IDM Date Transformation Question

Hello,
I have a colunm in a Oracle database with a date format : DD/MM/YY.
But when I synchronize or reconcile this resource with IDM, the date value is transform to this format YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS.s in IDM.
How and where the transformation is realized ? (what form, xml file,...)
My problem is that I want to use this attribute to use "Last Predicate Search" in resource synchronization but it does not work because the date is tranform to a wrong format!
Can you help me ?
Thanks
Mathieu

LastUpdatedDate IS NOT NULL AND LastUpdatedDate > '$(LASTUPDATEDDATE)' , where LastUpdateddate is the colum name of SQL DB

  • Oracle Database Inserts Via Microsoft Data Transformation Services (DTS)

    This question involves a SQL Server database and an Oracle database. The databases reside on different servers. One of our developers periodically uses Microsoft DTS (Data Transformation Services) to read data from a SQL Server database and insert it into an Oracle database. Normally the job runs once a day and reportedly inserts about 20,000 rows. The job usually runs fine. About a month ago execution of the daily job was suspended. Two days ago the developer ran a job to select and insert nine days of information. He estimated that 80,000 rows would be inserted. The job cancelled after twenty-three minutes when it filled up the 512 MB UNDO tablespace. (FYI, we use automatic UNDO management.) At the point of failure the number of active sessions spiked sharply in the Oracle database because of system I/O waits (log file parallel write, db file parallel write, and control file parallel write). The number of active sessions also spiked sharply in three other Oracle databases whose files reside on the same array of disk drives. Most of those sessions were waiting on commits (log file sync). The spikes lasted for one minute or less. Grid Control’s performance monitor shows that sqlservr.exe is the module being executed when the UNDO tablespace fills up. We ran the job a second time and closely monitored it, watching the amount of UNDO space grow until it used all 512 MB available. The symptoms described above for the first cancellation were repeated in the second cancellation.
    We reran the job by processing a single day’s worth of information and that ran fine. Then we ran it for two days of information, then for six days of information. Everything ran fine. During those tests no more than 70 MB of space of UNDO were used.
    Our developer reported that last week he ran the job for nine days of information, the same amount as the job that cancelled twice today. He estimates that it ran for about 80 minutes and went to a normal end-of-job.
    Can anyone here offer an explanation of why we seem to be getting these varied demands for space in the UNDO tablespace? Do you know if Microsoft DTS issues a commit after each insert or only a single commit at the end-of-job?
    Thank you,
    Bill

    Yes both instances are same.

  • Script Logic VS Data Transformation File

    Hi all,
       I'm new to SAP BPC. I have knowledge of SAP BW.
       I can see conversion file, which we are referring in data transformation file. which we can use for mapping and conversion of external data into internal data.
      How data transformation file different form script logic? Are we going to refer script logis in Data transformation file for each required dimension?
      Can any of you give me clarity on how to place script logic and data transformation file in BPC data management flow.
      I will really applicate all your help!!!
    Thanks
    Ben.

    Nilanjan,
       I have a another quick question...
      suppose my bpc application has 5 dimensions. Out of the 5 dimensions, 4 dimensions data i'm getting directly from SAP BW. assume 1 dim, i need to extract by doing look up at different table which also reside in BW.
       how to populate data for DIM 5.
       I got your point that data transformation file purely for field mapping. suppose DIM5 if i want to populate from script logic, wht do i need map in Transformation file. I hope you got my point.
       My question if how to populate a DIM in BPC using lookup approach.
    Thanks,
    Ben.

  • SAP IDM 7.2 Questions

    Hi,
    I just recently started with SAP IDM and have a few Questions, maybe someone has the time to explain, thanks in advance!
    - What for is VDS (Virtual Directory Server)? I can write directly into AD? why another target system?
    - If I create a Role in Identity Center for testing its available on the idm portal http://localhost:50000/idm but not in /useradmin or Umeadmin?
    - Repository, does it matter in which repository I upload (CSV Import) users? I have multiple repositories and didn't understand the exact purpose of a repository?
    - Org Units? how can I create Org Units and assign roles for inheritance? is this only available on a Netweaver AS ABAP installation? (I installed AS JAVA) According this link: Indirect Role Assignment Using Organizational Management (OM) - Identity Management - SAP Library
    Thanks, Patrick

