IDM 11g installation issues on x64 for OIM startup

Hello,
I am trying to build a IDM 11g env on x64 machine. We have installed the following components.
a. Weblogic 10.3.4/JDev
b. SOA 11.1.1.2 and patch SOA 11.1.1.3
c. RCU to create schemas for OIM, MDS, OAM etc.
d. IAM 11.1.1.3 for OIM
e. Configured for the following, Admin Server, Managed Server, Enterprise Manager and SOA.
f. Started Weblogjc Admin Server
g. Configured for OIM for DB schema, no LDAP, RManager, ports, etc.
h. Restarted Admin Server nd OIM Managed Server, looks like all the servers started but failed to load OIM package.
All the services are running and Weblogic admin reports all the servers as up and running but cant start the oim page on http://localhost:7001/oim as configured.
I have a x64 bit installation packages with jdk160_21
Please can anyone let me know how to proceed.

You need to set up your existing DNS server to allow it to delegate to a GNS Service running on the Oracle Database Grid.
Ask your network admin to give you a subdomain that the Oracle GNS will take responsibility for.
For example if your company domain is acme.com then the GNS will resolve all connections to database.acme.com
The GNS will also be allowed to allocate a range of IP's as when those IP's or subdomain are requested the DNS just passes the work on to the GNS to resolve.
So the first step is to talk to your network admin about DNS delegation

  • Reconfigure IDM 11g installation to Database for SSL communication.

    Experts,
    I've below environment.
Oracle IDM 11g (OID,OVD,OAM,OAAM,OIF,OIM,etc,.) 11g talking to Oracle Database RAC 11g.
At the time of IDM installation and configuration, database was not in SSL mode. Now I'm want to make SSL communication between IDM and Database.
    My Questions:
    1. Once I put Database in SSL mode, How can I reconfigure Oracle IDM suite so that it can talk to database in SSL mode ?
    2. How much effort does it require ?
Please provide if you have any doc references.

  • IDM 11g installation

I am doing 11g installation of IDM and I encounter the error that OID is not up and running.
To start this /oracle/oid/bea_default/Oracle_IDM1/opmn/bin ./opmnctl startall
The OID connection seems to be alive, But still OIM installation is failing at "starting OID"

    Hello,
We also have IDM installation issues. The configuration wizard failed. The log shows the following error after a bunch of
"Waiting for OID Server to come up"
    "Failed to start component oid1[[

    Have you resolved your issue?
(Our system: RatHat Linux 5.2, 64 bit, SUN JDK 1_6_0_17 64_bit, database 11.1.0.7 RAC)
I have search the forum and all mentioned OS parameters, kernel, Database Parameters are correctly set. But we still have no luck after more than 10 times deinstall/reinstall/config/, we even created a new database instances, wipe ou oraInventory, bea directory and reinstalled WLS 10.3.1 and patching it to 10.3.2 then 10.3.3, and reinstalled IDM 11.1.1.2 and patched to 11.1.1.3, still failed at the same spot.

  • IDM 11g Installation Error

    Hello,
I was trying to install Identity Management 11g as part of our Fusion Middleware test environment but I couldn't make it through the Installation.
I'm installing IDM 11g, just Oracle Internet Directory with Oracle Directory Integration Platform, Oracle Directory Services Manager, and Fusion Middleware Control in a New WebLogic Administration Domain (not selecting Identity Federation nor Virtual Directory)
All the prerequisites are fulfilled, all the verification passed.
    I'm using Weblogic 11g (10.3.1), everything over a OEL 5.2.
The error I get is in the Configuration Progress stage, in Bootstrap Domain configuration section, and in the Create Domain part.
    The logs show:

I had a similar problem. The solution I used was to download a different version of 11g. Higher, I don't know what 11g (10.1.3) is. I don't think there was a version like that (I haven't seen it). Let's say your platform is x86. There are 3 downloads (at least) you could use:
    1. Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.1) + OEPE - Package Installer
    oepe11_wls1031_linux32.bin
    2. Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.1) - Package Installer
    wls1031_linux32.bin
    3. Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3 - Package Installer
    server103_linux32.bin
With #3, I had the same issue. IDM doesn't like it. I used #1. OEPE is just some eclipse plugins that you don't need to use but they are there in case you want to develop some custom plugins. #2 I assume would also work but I haven't tested it. The .1 in 10.3.1 is the key. 11g = 10.3.1. I think eventually Oracle will marry up the versions to be more clear. I'm not sure.
And yes, with #3, the verify would pass and it would happily install until the domain was created and bam big stack trace just like you posted. Use #1 or #2. If your Platform is different just substitute the _linux32 with your platform.

  • Oracle Database 11g Installation Issue: ORA-12560:TNS: protocol adapter error.

