IE browser loading status bar

When attempting to load the following page using IE (v6), the
SWF loads fine but the status bar at the bottom of the browser
indicates "1 item remaining....."
http://lakeplacid.com/flash/f/map/lodgingmap.cfm
The status bar will eventually complete, but it's not an
accurate alert.
The movie is fully loaded once the first frame is displayed.
Has anyone encountered this before?
This isn't THAT important, but I've had some complaints from
clients regarding the "misleading" information.
Thanks!

Some of the early workarounds for the recent Internet
Explorer changes (regarding active controls) cause the appearance
of incomplete loading. Flash 8 and Dreamweaver 8 now have officlal
updates that create new JavaScript and HTML publishing code, so
that pages containing SWFs load completely on all browsers, and
don't create the annoying warnings on IE.

  • Why is load status bar appearing on startup?

I just downloaded and installed Yosemite on my MacBook Air and Macbook Pro 13 inch notebooks.   Everything is working as it should.  But I noticed something I have not seen on previous OSX installs once the install is completed.   On each successive startup I see the Apple logo on a blank screen, which is normal.    But in addition to the logo I am now seeing a status load bar underneath the logo.  Usually I only see this status load bar on initial installs when components are being unpacked, configured and installed.   I am wondering if Yosemite is not installed completely and keeps re-loading components on each boot-up.  Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

I have exactly the same problem - grey screen with progress bar before computer fully opens. My wife has also installed yosemite - but her machine has the spinning wheel still before it fully opens. Two different laptops with yosemite behaving differently. Also my laptop finally opens - very sluggish in safari - whereas my wife laptop works fine. Something is not right!!!

  • Can you disable the status bar on a web browser from an applet?

I have a signed applet and am using plugin 1.3.1_02 with IE 5.5. I use the showStatus("text") method to display pertinent information to the user in the browser's status bar.
Currently I see all types of messages being displayed (in IE's status bar) as my applet communicates with the server. I would like to restrict what is shown in the status bar to show my system messages only.
Can I filter what is displayed or disable status bar functionality programmatically from the applet? Or possibly with a browser/plugin setting?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I think you can do that with Java to JavaScript communication.
    thanks,
    Srinivas.

  • Where is the refresh button and where is the bar at the bottom of the page that gives the loading status of the page? Why did you mess with something that was perfectly fine??

I updated to firefox 4 and it's not as good as the former version. There is no refresh button, and I use that a lot. There is no loading status bar at the bottom of the page and I liked the tabs BELOW the page address.
Why do you keep changing things, just for the H**L of it...

In Firefox 4 by default the Stop, Go and Reload (Refresh) buttons are combined and attached to the right hand edge of the location bar.
When you are typing in the location bar it will show the Go button. When a site is loading it shows the Stop button. At other times it shows the Reload button.
If you want separate buttons, right-click on a toolbar and choose Customize, you can then drag and drop the stop or reload buttons and place them elsewhere. If you place them in the order "Reload-Stop" on the right hand edge of the location bar they will be combined again. For more details on customizing the toolbar see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+customize+the+toolbar

  • Why does status bar say that all items are not loaded?

When I have the status bar displayed at the bottom of my page, and I load a page, it usually says 4 of 5 item complete, or 6 of 7, or even one time, 92 of 93. What does this mean exactly? And why does it never say all items are completed? Is anything wrong with the browser, or is this just code for something?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

These days web pages have many little extras, not just images, that have to be downloaded when we click on a link to a page. Sometimes, for a variety of reasons (file availability, internet problems, browser, bad coding, local cache, ISP problem) not everything downloads.
As long as the page seems to have all the information and nothing is apparently missing, I tend to ignore this.
When all items are completed, the status bar shows nothing.

  • Safari Status Bar, no information while loading page

This isn't new and I apologize if this has already been answered elsewhere but I looked and didn't find an obvious answer.  In past versions (?) Safari's status bar at the bottom of the browser window used to show information about page loading progress while the page was attempting to load.  Items like
x out of y items complete (or loaded or something like that)
    used to be displayed...
Now, and for some time now, nothing...  Why???
Now, there is nothing but the blue progress bar that moves left to right in the URL box while the page is loading...  As long as it's moving, then I can say progress is happening...  However, often the blue bar stops for quite a long time and by habit I still find myself looking down to the status bar to see what it says and it says nothing...
Again, this isn't new now but I'm just now getting curios enough to ask about it...
Am I doing something wrong or do I need to take some addtional steps to get useful information out of the status bar???
What's up with the Safari Status Bar???
    thanks...

