IDoc packing with PI 7.1 EHP1

Hello,
how does IDoc packing (EHP1) work within a IDoc sender channel? Has anybody already tried it? Can I simply recieve "collected" IDoc from ECC (e.g. invoic IDocs) which are not splitted by IDoc adapter? So that I do not have to use a collect BPM any more?
Thanks!
Christoph

> that means I have to "create" an IDoc sender channel to receive IDocs from ECC? How can I define whether IDocs should be received via this IDoc sender channel or via the "standard" IDoc adapter?
>
Yes, you do have to create an IDOC sender channel.  The IDOC packaging option in the CC distinguishs a standard idoc channel from idoc channel with packaging.
> How to define the IDoc package size when I don't know how many IDocs will be sent from ECC to PI?
I would recommend you to watch the below video from the timeslot 00:45, you will  http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/events?rid=/library/uuid/40a412a0-9501-2c10-cb83-f124e23d5373&overridelayout=true

  • Query on Idoc Packaging with PI7.1 EHP1

    HI PI Experts,
I have a scenario where batch run triggers the 100's of Idocs in R3 in few milli seconds, which means all Idocs are triggered in one go From R3.
Do we still need to set Check box for Collect Idocs in Partner Profile in R3 for Idoc Packaging ?
I want to make out the difference in 2 configs for Idoc Packaging where
    A)  All Idocs are sent via Report run of RSEOUT00 at a go after collection.
    B) All Idocs are triggered at same time via Batch Run at same time.
    Assumption:
PI is configured to use Sender Idoc Adapter with Idoc Package Size of 10.
    OR
I frame my Query in other way"
What does Collect Idoc and running Report RSEOUT00 achieve to make sure that Multiple IDOC Nodes come into 1 XML message? OR Its only PI Sender Idoc Adpater take care of it when multiple Idocs of same type comes through PI?
    Please reply .
    Regards,
    Anurag

    Hi Anurag,
In the sender IDOC adapter if the packaging option is not activated, then the IDoc packages get split into single PI messages, one PI message per IDoc. IDoc sender functionality is enhanced to preserve and process IDoc packages without splitting the IDoc package into individual PI messages. I.e. single PI message contains multiple IDocs including control records. Where as running the report RSEOUT00 will just send all the IDOCs that are in waiting state to their respective destinations.
For the sender IDoc adapter to be able to process packages, it should receive the IDocs in a group. I.e. in the sender partner profile the packaging option has to be activated. Though you've activated the packaging option in the sender partner profile, If you dont check collect option in sendet IDOC adapter then the IDOCs get splitted into individual PI messages.

  • Idoc packing in sap pi 7.3

    Hi Gurus

is idoc packing is supported in sap pi 7.3 in idoc_aae running on java stack.
if it is working on java stack please help me.

    Hi,
What is the error that you're getting...You can use Idoc packaging in java idoc adapter(IDOC_AAE). If you check multiple idocs in single XI message (IDOC xml) checkbox in the  Idoc sender communication channel, packaging will be activated.

  • IDOC bundling & IDOC packing

Can you explain with examples for IDOC bundling & IDOC packing

    Hi
IDoc bundling is like sending multiple IDoc ...
Ex Scenario: U have file containing Multiple Sales order and for every sales order u are generating an IDoc so in the mapping u change the occurance of IDoc. Consider that the occurance of IDoc is 1-1 and now by exporting the IDoc and making changes to the occurance as 1- unbounded in the XSD. Now by importing this xsd we can send multiple IDoc this is IDoc bundling.
    IDOC Packaging on outbound side
IDoc Packing is someting Viceversa to IDoc Bundling.
Ex Scenario: Multiple IDoc each containing a Sales Order is sent to XI and we want a single file to be containg all the IDoc sales order details. So we collect all the IDoc sent by R/3 for a perticular time or condition and do a mapping to generate a single file.

    Hi
After uploading POs into SAP we are changing quantity and value in PO in Legacy system, and for this all IDocs are failed, subsequently these changes are not triggering to ECC.

  • EP 7.0 SP17 compatibility with BI 7.1 (EHP1)

    Hi There,
We are in the process of upgrading our BW 3.5 system to BI 7.1 (7.0
    EHP1).
Our Central Portal is running on EP 7.0 with Support Package 17 with
all necessary BI Java Components/SCAs and planning to use Central
Portal for BI i.e without Federated Portal.
Please clarify following with respect to upgrading BI to 7.1 and
leaving Central Portal on EP 7.0 SP17.
    1) Can EP 7.0 SP17 integrate with BI 7.1 (EHP1)?
    2) What are the limitations without EHP1 on EP 7.0
    3) What are the limitations without Federated Portal?
We would appreciate your comments on this.

  • Read MULTIPLE idocs data with all sgmn to my internal table in a single

    Dear SAP Folks!
I have a question, I know to read SINGLE idoc data with all segments, we have FM IDOC_READ_COMPLETELY but my requirement is to Read MULTIPLE idocs data with all segments to my internal table in a single shot without keeping this FM in loop! since it is performance issue, at a time i may want to read 1000 idocs data!
Could anyone please let me know is there any way to get this, keeping mind of performance and any other FM?
    Best Regards,
    Srini

    Hi,
I know idoc numbers and i can write a select Query to DB table EDID4 to get all segments data to my internal table. But i am looking for FM to do this. because i have too many number of idocs and each idoc is having many segments(I am thinking in performance point of view!) The FM IDOC_READ_COMPLETELY can accept only ONE IDOC number as import parameters at a time to get segment data. in similar way do we have any other FM? or other way? except select query to EDID4 table?

  • Want to add multiple idoc type with single message type.

