hack for Windows XP:
Download iCloud Control Panel for Windows.
Open iCloudSetup.exe file with WinRar or 7-Zip and extract.
Navigate to and open the iCloud.msi or iCloud64.msi (for 64bit systems) with Orca.
In the left table select LaunchCondition. Then change in the right table “VersionNT> = 600” to “VersionNT> = 200” and Save.
    Run modified iCloud.msi and install.
Run iCloud Control Panel, located in the Windows Control Panel, and set up as you want.
    Have fun!

  • ICloud photos Win 7 not working

I have a Win 7 mediacenter PC. I'm trying to upload my photos to iCloud Photostream so that I can have them on my Apple devices. I have followed the instructions TO THE LETTER from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3989
However, the screen grab below reveals the following situation:
    1. It just sits there - does nothing - I have left this over night...
    2. You cannot minimize nor navigate from that window once the "add photos" button is pressed, you have to open a new explorerer window.
    3. I am trying to upload a folder of photos totalling about 2GB. I have a fast DSL connection and have not had a problem uploading before (Dropbox etc...)
What is going on here? Thanks...

  • How to forward multiple messages in icloud mail

I need to forward 22 messages in icloud to someone. I have created a folder and placed them in it. I am using icloud in Win 7 pro on an HP laptop (have iPhone 5) and have tried sending them on icloud in the following browsers: chrome, firefox, safari, internet explorer. When I select more than one message in the folder, then attempt to click on 'forward,' it is grayed out. It seems icloud only allows forwarding one message at a time. Some of these messages have lengthy attachments, so cutting and pasting them into one email individually is silly. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

The problem with mail is it uses a huge amount of broadband. Also takes up a lot of disk space. Thats why I use icloud mail. On both my imac and laptop I would be using double the broadband.
Sounds like there is no way to download several attachments at once on icloud mail?

  • HT1296 cannot get contacts from my ipad to sync to my iphone

I have and ipad2 adn iphone 4s I can not get the contacts and calendar to sync.  HELP
    kerry

To be honest, the easiest way would be using iCloud.
If you have iCloud enabled on your iPad, make sure (from the settings) you are storing your Contacts in iCloud. Then, on your computer install iCloud (Mac comes with iCloud), for win look: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1455
From iCloud settings (on your computer) enter the same apple id that you use on your iPad and activate Contacts sync. That should sync all your contact from your iPad to your computer.
If you don't have iCloud on your iPad, see: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ios.html
Let me know if you are stuck at some point.

My daughter and I have separate iCloud accounts set up on out desktop PCs and our iPhones and iPads. We want to share the usage of a Win 8 laptop and will log in using using separate user accounts. Is it possible to set up our own iCloud accounts in each of those separate user accounts?

No it is not possible.  Content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently tied to the account from which it was originally purchased, and Apple does not provide a way to change it.

  • The iCloud Control Panel will not intall on my WIN 7 32-bit PC

the iCloud Control Panel will not install on my WIN 7 32-bit PC. I receive the error message,
"There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program run as part of the install did not finish as expected. Contact your local support personnel or package vendor."
When the panel finished being "backed off" my PC, I also received the following message,
    "iCloud for Windows Installer Error.
The installer encountered errors before iCloud for Windows could be configured.
Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again.
Click FINISH to exit the installer."
Each time I tried to download and install the Control Panel, these messages would appear.
The Genius Bar was unable to help me and referred me to the ICloud Support Line. They were unable to help me.
I refuse to believe that Apple is unable to solve this issue with their own software, but if there is anyone in this august community that can help me, I would be forever grateful,
    Thank you.

I'm having the exact same problem, and the exact same error messages.  I have windows 8.1 64-bit.  I've tried looking for solutions everywhere.  I'm very frustrated.

  • Installed Win 8.1 and now no icloud?

I installed wiin 8.1 Pro last night and Outlook works fine but when I clicked on my icloud contacts folder ini Outlook 2010, there were no contacts there.
How do I get this to work with Win 8.1 pro (preview).

Because I really needed to view the info on new items available in the iTunes Store I experimented with my display settings.
By lowering the display settings to 1280x800
(still could not see bottom of box at that time)
and then raising it back up to 1440x900
I was finally able to see the bottom of the resized box
and now when the box is opened it maintains the new size.
Hopefully next upgrade the box will default to the lowest and not the largest box size on windows and you can resize from there..

  • Win 7 Pro x64 will not sign into iCloud

I am attempting to get iCloud set up on my Win 7 Pro x64 machine, and I am getting the following symptoms:
    - In input my username and password into the control panel and it just sits there and spins.  I end up having to cancel out of it to close the window.  This will spin indefinitely.  I have let it go for upwards of an hour for good measure.
    - I am seeing the following error message in the error logs:

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

    I also have a Windows 7x64 installation.
I had trouble installing the just released iCloud v2.0, specifically getting Photostream to work.  I fixed that by completely removing the v2.0 and re-installing the previous version then reinstalling v2.0 again.
Having got Photostream working I am now unable to turn on the Mail/Contacts/Calender merge (with Outlook) because and I quote "The iCloud Panel did not install properly".  My attempts to repair it from the Control Panel didn't work.
I mention all this here because looking through Autoruns (the Sysinternals utility for examining startup services) I notice that C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\ubd.exe is supposed to run at startup but is actualy missing from my system? Are these problems related.
Oh and what are the chances of getting the new Mail, Contacts and Calender links to run Safari rather that Internet Explorer?

This computer has two different versions of Flash Player for Internet Explorer and two different versions of Flash Player for other browsers.
    A clean install is recommended:
    Windows
Download the current 32 bit uninstaller    Uninstaller for 32 bit Operating Systems
Close all browser windows and run the uninstaller
    Restart Windows
Delete all remaining files and folders located in the following directories. (tip: copy and paste these paths into the path bar in an Explorer window)
    C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flas
    %appdata%\Adobe\Flash Player
    %appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player
Verify that the file “FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl” in C:\Window\system32\ for 32 bit systems has been deleted.
    Download the following installer files:
32 bit Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
32 bit Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Physically disconnect from the Internet and run the installers.
