ICloud Safari History not syncing across my devices with Yosemite and iOS 8

I have a MacBook Pro with the latest update of Yosemite installed, an iPad 2 with iOS 8.1.1, an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.1.1 and other things seem to be syncing like my bookmarks, reading list, and all other iCloud data as well as iMessages and text messages. But the one thing that does not seem to be syncing is my browsing history in Safari. This is supposed to be a new feature of Yosemite and iOS 8 and it is working for a friend of mine but not me.
How can I fix this? I've tried going into iCloud settings on all three devices and turning off Safari sync and then turning it back on but no luck.

I spoke with Apple support again this weekend. The first support specialist told me that Safari browsing history was not a feature at this time. When I sent a screenshot of the notes of what updated in Safari 8.0.2 on December 11, 2014 from the AppStore, I got transferred to a senior support specialist. They had me try things like log out of icloud and then reset my network settings on my devices. But that unfortunately did not work. My next step which I did not have time to do, is to see if it is my iCloud account by creating a new iCloud account, logging out of iCloud and then resetting my network settings and then logging into iCloud with the new iCloud account and see if Safari history syncs.
I'm not sure what they will do for me if it is my iCloud account because I have so much on that account and have email addresses that I don't want to lose. And if it isn't the iCloud account they said it is probably my devices but I am not sure what they will have me do to try to fix it if it is. Set them up as new? I don't really want to do that, it takes forever to get everything back on the device.

  • Sync speed in Pages with Yosemite and iOS 8

Is anyone else finding the use of Pages in iOS 8 frustrating becaus of the slow — really SLOW — speed at whch documents are syncing between devices using iOS 8 and those using Yosemite. Yeeesh! I about read to go back to Mavericks and iOS 7! I have an iMac, a Macbook Pro, an iPad Air, and a iPhone 5. I have to wait 5 - 15 minutes many times to be able to create a new document or to retreive a document and use it.
Is there a way to fix this issue?

Thank you for responding to my issue.  I spent the better part of two hours trying to get this to work.  Bluetooth is enabled on all devices. Each computer is set in Preferences/General to allow Handoff.  All computers and iPhones are on the same WiFi network.  I toggled all of the major settings off and on.  Rebooted each of my computers several times. I finally conceded defeat.  Then my daughter asked to have a try at it.  She worked on the first MBP for about thirty minutes and informed me that she had gotten continuity to work.  And indeed, on her MBP late 2012 she is able to use the continuity features in both directions between her computer and her iPhone 6.  But it only works with Mail and Safari.  I asked how she accomplished this feat.  She said she turned off "everything" on her computer and iPhone (WiFi, Bluetooth, "Allow handoff" under Preferences/General) and then rebooted both the iPhone and the computer.  She then turned everything back on.  This worked for her.  So we tried the same thing on my MBP and iPhone 6.  Now continuity works partially. Email activity is mirrored on both the MBP and the iPhone regardless of which device initiates the continuity activity.  But Safari activity on the computer is mirrored on the iPhone but not in the opposite direction.  There is no continuity function for Pages in either direction.  The telephone connectivity works fine on all of my devices– 3 MBPs, Mac Pro, iPad Air, 2nd gen iPad and 3rd gen iPad.

  • After downloading maverick, iCloud will not sync across my devices

Since downloading Maverick [10.9], iCloud will not sync across my devices. Mail is not working properly. I'm being asked for passwords from everything.
Also, every time I close and then reopen Mail, I get a message saying "Mail cannot connect to the iCloud account "iCloud", requiring my password, again!
Is there a solution to this? How can I find out if it's server related, etc.?
Thanks to anyone out there that can help!

Try restarting your router and all the other devices.

I did not sync my iPod Touch with iTunes and I have forgotten my password and now it is locked.  I have the recovery mode screen at "conect to iTunes", but iTunes is not recognizing it.  How do I unlock it?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • ICloud mail not syncing across my devices

I have my mail set up on my iMac, Macbook Pro and iPhone with my iCloud account. When I delete a message or move it to a folder it doesn't sync this across my devices unless I use iCloud logged onto the web. This means that I have to keep repeating my actions and sometimes the mail reappears after I've deleted it. How can it sync across all devices like MobileMe used to, as it's really inconvenient.
    I use the Lion OS.