    Hi Patrick,
    here is some answers:
    Main purpose of VDS is to be an interface INTO IdM. It is an LDAP interface into the data stored in IdM database. It allows you for example to search, read, write and authenticate to IdM data via LDAP interface.
    IdM has its own UI (http:host:port/idm). You are not supposed to see business roles in useradmin of the J2EE. It is objects known to IdM, not to the J2EE.
    Repositories are objects representing mostly a source or target system. For example AD could be a source system where you get users from. An ABAP client can be a target system where you provision users to. Uploading users is just a way of creating users that you cannot get from some other source system like HCM, AD or ABAP. It depends on your scenarios and user life cycle where you get your user information from (source system) and where you provision to (target system).
    The link you shared regarding the org units is not really related to IdM as a product. If you do some automatic assignments in ABAP directly, you might need to reconcile with IdM. IdM is supposed to be a central user administration tool. If you have information about org units in IdM and want to use it to automatically assign authorizations you can do that for example by using dynamic groups.
    IdM is a very powerful tool opening a lot of possibilities as you can basically implement every requirement if you only have the required information available somewhere. It might be helpful for you to have someone to answer all your questions and help you solving your requirements in best way in the beginning, enabling you to use it in the most efficient way.

  • Date Transformation  - "Unparseable date error"

    Hi,
    I am getting an "Unparseable date error", my source date format (from IDOC) is 27102006, in the target format it should be along with the time stamp like 27102006132010.  I tried using the date transformation function and I am getting the following error:
    “RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation: Runtime exception during processing target field mapping /SiebelMessage/ListOfAssetManagement/ListOfAssetMgmt-Asset/AssetMgmt-Asset/InstallDate. The message is: Unparseable date: "27102006" “.
    solicit ur inputs!!!
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
    Check your  java code in Message  Mapping,  Check out  whether  you  have  declared the data typr  exactly and again  import the java code  and activate the objects.

  • Data transformation tool in wli8.1

    hi,
    We are trying to explore the data transformation tool of the wil8.1.
    We have cobol copy books as input and we need to end up populating oracle tables.
    These are the steps we are following:
    1. Use format builder to change cobol copy books into .mfl files
    2. Import them into the existing schema.
    3.. Create a schema(.xsd) which would take the output which then could be transferd
    into the java variables while creating the .jcx file.
    3. Create a .dtf file that would take in the .mfl as the input and the output
    would be the .xsd file created in step 3.
    4. Create a .jpd file that would be initiated with the client request and would
    use the .dtf as an input in the control send node and will return the .xsd file
    creted in the step3.
    The xsd file we have created is:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <xs:schema
         xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
         xmlns:tns="http://www.bea.com/TransformationWeb/part1xform.xsd"

    <xs:element name="part1xform-rct_suff" type="xs:string"/>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
         </xs:schema>
    We have not as yet gone to the stage where we can create a .jcx file using the
    output of the first stage. The error we get while trying to run the .jpd file
    in the last step is:
    An unexpected exception occurred while attempting to locate the run-time information
    for this Web Service. Error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:com/bea/transformationWeb/part1Xform/Part1XformDocument
    Any help you coulde provide in this would be really appriciated.
    However, your suggestions on some other method to be followed for data tranformation
    from cobol copybooks to oracle tables are also welcome.

  • Data Transformation Service (DTS) available in Oracle SQL Developer?

    Hi All,
    Sorry to bother you again. Is Data Transformation Service (DTS) available in Oracle SQL Developer? So far I cannot find it. For example, i want merge First Name, Last Name column from Access,excel or cvs to migrate as Full Name in Oracle or Full name in Access,Xls or cvs split into First name & last name column in Oracle. What method or service should I use.
    Regards,
    Tun Tun

    On wikipedia, I see that's a SQL Server component, so I don't think it's possible to use it in any other program.
    But you can always tweak columns through normal queries, and even create a new table based on that, like
    CREATE TABLE Table_New AS
    SELECT First_Name || Last_Name FROM Table_OldHope that helps,
    K.

    Hi
    How can transfer data ie: Using XML extraction from Oracle and XSLT data transformation with java application?
    usually i use to do querying sql, getting data from table assinging to model class then send it to UI. how can i go for XML extraction form oracle?
    thanks

    Sorry, I don't understand what exactly you want to do. And I'm under the impression that you might not know exactly what you want to do as well. Could you explain a bit more detailed what you want to achieve?