    Hi Gurus,
I have a problem. I want to add multiple idoc type with single message type in WE20.
How we can do this in WE20 or is there any other way to do that?
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Srimanta.

    hi,
basically in partner profile i.e. in we20 , we add details to the receiver / sender port that we have created using we21.
so what exactly we do in that is that we first use the message type for those idocs that we have created.
now based on those message type we create a process code. now this is the reason why you cannot apply several message types with the same name in we20... as process code is unque for each message type.
so thats why you can only assign the same message name to several idocs in we82 and then in we20 define the process code for that message type.
    it will solve your problem.
    hope this will help you!!!
    Thanks & regards,
    punit raval.

  • File to multiple IDOCs scenario with the same receiver system

    Hi guys,
I have to design and implement the following scenario:
I will receive one file with many lines (Records) with data for materials, quantities, operations etc..
Based on the values of some fields of each line, I will have to create an IDOC for each material.
    For example:
if operation type = "INSERT", and Labor = 001 then create 3 Idocs of type MBGMCR with movement types=101, 261,311 that have to be posted one after the other to the same receiver system.
else if operation type = "INSERT", and Labor <> 001 then create an Idoc MBGMCR with movement type=311 and plant = 1001.
else if operation type = "Delete", and Labor = 001 the created 3 Idocs MBGMCR with movement type=312, 262 1002 and post them serially to the same receiver system.
else if operation type = "Delete", and Labor <> 001 the created 1 Idoc MBGMCR with movement type=312.
All IDOCS are posted to the same SAP R/3 system. We do not care about the sequence, except for the cases where 3 IDOCS are created.
I am trying to think of a good design in performance terms.
It is obvious that I will need BPM for sure.
I am thinking of creating a mapping program that will produce 4 message types for the different cases from the initial file and then create a different message mapping for each case from the message type to the IDOC.
I am asking you if I have to include everything (mappings) in BPM with a "fork" step?
Or shall I produce only the 4 message types and then post them to R/3 and execute the mappings in R/3?
    Best Regards
    Evaggelos

    hi,
    >>I am thinking of creating a mapping program that will produce 4 message types for the different cases from the initial file and then create a different message mapping for each case from the message type to the IDOC.
To me this seems to be the right solution.
here u will create different message mappings and write them sequentially in interface determination. the multi mapping will then be utilised in transformation step in BPM.
thus if this is the only requirement there is no need of using a fork step.

  • IDoc created with status 03 checked via we02, but couldnt find in XI

    Hi all:
Could you please do me a  favor?  implement a idoc to idoc issue. it has been created successfully .
as It is found that the idoc created with status of 03 -
data dispatched to  port ok (rather than 12 dispatch ok). however, I couldn't find  it via SXMB_MONI on XI,  there must be something wrong . coudl you please give me a hint ?
        Thank you very much!!!

    hi,
you need to check transaction SM58 (remove the user from it) and F8
it might be the reason that you didn't create a port in IDX1 on XI/PI
but you will see that in SM58

  • Info IDoc received with status 8 in BI but Data available in source system

    Hello Experts,
I am loading Budget Period (attributes) into PSA in BI.
Budget Period data Loading Issue : No data available while loading. But source system ie ECC has data in that data source
    Data source: 0PU_BDGTID_ATTR
    This is full load.
I checked that whether I am making any mistake during data selection. I could not find any issue. Message while loading data into PSA (Yellow Traffic light)
    No data available
    Diagnosis
The data request was a full update.
In this case, the corresponding table in the source system does not
    contain any data.
    System Response
Info IDoc received with status 8.
    Procedure
Check the data basis in the source system.
Already looked this thread and googled also.
Re: IDoc received with status 8.
    Check points:
    sm58 - NO issue
BD87 in ECC (RSINFO Idoc status: 03) -sucessful
BD87 in BI (RSINFO Idoc status : 53)
    ST22 - NO issue
sm37 - Job is successful (I could see Idoc no in ECC source system in Job log)
I am not sure if I am missing any thing.
    Thanks
    Rana

    Hi all,
I've got exactly the same issue with several extractors. I'm inialising the Master Data in a all new system, in the Quality the loads succeeded but in Prod it failed.
For instance with the basic DataSource "0FUNCT_LOC_TEXT", I've made the following test:
    RS3 (R/3) - > 0 data
    ST22 -> no short dump
    WE05 (Idoc) - > everything is ok
I reactivated the Datasource in R/3 (RSA5) and then deleted it and replicated it in BW but the same issue occured.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

If you have configured a fileport where on trigger of IDOC you are creating the file, you can look at the message type documentation and get the offset values for each field in each segment

  • IDoc to IDoc Scenario with High Volumes

We have requirement to load around 2.4 million idocs using XI from source SAP to target SAP system in ~8 hours. It's a IDoc to IDoc scenario with simple mapping involved.
I Have looked at various weblogs with the design optons such as BPM collect pattern, collect pattern using IDoc XML file and IDoc Packaging.
I am looking for inputs from real time experiences on such scenarios...i.e performanace statstics, best practices to handle such scenarios, hardware, XI basis tuning etc...
Please share any experiences on the same...
    Regrads
    Anand

    Thanks Michal and Chandra...
    Chandra,
I have looked into the weblog mentioned( option 2 - collecting idocs using IDoc XML port).
I undersatnd that performance would also depened on hardware, tuning, idoc size, mapping complexity etc, but just get a rough idea and to decide on the design I was looking for stats, approaches followed in other projects  and past experiences in such scenarios.
    Michal,
I cannot avoid collection of idocs as sending idoc's individually from source to target will have performance problems.
I can avoid BPM by using IDoc XML port collection ( option 2).
2.4 million idocs in 8 hours would mean that XI needs to process 300K idocs per hour.  I guess I need to try option 2  and check the performance.

    Anand
