IE7 causes DW8 to forget FTP Connection information

Both the beta versions and final of IE7 cause my Dreamweaver
install to forget the FTP Connection information, and then refuse
to remember any of them again. Uninstalling IE7 remedies the
problem. Anyone else experience this?

Does anyone know where on the local machine the
FTP/Connection Key username and password is stored for the ftp
connection information?

I think this info will be encrypted, so when you know where
it's stored you cannot use it. Why are you looking for this? You
can contact you ISP if you lost these data and create a new
connection (if you connected using a key) or edit your connection
(if you created the connection yourself).

JAXP(saxon9B.jar) causing sqldeveloper to lose all connection information

While trying to implement Xpath 2 support from the Saxon9B.jar in netbeans, as part of the jaxp mechanism I placed the saxon9B.jar in the jre\lib\ext folder. Afterwards SQLDeveloper continuously emptied my connections.xml. Can't import backups, internal failure in oracles saxparser - wrong jar now in use. Can't create from scratch, nothing. Seems to look for saxon-dom.jar. I removed the Saxon9B.jar and all is once again good.
This is on Windows XP running SQLdeveloper 3.4 with Java 1.6.27

Finally I found the problem which takes me over a week to understand and its SILLY. I am posting here for all of us to never forget this atleast :-)
anyway the above problem as i mentioned earlier is that my newly added JAR files and existing were conflicting somehow.
I just had to add a class path of all of my new four JAR files to force my application to use these jar only not any other
which was missing and my application fails but test application works using ECLIPSE as i did not had anyother files in its 'lib' directory. I edit my script code from BEFORE to After and it all worked. (SILLY SILLY SILLY)

ATV keeps dropping wireless connection, loses connection information...

Hello.
I'm running the latest OS for ATV. Every other day I'm noticing, when I flip over to my ATV, that's it's lost its connection to my wireless network. I realize this may be the result of interference, but when the ATV drops its connection, does it also "forget" network connection information? I mean, I can understand dropping a connection because of interference, but shouldn't it remember the connection information, so when the connection is available again, it just reconnects?
I never had this issue with OS 2.x and only started with the OS 3.x upgrade.
I don't have the option to hardwire the ATV.

Since I went to 5ghz wireless N on Apple Extreme device none of my 4 ATVs have lost connection. That was 18 months ago. Before then I too experienced frequent and frustrating loss of signal problems. I picked up a used Apple Extreme on Amazon for about $100 and set it up in the basement, near the center of the house. It communicates well through 2 floors and multiple walls.

Securing your remote connection information.

Recently I had a security break in which a trojan virus uploaded malicious software to all of the sites I have hosted along with viruses to some sites I do not host, but had ftp connection information stored within both Cute FTP Pro and Dreamweaver CS4. This was one hell of a mess to clean up, bascially giving all of my hosting accounts new passwords, deleting all files currently online and re-uploading them to ensure the virus was eliminated completely. Upon researching this further, and discussing it with my hosting reseller technical support, they informed me that usually this type of trojan infects a local machineand transmits the virus by stealing the ftp login information from an ftp enabled program, downloading the file to be infected from the site, modifying it and re-uploading it to the site.
I have decided that storing my ftp login information within these programs is probably not safe and have resorted to just inputting the information (or just the password at the least) each time that I need to make changes to the site.
I guess what I am asking is what should I be doing to ensure that this sort of thing does not happen again?

From your description it seems you have check every possible solution for this case. For here suggest you to recheck whether there is proper network connectivity without any packet loss.
Apart, when you are using RDP file before that edit the RDP file with notepad and add following line under it.

Contribute cannot verify your connection information... Please notify your administrator."

After a initial network error last night, The Shared Settings
file was zapped. Contribute decided I was no longer the Admin, and
the Editor's connection also disappered.
I found the note that's pasted here, in the Contribute
Forums.
"connect to your server (using 3rd party ftp client) and
delete the _mm folder located on the root of the website - recreate
your connections and that should solve the issue"
I deleted the _mm folder. When I tried creating the
connection anew, contribute said, "Contribute cannot verify your
connection information... home/justandpeacefu/html/. Please notify
your administrator." Now it's the same error every time. I am
unable to make the new _mm folder.
Contribute Tech support sent me an email which didn't help.
It's at the very bottom.
Items 1-4 in the email are not the problem.
I am able to connect to the server, after the tech support
person reset something there.
I can make folders, and pages in FTP application;
there are no special characters;
permissions are fine;
Item 5 did not have any effect. I turned off Apple's personal
firewall, quit contribute, and tried again. Unsuccessful. Same
error.