  • Data Transformation Services Execution Utility stopped working and was closed

    Hi,
    I had the SSIS packages (ETL job) working fine for a long time and then we moved the server/machine and ETL job keeps failing.
    The ETL job run number of packages. The ETL job fails for the first run then I set the retires and it works in 2nd or 3rd try on the ETL job but it fails daily for the first run where DTexec.exe crash (log pasted below)
    Server: Windows 2008 R2
    SQL Server:  SQL Server 2008 R2
    RAM 64 GB
    CPU cores 8
    we had the similar specs on previous machine and ETL job worked fine. Only difference is we have 2 SQL server instances now on same machine.
    I am suspecting it's an issue with ETL packages  but why it was working fine before for a long time and after machine move it keeps failing.
    Any thoughts?

  • How to Create Rule in Interface Data Transformer.

    Hi,
    If any one know how to Create Rule in Interface Data Transformer(IDT) Super user by using Lookup(Oracle R12 Version) Please help me on this.
    I have one value in GL Interface table, while loding data into base tables (GL_JE_BATCHES, GL_JE_HEADERS, GL_JE_LINES) that values replace with another value.
    For that purpose we have to use Interface Data Transformer.
    If any one how to create rule in IDT, Please give me a example how to create rule by using Lookup.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Receiver based date transformation

    Hi,
    We have a scenario where we need to map the date to the  receiving databases. We have the same map going to oracle receiver and a mySQL receiver. The date formats of both the databases are different. How can this be handled within the same map ( like receiver based date transformation) or does it need to go throught the traditional route of different maps for different JDBC receivers? Any help is appreciated..
    Teresa

    Teresa,
    Yes, I have the same payload going across to both DB at the same time. THe payload to mySQL is failing because the date format is in oracle transformation. I was wondering whether this could be done without doing 2 different maps.
    Yes, you can do it in the same mapping.
    For two different receivers, you must be having two different Business Services? If yes, then get the values of receiver BS in your mapping and do a simple condition test. Apply the date transformation logic accordingly.
    For getting the Receiver Service name, you can either use the "Receiver" under "Constant" standard function or use the following UDF -
    String RcvService;
    java.util.Map map;
    map = container.getTransformationParameters();
    RcvService = (String) map.get(StreamTransformationConstants.RECEIVER_SERVICE);
    return RcvService;
    You can change the above code as per your requirement.
    Hope this helps.

  • Data Transformation File

    Hi,
       Can any of you explain me the purpose of Data Transformation File ???
       How to use Script logic based on BADI in SAP BPC? Do we need to call in Default.lgf ???
       If i want to apply some custom logic while populating data using BADI, do i need to call that BADI in Data Tranformation file?
    Thanks,
    Ben.

    Hi Ben,
    There is no possibility of calling userdefined scripts or BADI from transformation files.The main use of transformation file is to map data from source to destination.
    If you require data load based on some filter criteria there are certain functionalities available for transformation file creation which u can find in the below link.

  • Data Flow Question in newly Migrated Business Content Install

    Hi, I just converted my Purchasing Business Content from 3.5 to 7.x.  This Content Loads the InfoCube directly from the Data Source.  After my DataFlow Migration I am left with still having an InfoSource.
    Here is a picture of my Data Flow
    http://i55.tinypic.com/258b7zs.png
    I thought I would not have an InfoSource after all of this.  Is this correct?
    Thanks for any help with this...

    Hi, Kenneth,
    I beleive it's absolutley correct result after migration.
    I had the same thing with infosources when migrating 0sd_c03 and never had issues with that.
    Infosurces can be used in 7 data flow as sometimes it's a good thing to have additional transformation between source and target (allow for more flexibility in data transformation)
    By the way your infosurce also migrated as its a 7.x infosource now. I beleive it has a different object type compared to old 3.x infosurce. You can actually check the object type in se11, Tadir, select by your infosurce name.

  • JDCB Driver not doing data transformation on Julian dates and amount fields

    Hi All,
    In our newly installed BI Publisher instance (10.1.3) is not doing any data transformation on JDE Julian dates and Decimals. I've read that these field values are supposed to be converted automatically. Is there some setting in the JDEJDBC driver connection that makes this happen?
    While working with Oracle support I've found the following:
    1. Beware of white space in the collection string.
    2. Make sure the JDE user logging in goes straight to JDE and has full view privlidges on the tables you are selecting on.
    3. Parameters are not supported by the JDEJDBC Driver -- this pretty much renders this application worthless. Does anyone know of any workarounds?

    JDEWorldJDBC.jar There is inbuild date conversion and decimal shift.
