Identiying in which table a field belongs to

we have requirement to bring value of field NBW- BOOK VALUE AT FISCIAL YEAR END, WHICH is defined in a structure. now how to know in which table the value of this field is stored.

Hi,
In Your structure for the field you want to find the table just click on the component type(data element) then click on the domain, there you could see three tabs- in that goto Value Range Tab and then check whether any Value table exist or not. This helps you to find table for a field in structure.

I dont think there is anythign called batch split indicator.
You can find that there is a batch split in a delivery if LIPS-UECHA field is updated for a particular delivery. If UECHA is filled, then the number means that for the item number mentioned in UECHA, those records are the split records.
i.e. For example say for a line item 10, there are 2 split items in a delivery. In this case, there will be two line items with LIPS-POSNR = 90001 and 90002. These line items will have LIPS-UECHA = 10. This means that the items 90001 and 90002 are the child batch items for the parent line item 10 as mentioned in UECHA field.
btw....u can check LIPS-CHSPL if this is what you are looking for.

I am new to BW. Can someone tell me which tables and fields I need if I load data (sales report;t code:MCTG; s001)from R3 to BW. Which extractor do I need in LBWE or SWIB?

Hi Koala,
LBWE is a tcode for Logistics Cockpit extraction. It's a direct code. You can find it also in tcode SBIW expanding nodes.
Knowing the fields that show up in your report you can compare them with queries, cubes, infosources and datasources in a business content.

Use this trick I learned from an ABAP friend of mine. Has a little of trial and error in it but its really good.
1. Open 2 SAP windows
2. In window 1, Go to ST05
3. Activate Trace
4. Go to window 2, access the field which you need to learn what table it is in. Ex. Go to XK02 to view the field. enter data in it.
5. Go to window 1, Deactivate Trace
6. In window 1, display trace
7. Check each table written there in SE11 and see if your field is in that table.

Which table stores field names and their description?

When I go to se11; I can get information about a table; its field names and field description.
How can I access same information using an ABP Program? I have a third party tool which connects to SAP; it can pull data from any SAP Table or view. I do not know which table or view stores information displayed in SE11.

The field names and their description are strored in table DD03L and DD03T.
SAP DDIC dictionary informations are generally store in DD* tables. You can search this kinds of DD* tables in SE11 using F4 search help.

You can check out two table in respect to Sales TEXT i.e. STXH (STXD SAPscript text file header) and STXL(SAPscript text file lines).
The best approach of tracing out the Text in respect to Sales Order would be to use the Function module READ_TEXT and put this FM in SE37 and execute with the following parameter.
Client
Text ID of text to be read
Language of text to be read
Name of text to be read
Object of text to be read
Archive handle
Text catalog local
When you are essentially looking to read item level Text with respect to Sales Order then your Text OBject would be VBBP.

As per my knowledge this value is get calculated in runtime. Check function module MB_ADD_PURCHASE_ORDER_QUANTITY.
or else you can find open PO's from EKPO for the item which are not set as delivery completed & not set for deletion.

4. double click on table fields
5. Just paste the description , which you are having in the SHORT DESCRIPTION input area, at the beside screen..like "Order value"
6. press F8.
you should get:

Mention the name of the field in Fieldname parameter and execute.

But it is giving error as 'Batch characterstics values are not classified'.
If i give Batch Type- as PRODUCTION(P) in batch classification.

Dear Sridath,
In ST05 switch on the SQL Trace.
Goto RSA3.
Give your DataSource name > Execute
Goto ST05...Switch OFF the Trace
Analyze the Trace file
Gives you details about the fields and Tables from where you are fetching.
OR
Goto LBWE
Find your DataSource > Maintenance > Display mode
In right side window...expand ALL list box...
Exclude MC and take other words...they are the Source Tables.

Education cess at PO level is not stored directly into any table, instead it is calculate at runtime using function module "PRICING" with calculation type "B".
Edu. Cess for Invoice are stored in table BSET table. You can identify the record passing condition type (KSCHL).
Manul excise condition goes to table KONV linked with EKKO-KNUMV field.