As we have discussed on the phone earlier today, here are
common causes of getting a "cannot verify connection information"
when creating a connection in Contribute:
1. Not enough permissions on the root of the website - Make
sure you have enough permissions on the root of the website. Using
third party FTP software, verify that you are able to create
folders, upload and rename files, and delete files on the root of
the website.
2. There are special characters on the folder name of the
folder you are trying to connect to - Avoid special characters as
Contribute is not so compatible with them.
3. Incompatible FTP connection settings: When you are asked
to enter your FTP account information in the connection wizard,
click the advanced button. Make sure that the only options selected
are: "Choose FTP Server Settings Manually" and "Use Passive FTP to
connect to the server".
4. Verify that the FTP server is pointing to your web server.
Example: upload any temporary HTML file on the root of your
website; when you visit the URL:
http://[your_server
you should see the page render; You should not get a "Page cannot
be found".
5. Turn off any software firewall / antivirus running on the
background to isolate possibly conflicting processes.

I'm having the same problem as andres in the original post,
the message comes up when trying to Continue out of the "Remote
Path Info" box. I am able to browse to the location so Contribute
does know its there. This is with Contribute 4 on Mac OS X
connecting to a Linux server.
I manually ran the FTP connection tests via command line:

I also downloaded and ran FTP Connection Checker (on my
Windows machine) at:

The wording with these tests imply that they are the same
tests run by Contribute, i doubt that to be the case since these
pass but Contribute fails.
I have tried this with the site root and _mm folder set to
permissions of 777 with no luck. I am able to connect and edit
successfully with Dreamweaver and FTP with Transmit (Mac OS X).
I'm about out of things to try and my deadline to train the
client is coming up. Any further insight on this would sure be
appreciated!

In the ReportDocument.Load method it tries to connect using the using the connection information embedded in the Report File. When the application calls ReportDocument.Load(reportFileName). This
tries to connect to the database using the connection information embedded in
the "reportFileName". This was only realised on checking the ODBC Trace
Log. The connection itself is not a problem. The problem is that the embedded
connection information is related to OLD production system. And failed
connections had raised some concerns.
Note: I am using
SetDataSource to populate the data for the report. So I don't need the
connection.
Is there any way I
can disable this auto-connect?

Need help to Configure FTPS connection for File Sender Adapter

Hi,
I want to Configure, FTPS connection (Secured Connection) for File Sender Adapter. Could anyone please guide me, what Information I require to configure. I just want to know what Information should I request the team inorder the configure FTPS so that it can be deployed properly.
I have checked with [SAP Help Link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/e3/94007075cae04f930cc4c034e411e1/content.htm] and while configuring the communication channel found that I need Keystore and the X.509 Certificate and Private Key. which needs to be deployed on the J2EE server by using the Visual Administrator.
Is there anything else, I need to configure.
Any help would be appreciated in this regard.

The basic things are Certificate/Keys which you already know. Usually it is enough for running a sceanrio.
However, if you have additional requirements, like FTPS for "Connection Security" for encryption, then you may need additional details like commands. Rest all settings are same as FTP.

I've installed SQL Server 2012 SP1 + SP server 2012 + SSRS and PowerPivot add-in.
I also configured excel services correctly. Everything works fine but the powerview doesn't work!

Based on the current error message, the error can be related to the
Claims to Windows Token Service (C2WTS) and is an expected error under certain conditions. To verify the issue, please check the aspects below:
     1. The C2WTS Windows service and C2WTS SharePoint service are both running.
     2. Check the SQL Server Browser service is running on the machine that has the PowerPivot instance of SSAS.
     3. Check the domain. You're signing into SharePoint with a user account in some domain (call it Domain A). When Domain A is equal to Domain B which SharePoint server itself is located (they're the same domain), or Domain
A trusts Domain B.
In addition, the error may be caused by Kerberos authentication issue due to missing SPN. In order to make the Kerberos authentication work, you need to configure the Analysis Services to run under a domain account, and register the SPNs for the Analysis
Services server.
To create the SPN for the Analysis Services server that is running under a domain account, run the following commands at a command prompt:
• Setspn.exe -S MSOLAPSvc.3/Fully_Qualified_domainName OLAP_Service_Startup_Account