Not sure where you are looking to see the 0 bytes available part.
However, signing out of iCloud and back in again will trigger the push from iCloud to the device or computer you are signing out of and back in to.
To ensure that your data is stored in iCloud, go to iCloud.com and check your Calendar to make sure it has the latest data that you want pushed to your devices and to your Mac.
If everything is in iCloud, then it will push back to your device or computer when you sign back on.

  • ICloud not syncing across all devices

I have a macbook pro, iphone 4, and iMac.  Both computers are running Lion and my iphone 4 is up to date.
I believe I set up iCloud correctly on all three devices.  However, only the iMac and the iPhone seem to be syncing properly.  For some reason, mail sent from me.com via my macbook pro doesn't show up in my other devices.  Also, iCal entries made on my macbook pro are also not showing up.
Is there a quick fix?  Some kind of setting somewhere that I need to change?  All help appreciated.

    mail.
Try turning mail and notes syncing off and on again on the MacBook.
    calendars.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • Contacts and Calendar not sync across all devices

Installed mavericks a few weeks ago.  Just looked at a contact on my iPad and iPhone and noted that changes made on my MacBook Pro are not showing up on either of these 2 devices.  What is going on?  I used to sync manually using iTunes.  Tried this just now and does not update info in either calendar or contacts.  I used to see :syncing Calendar, syncing contacts in the window describing progress - this does not appear.
Very very confused. Syncing across all devices very important.  spend a lot of time in rural areas with no access to wi-fi.  Am I trapped in iCloud only? if so How does that work??   Help!

Still confused - now I have multiple copies of the same event on my MacBook Pro, and iPad, and not at all on my i iPhone,
Just created a dummy contact on my iPad, and it appeared on MacBook Pro but not on iPhone. turned off iPhone and turned back on and new contact appeared.
My calendar on iPhone has no data from the time I started using Mavericks until a dummy event I added this afternoon.  Do I need to turn my iPhone off and then back on to get it to sync? even with turning off and on the missing calendar items have not appeared.
I am a bit reluctant (afraid) to go to the web and look at my iCloud.com account for fear of sending yet another copy of the same calendar appointments  and duplicate contacts / contacts info to myself on my devices.  I have multiple copies of the same contact on my MacBook Pro. some of the contacts have 3 or 4 duplicates of the same information - example "home phone" or "e-mail address."  Sometimes I have 3 or 4 copies of the same contact card.
Hope you are having a better day, I am completely confused and more than a bit frustrated.  Has anyone written an app to replace sync services in Mavericks?  I would gladly pay for it!

  • Photos not syncing across all devices

This is more of a frustrated rant than it is a question.  I have 3 devices, iPhone, iPad and Macbook pro.. all synced to iCloud.  I am constantly having trouble with my photos not being in sync across all the devices.. i.e.  my recent photos from my iPad were synced to my iPhone but they aren't showing up in iPhoto on my Macbook pro.  Photos taken on those same days but using my iPhone did sync to my MacBook Pro.  The iPad and iPhone are in sync together..
This is a maddening problem and I hope.. REALLY HOPE that upgrading to 10.3.3 and the new PHOTOS app FINALLY gets this right because up to know, I consider iCloud a fail due to inconsistencies like above.

  • IMessage not syncing across multiple devices

    Hi All,
I have recently got on iPhone 4S as well as my exisiting iPad 1. My wife also has an iPad 2. All these devices have been updated sucesssfully to iOS 5.
We have one central iTunes account (mine) that gets used to purchase apps and music from iTunes - nothing out of the ordinary there.
We also have two iCloud accounts for use with our own devices (mine on the iPad1 and iPhone - my wife has one for her iPad2).
On the face of it - we can message back and forth ok apart from one small problem. Any conversation I start on the iPad will get duplicated to the iPhone but wont show any replies - these all go to the iPhone. So I'm basically looking at a one sided conversation from the iPad point of view.
Any conversation started on the iPhone just doesnt show up on the iPad at all.
I've found several posts (all based on the same theme) that suggests that I change the caller ID to the apple (iCloud) account on the phone and also 'reconfirm' the settings on the iPad.
This I have done several times but with no joy. I get the feeling that the sync between multiple devices isnt quite there yet.
Has anyone else come up against this in here - and if so - how did you fix it.
    Thanks
    Wayne.

