ICS RAZR Problem with WiFi

After updating to ICS this morning, I now have a few issues.
1) Can no longer connect to any Wi-Fi.  Cycles between 'Connecting...' and 'Saved, Secured with WPA/WPA2'.  Same Wi-Fi network works fine with other Wi-Fi devices and did so with my RAZR before the ICS upgrade.
Things I've tried:
     - Connecting via WEP
     - Connecting via Open network
     - Wiped out Settings (fun) and tried to connect PRIOR to downloading any apps from my Google account
Motorola Tech support wants me to send them my phone. ?????
2) Battery Life has dropped significantly.  Keeping the phone on a charger all day yielded 50% charge and once disconnected, drops like a rock.
3) There's no way to set the USB mode to Charge Only.  Therefore, I can't access my Gallery "Your media files cannot be access because your device is in USB Mass Storage Mode".
Anyone else have these issues?

  • Why my iPhone 5s's wifi have problem with wifi on iOS 8.0.2?

MMy iPhone 5s and also my iPhone 6 plus and iPad 3, all have the latest update(8.0.2) but all of me have problem with wifi and gilt hung all the time! Wifi most of the time is not working and we have to use laptop or using phone data, obviously I don't want to use my data in home so , I want this problem solve as soon as possible. My iPad is glitching all the time, my iPhone's most the time.
aand please don't tell me it's my wifi modem because I know it's not, I have been tested my modem with all other devices!

Ok.  Have you tried restarting your phone?  Hold sleep wake button until slide to power off appears - slide to power off.  Turn it back on and retest.
-Next is Settings, general, reset, reset network settings - retest.
-Next is back up phone to iTunes, and restore to factory settings - set up as new, retest.
If you have had your phone for less than 90 days, you get 90 days of complementary voice support at applecare, so you should definitely use that while you have it.

    Try #5.
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

    Hi ..
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You may have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.

  • Problems with WiFi network connectivity post 2.1 upgrade

Have been having problems with WiFi connectivity since installing the 2.1 upgrade. When attempting to view some websites I get a "Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet" message. The same addresses can be resolved from my iMac at the the same time. Other websites don't have problems. Funnily enough www.apple.com is one of the effected sites.
I can also only sporadically gain access to the App store & the iTunes store from the device. I mostly get a message stating - "Cannot connect to iTunes store".
I am connecting through a WPA encrypted access point. I have tried restoring the device, resetting network settings, etc.
Has anyone else experienced this? After work tonight I will temporarily set my access point to WEP, just to see if the problem may be related to WPA. I have read that the iPod touch is effected by this.
    Thanks,
    Matt

No problem. The iPhone uses lower power on the WiFi transceiver to save the battery. It won't have the 50 meter range that one might see for other devices. As long as it works reliably when it is closer to the access point it is working normally.

Frustratingly, since I upgraded to Yosemite 10.10, I too am having the worst problems with WiFi dropping out. I've never had this problem before on my iMac 27-inch mid 2011 model. Turning WiFi off and then back on again sometimes works. Help please. I've already tried a lot of your suggested fixes, but without success. Why hasn't Apple Fixed this?

Please test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
Take the applicable steps in this support article. The Wireless Diagnostics program generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
    Step 2
Disconnect all USB 3 devices. If you don't know which are USB 3, disconnect all USB devices except keyboard and mouse.
    Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. If you find that Wi-Fi works better with Bluetooth disabled, you should use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. Your router may not support it; in that case, you need a new router.
    Step 4
Open the Energy Saver pane in System Preferences and unlock the settings, if necessary. Select the Power Adapter  tab, if there is one. Uncheck the box marked
              Wake for Wi-Fi network access
    if it's checked.
    Step 5
Open the Network pane in System Preferences and make a note of your settings in the Wi-Fi service. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the various tabs in the preference pane. If the preference pane is locked, unlock it by clicking the padlock icon and entering your administrator password. Delete Wi-Fi from the service list on the left by selecting it and clicking the minus-sign button at the bottom. Then recreate the service by clicking the plus-sign button and following the prompts.
    Step 6
    In the Wi-Fi settings, select
              Advanced... ▹ TCP/IP ▹ Configure IPv6: Link-local
    Click OK and then Apply.
    Step 7
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 8
    Reset the PRAM.
    Step 9
Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
    Step 10
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

  • Problem with wifi connection at home

    Hello,
    I have a MacBookPro4,1. I have a weird problem with Wifi.
At work, it just connects to the network instantly. At home,
the connection usually does not work for the first time, I have
to Turn Off and Turn On Airport card several times before it
connects to the network. While this was happening, I changed
my router (from ASUS-WL500G DeLuxe, to DLink AP with 802.11n
and now I have a newer ASUS with 802.11n). It is still the
same. For this reason, I suppose the problem is caused by
other networks. I also reinstalled the notebook now, as
Snow Leopard is out. The same thing.
I have another MacBook Pro (older model), that just works
and iPhone also works. I have applied all Airport firmware
    upgrades and also Software updates.
It drives me a little bit crazy, when it takes me
10 minutes of restarting airport to get a connection. When
I'm connected, everything works well, no packet drops, 100%
    signal.
I have read about similiar problems in another forums,
but with no solution. Please help!
    Juraj.

This is often a router channel problem. Your home router is sending out wifi on one particular channel and being picked up by several computers lessening the chances of another computer connecting. Almost all routers use a general channel number so everyone in the neighborhood is on that channel.
Try changing channels - usually between 1 - 4, and see if that doesn't work better for you and your MBP.

  • Problem with wifi connection

Hello everyone i'm new user of BlackBerry and i must say it's great phone
but I have a one little problem with wifi connection:
when i open "Call Management" and turn on wifi connection, find my home router network and connect with it- i have not green hook like with my telephone connection but only white minus
Sou I think BB find my wifi connection but can't take internet from router?
I had only one time working connection, but next day it lost
The same problem i found on other forums but no one know how to solve the problem.
Please help me solve this problem.
ps: sorry for my english hope all is understandable
    Regards

I, too had problems connecting my iTouch with my home computer. I did everything suggested and then called Apple. They worked very hard for me to find the problem ... even the engineers got involved. They found that the Symantec firewall downloaded from my ISP, Comcast, interfered with the iTouch communicating with the computer. As soon as I disabled the Symantec wall (not the internal mac firewall) my iTouch was back communicating with my computer. Apple deserves a lot of credit for isolating the problem. So, for those of you with this problem, check out your third party security software and remove what you must. Kudos to Apple customer service on this one.

This support document http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4451 relates to the 3194 error. Generally this error has to do with trying to install an iOS that is not the most current. Maybe you tried to jailbreak the phone, or downgrade iOS? Any of this apply to you?

  • Since upgrade to ios6 l have been having problem with wifi connection and connecting to App Store and iTunes store

Q since upgrade to iOS6 l have been having problem with wifi connection and getting into App Store and itunes

    Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.