FTPs connection error:When using Variable substitution for Directory path

I am transferring data from BI to xml file via PI: Here a Client proxy from BI sends the data to PI and the PI FTPs the XML file to a remote location. For FTP I am using FTPs SSL connection.
It was working fine untill I used Variable susbstitution to determine Directory path dynamically. I am using this because different xml files are intended to goto the different locations.
I did the variable substitution like this:
Target Message Structure:

I guess the problem is not with Variable Substitution..
Error when getting an FTP connection from connection pool:
So its a connection problem..
Also check the option Disable Security check and try again...
Try to check again if the interface is executing properly without Variable substitution and let us know..

i am giving paranters like server IP address and the port , i dont know which port to give by default it is giving me 21 , anyway how to check whether the connection is correct

HI Sridhar ,
First check wether server started or not and then check you are connecting to FTP server by
go to run -> cmd and write ping and ipaddress which is used and see whether u r getting reponse from teh FTP server.
Try to login to the ftp server which you have mentioned in CC using the user name and pwd, to chk whether you have the permissions to login to the server.
Also the check whether the folder you are trying to access is having permission for delete/read/write.
Restart the FTP server and try it again.

ABAP to FTP connect to non SAP UNIX system

I'm looking for a way (via function modules and/or BAPI) to transfer data in flat files from an SAP UNIX system to a non-SAP UNIX system using an ABAP program. I see FM's FTP_CONNECT and FTP_COMMAND however these seem to only work with UNIX systems running SAP as they require RFC_DESTINATION information. Anybody know which (if any) FM's can be used without the necessity of the target system running SAP/RFC?

Broken Ftp Connection and big files problem

I have a problem with big-files downloading.
Does anybody know how to resume downloading using FTP-connection?
Or how can I get bytes from FTP connected file using something like random access to avoid the restart of downloading the file?
"InputStream" does not support "seek"-like methods.

RESTART (REST)
The argument field represents the server marker at which
file transfer is to be restarted. This command does not
cause file transfer but skips over the file to the specified
data checkpoint. This command shall be immediately followed
by the appropriate FTP service command which shall cause
file transfer to resume.
You should also be aware of RFC 959 Section 3.4.2 on BLOCK MODE transfers which is what allows FTP to REST a connection and "skip" n-bytes of a file.

AFAIK at present there is no FTP API's avalable from J2ME/MIDP front that you can use to establish an FTP connection.
Meanwhile I have a pretty easier solution for you. You can use Jakarta Commons Net API's at the App server end to communicate to the intended FTP server by means of Servlet so that you can form an Http response as per your requirements. for e.g.:- you issue ftp command from J2ME client and pass it over http to the Servlet residing in your app server. internally the web-tier component establishes the link to the FTP server and responds appropriately based on the issued commands.
You can also use a telnet client that uses socket communications but the approach mentioned above I rekon would be a feasible one bcause the Usability matters the most when it comes to Mobile applications.

SQL Transformation - Static connection information is inappropriate

Hello,
I'm a newbie to Informatica and I have a problem with the SQL Transformation.
The mapping I created is valid. I created a session and a workflow. I set correct DB connections for the source and target in the "mapping" properties of the session.
But when I start the task it fails with the errors:
[ERROR] Failed to get the connections
[ERROR] Static connection information is inappropriate to create a valid Database handle
In the Informatica help it is written for SQL Transformation for Static connection - which type of connection is my SQL Transformation - "Configure the connection object in the session. You must first create the connection object in Workflow Manager." What does it mean?
Why static information could be inappropriate?
Informatica Version: 8.6.0
Oracle DB Version: 11g2

According to your post, my understanding is that you got an error in your PowerView report.
The error may be caused by Kerberos authentication issue due to missing SPN. In order to make the Kerberos authentication work, you need to configure the Analysis Services to run under a domain account, and register the SPNs for the Analysis
Services server.
To create the SPN for the Analysis Services server that is running under a domain account, run the following commands at a command prompt:
Setspn.exe -S      MSOLAPSvc.3/Fully_Qualified_domainName OLAP_Service_Startup_Account
     Note:      Fully_Qualified_domainName is a placeholder for the FQDN.
Setspn.exe -S      MSOLAPSvc.3/serverHostName OLAP_Service_Startup_Account