The feature really doesn't work very well yet. Most likely a future update will fix it or at least make it more obvious why it doesn't behave consistently.
For what it's worth, after following the caller ID instructions that you have tried, it took about a day for syncing to start working but some conversations and messages still never show up on my iPad.
Not much we can do but wait for iOS 5.1 I'm afraid. No doubt apple are aware of the issue at this point.

  • Why do PDFs in iBooks not sync across my devices

PDFs that I create on my MacBook Air and save in iBooks do not sync to my other iOS devices.

For me.  I have had PDFs on my idevices for a while.  I use to have to open in iBooks on a iDevice. Then sync that device to iTunes on my home computer then sync all my other idevices.  That worked till about 6 months ago.  That's why I was excited when I heard iBooks was coming to Mac.  I was hoping it would fix.  So I anxiously awaited and no beuno.

  • Computer not syncing to my devices with icloud

When I download music in iTunes on my iPad, it syncs with my PC via iCloud.  But when I buy music in iTunes, or make changes to my playlists on my PC, it does NOT sync with my iPad via iCloud.  I have the current iTunes.

Microsoft have not made Outlook for Mac compatible with iCloud. Microsoft does not support the industry standard CalDAV and CardDAV protocols iCloud uses. There's nothing you can do to make it work, except put pressure on MS to get up to date.

  • Docs in Cloud Not syncing between OS (10.8.2) and iOS (6)

I am running all of the most recent software available for both OS and iOS (including the iWork software on each). For about a week not, my docs have not been syncing. I will open something on my iPad/iPhone, take notes for a couple hours in class. Then, when I go to add notes on my Mac next week, last weeks notes are not there.
    What I have done:
Connected iPad and iPhone to power and wifi numerous nighst since the first note-taking.
Had my Mac connected to power and wifi numerous times since the first note-taking.
    Restarted all devices.
Any other tips? I need this stuff to sync if I am going to have all of my notes in one place before finals—the timing of my issues with iCloud make me wonder if the cosmos (or Apple) has a sense of humor.
    Thanks in Advance!

I am not sure this is a Pages question but an iCloud question. You could ask in the iCloud forum about the syncing problems

  • Handoff not working with Yosemite and iOS 8

I have three Macbook Pros in my household.  Two are mid 2012 models and the other a late 2012 model.  Each is supposed to support the handoff feature of Yosemite and ios8.  Everything seems to work properly between my daughter's late 2012 MBP and her iPhone 6.  But on the other two MBPs in our family the continuity feature does not work on either of them.  Receiving and sending calls works fine.  But the continuity does not work even though all three MBPs and all three iPhone 6 are on the same wifi network.
I've tried all the suggestions that I could find.  Toggling off and on the various settings on the MBPs and the iPhones.

  • My ical is not syncing across my devices

I have an IMAC, a Macbook, an IPAD and an IPHONE
my problem is that when i enter an event on my ipad it does not appear on any other device

On your iPad check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...scroll down to the Calendars section and tap Default Calendar.  Here be sure you have selected your iCloud calendar and not, for example, the calendar under On My iPad or something esle.  iCloud will only sync events added to your iCloud calendar so this must be selected as your default to sync added events to other devices.

  • ICloud, Safari bookmarks not syncing with iphone

I've got an iPhone 4, MacBook running Snow Leopard, previously had MobileMe, ever since iCloud has come around my iPhone has stopped syncing the bookmarks with my Mac. Hugely annoying..
Anybody know how to fix this?
    Thanks

I've got an iPhone 4, MacBook running Snow Leopard, previously had MobileMe, ever since iCloud has come around
You must upgrade Lion v10.7.2 in order to enable iCloud so that's not the issue with the bookmarks since you are running Snow Leopard.
Open System Preferences > MobileMe then select the Sync tab and make sure Bookmarks is selected.
Now select the Advanced tab then click Reset Sync Data.