But what about when a page is loading and the blue progress bar in the URL window stalls.  Anytime that happens I look down to the status bar and where it used to offer useful information, now it offers nothing.  What happened to that???  Is there anyway to get info on a seemingly stalled load of a page???
    thanks...  bob...

  • How can I disable an add on of a second status bar or browsing bar at bottom of screen above the Start button? It pops up showing every site I visit.

There is status/info/browsing line of information showing every single site I use and changes with every site I visit. It isn't in a box, but it shows basically all my browsing. It is like the address bar, but it is at the bottom of the screen and the information shows right above the 'start' button. If you try to click on it, it moves to the right side and you can't right click on it to see if you can close it. It may be an add on, but I don't know how to get rid of it. It is like I have two status bars but this one isn't in a box, it just shows in a line at the bottom of the screen. It shows all browsing information, and it is very distracting when I'm using my computer.

You appear to be describing the status messages. The easiest way to hide them is to use the Status-4-Evar add-on. With it you can choose to not display any of the status messages, or display them in the add-ons bar or location bar instead.

  • Pages not loading, suddenly today, status bar at bottom of page has red "J" for Java and I cannot figure out why or what to do

After using Firefox successfully for months, it started not loading full pages today, but showing "done" in the status bar at the bottom. I also noticed icons for Javascript, Java, Silverlight, etc., on the right side of status bar, JAVA one is red, but I don't know what that means.

  • Now that the "Status Bar" is gone, is there a way to hide the "status notification" (bottom left corner) when a page loads? This is on Windows & FF5/6

The so called "Status Bar" has apparently gone away since FF4, I'm now onto 6 I think, on my work machine. But one of the things I liked about the Status Bar was that it could be hidden entirely.
With no Status Bar, now when a page is loaded in FF, you get a floating "Status Notification" in the bottom left corner for a second or two while the page is loading (this even happens in FullScreen F11, something I never had to deal with when the Status Bar existed).
What I want to know is, is there a way to turn off this "Status Notification" entirely? A setting somewhere? Something in About:config? I haven't been able to find anything.

    1. Install the addon Status 4 evar, which puts the status text back in the status bar: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/
    2. Hide the status bar by right clicking the refresh button and unchecking "Addon bar"

  • Status bar no longer being displayed in browser

I am running an Oracle Application Server 10g (Forms and Reports services). When a form is displayed, it use to have the "default menu" displayed (action, edit,query...) and the "status bar" below the form. The status bar is no longer being displayed. I don't remember changing the configuration files (formsweb.cfg...) in anyway that would cause this.
    Does anyone have an idea?

    Tiago,
Are you refering to the browser status bar?
I'm referring to the oracle forms status bar which would display a frm-xxxxx error message should it occur. It was being displayed with all my forms, and now it is not.
    Thanks.

  • WL5.1sp8-NSAPI-IE-Status bar shows page is loading for minutes

I'm using WL5.1sp8, NES4.1sp6 on a Solaris 7 to deliver JSP pages over
    https.
I notice that the status bar on the bottom line of IE5 (windows NT)
indicates that the page is still loading for minutes, even though the
page appears to be complete. What could be happening to cause this?
This may be the symptom/cause of other problems I'm experiencing, such
as occosionally I will get a "The page cannot be displayed". I have
attempted to track that down, but when this happens, nothing is written
to NES's access log, thus maybe the request did not even get to the
    server.
    Thanks,
    Jon

  • Status bar with opera style page loading statistics?

Anyone ever seen an app or terminal code or something that allows us to see page loading stats (seconds taken, # images loaded, speed, etc) like the status bar in Opera or one you can load in FF? I would love to have this ability in Safari. I found one that gives instant feedback on W3C compliance of the loaded page, but not about page loading stats.

I want simple and quick view of time took page to load, how many images, speed, etc...
Load times can be found under Develop > Show Network Timeline, or by clicking on the Network icon located in the left-side column of the main Web Inspector window.
I use it sometimes BUT it is a stand alone window...
You might try clicking on the window-merge toggle button found in the extreme lower left corner of the Web Inspector window, directly underneath the Network icon. Good luck.

  • Status bar at bottom of browser is missing

Before updating to Firefox 7, I had the Ani-weather and Webmail add-ons that displayed at the bottom of the browser in the status bar. Now that status bar does not exist. When I went into the ani-weather configuration screen and set it to appear in the status bar I now get an error message stating that it couldn't put it in the location selected. What happened to the bottom status bar and how do I get it back?

dmcritchie, thank you for your reply and the links. I discovered shortly after I posted this question the information regarding the loss of the status bar starting with 4.0 and the need to install the add-on "status-4-evar" to get it back. Installed it and everything is as it should be.
Thank you again for the quick response.