    Folks,
Hello. Initially, my Windows XP host name is "localhost" and IP address 127.0.0.1.
I installed Oracle Database 11g with Windows XP successfully and all Database clients work with Database instance correctly.
For some reasons, I uninstalled the entire Database Server and delete the entire installation directory /oracle.
I configured Windows XP IP address into 192.168.196.101 in order to ping other machines.
For my need, I installed Oracle Database 11g with Windows XP again. On step 7 of 8: Oracle Database Configuration Assistant, I got this error:
    ORA-12560:TNS: protocol adapter error.
I click "Password Management" button, there are no rows in this Windows (no username, no lock accounts).
    I check listener as below:
    C:\>lsnrctl
    LSNRCTL>start
Its output: listener name LISTENER has already been started.
    LSNRCTL>status
Its output: ......Service DB1 has 1 instance. Instance DB1 status ready. The command completed successfully.
I check \Oracle\cfgtoollogs\dbca\DB1\trace file, the entry is :
    listen[0]=LISTENER address=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=localhost)(port=1522))
I also check \oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN\SAMPLE\tnsnames.ora file and listener.ora file, the entries are the same as below
    HOST=localhost  port=1522
I think HOST=localhost and port=1522 is the cause of the error ORA-12560 because Windows XP has been configured into HOST=192.168.196.101.
But I don't understand how to solve this issue.
Can any folk tell me how to solve this issue ? need to cancel the installation on step 7 of 8 and install it again ?
    Thanks.

    Folks,
Hello. Oracle Database 11g Installation Wizard is on step 7 of 8. I don't cancel the Wizard. I am not sure whether there is effect or not. listener.ora is not removed. I have been waiting for a while after stop listener.  I run the 3 commands again and copy the result as below:

I have already installed Oracle Express 10g on my Windows. My first question is can 10g express and 11g express co-exist?

This is one of the XE restrictions (compared to other editions), you can only have one XE installation on your machine:

Have you created a directory and given proper rights? Must be installed as oracle and oracle group should own the directories.

  • Oracle DB 11g Release 2 Installation in Solaris OS for SAP - issue: Files not found

    Hello All,
Having problem during my installation of oracle DB.
the installer keeps on prompting that files not found and the directories and files permission seems different from expected
I attached the images of the files the installer is looking for and also the /oracle/<SID>/11ginstall_11202.log
I also attached the thing i put in ENV command
Not sure if its the issue in the oracle profile or installer itself or wrong input
    please help

    Hi Frogoso,
Please have a check on the known issues SAP note for Oracle installation.
Section G: is related to Solaris
1431796 - Oracle 11.2.0: Troubleshooting the Software Installation
You may re-check whether all the Solaris related pre-requisites are met before executin RUNINSTALLER.
Suggestion here would be to go with latest available Oracle patch 11.2.0.4 as you are installing a new system.
    Hope this helps.

  • OIM 11.1.1.3 installation issues

    Hi All,
I am facing issue while trying to install OIM 11G (11.1.1.3.0). I have installed SOA 11.1.1.4.0, OIM 11.1.1.3.0 and have used RCU 11.1.1.4.0. After installing these components, I am trying to run the config.sh from the <IDM_HOME>/common/bin and have selected Oracle Identity Manager ,Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle WSM Policy Manager, Oracle JRF from the template options.
During this we are required to enter the schema information along with database details. I provided the same which I got from RCU. The utility then checks the database for those details but fails on OIM MDS Schema component check. I believe this might be an issue with the utility because the Database Query which is run for checking the OIM MDS Schema is looking for version 11.1.1.2.0 and not 11.1.1.4. Also for OWSM MDS Schema component check, the same query runs but for version 11.1.1.4 in the query.
Both the queries are same except for the version for which it is testing. Thus one of them is bound to fail. This utility checks 6 components in total and out of which only 1 is failing. I have already checked the schema_version_registry and there for mr_type=’MDS’ there is just one row and that has owner=’DEVOIM_MDS’ and version=’11.1.1.4.0’.
Will appreciate if anyone has any idea about this or have seen it earlier.
Another question which I have is about the compatibility for OIM 11.1.1.3.0, what are the supported versions of SOA, RCU and OFM IAM for this release of OIM as the latest OIM version is 11.1.1.3.0 while all the other components are 11.1.1.4.0.
    Thanks,
    BB

which are released on 11.1.1.4.0Not sure what you are asking but OIM 11g is certified with SOA Software to 11.1.1.3.0.
After the installation is complete, you must run the Patch Set Installer for Oracle SOA Suite (included in the Disk1 directory under the soa_patchset.zip file) to >>update your 11.1.1.2.0 software to the latest version of Oracle SOA Suite (11.1.1.3.0).
On March 8th I believe Oracle has release SOA 11.1.1.4.0 and somewhere in the docs it says it is supported while same places it skips them out totally. I will go ahead with 11.1.1.2.0 with upgrade to 11.1.1.3.0
    Thanks!
