If Firefox is active on another user on my desktop, it will not connect with a website for a second user. What is wrong?
The only other thing I can tell you is that I have brought up a website with firefox on both user accounts on my desktop computer on which the operating system is Windows 7, and I cannot get to a website on the second user account. Also this is a problem of recent origin. I had no trouble previously.
When I right-click on the "Subscribe" link in Firefox and choose "Inspect element", I can see that there is another element (a div element with id="layer73" and the text "Pledge online") floating in front of the subscribe link. This is preventing mouse clicks from reaching the link underneath.
It looks like you could fix this by changing the style of the "layer73" div to have a smaller height.

I know the data connection is available because the phone browser works. Are there any settings I need to change? It's on the Orange UK network. They have failed to help me (their suggestions don't work)
It seem the browser can't 'see' the cellular network.Have you tried the Easy Link Advisor application that Lynksys offers (free). It help me set up my network and it's very "User Friendly". It checks all of your router settings and then will walk you through the process to connect your PC's to the network. It's a large file, but worth it (for me anyhow) to download, install, and set up my network. Good luck!

Firefox will not connect to any website but other browsers can
I installed firefox on my new advent laptop running windows 7 but it will not connect to any websites. I can connect using chrome or ie no problem but i always preferred firefox as a browser, i have tried changing settings and turning off my firewall but still having no luck
Okay, here is my answer to this problem. At least it fixed my problem and firefox now works fine.
Prior to this problem I was running zonealarm (free firewall) everything worked fine until I removed zonealarm free and installed Comodo free firewall. That is when the trouble started. firefox failed and IE kept working. I tried everything posted here nothing worked for me.
I resorted to "REGEDIT" and removed everything in my registry that regedit would allow that had the name of "zonealarm" on it. Didn't even have to reboot my system, firefox worked first thing. Everything else is fine also.
[note: this is not a slam against Lavasoft's ZoneAlarm firewall. It is just that UNINSTALL programs do not always do a thorough job of removing parts of programs in your systems and registry cleaner programs do not pick them up either.]
USE CARE, "REGEDIT" IS A POWERFUL AND DANGEROUS TOOL TO USE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE NOT A SOMEWHAT ADVANCED USER. USE CARE WITH "REGEDIT!"
Good luck.

Firefox will not connect to any website following upgrade. Anti-malware is not blocking AFAIK
Firefox will not connect to any website *at all* since upgrading to latest version. No mention of Firefox anywhere in firewall- and anti-malware-related services (Intego VirusBarrier X6 V10.6.13).

I need to download FF4.0 to get through my corporate firewall. All I can download is FF5.0 which will not work. How can I download FF4.0?
#A link to Firefox 4 versions will not be offered by any '''''responsible''''' contributor here, because Firefox 4 versions contain stability and security issues <u>that will not be corrected</u>. Firefox 4 is a thing of the past.
#The only currently supported versions that a '''''responsible''''' contributor here will offer are Firefox 5 and Firefox 3.6.18. Firefox 3.6.18 is currently scheduled for support for only 2-3 more months, then it, too, will be a thing of the past. Firefox 6 will probably be introduced about the time the Firefox 3.6.18 support is discontinued.
#To downgrade to Firefox 3.6.18, follow these instructions '''''very carefully''''':
#*Back up your personal information (bookmarks, passwords, etc.) before proceeding just in case something goes wrong: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing%20up%20your%20information
#**'''''If you need to''''', see the following article. See the last 2 sections "Copying files between profile folders" and "Your important data and their files" to restore important information '''''if something goes wrong in the downgrade''''': https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering%20important%20data%20from%20an%20old%20profile
#*Download and SAVE Firefox 3.6.18 to your Desktop, then proceed as in the "Clean re-install" article below: https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
#*Clean re-install: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Clean_reinstall
#*You may also need to reset your extension databases in your profile folder. Do the procedure after locating your profile folder (see "Back up your personal information" above) and closing Firefox. The files will be automatically re-built when you re-start Firefox: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions_-_Firefox#Corrupt_extension_files -
Using Firefox 6.0. No connectivity with any website yesterday.
The download was 5.0.1; which is now working and retains all features of the previous version includingYou do not have the properties in the Bookmarks Manager (Library), but you should have it if you right-click a bookmark the Bookmarks Toolbar or in the bookmarks sidebar.
On Mac you probably do not have it if you right-click an item in the Bookmarks menu (this menu is under control of the Mac OS), but I assume that this should work if you click the "Show your bookmarks" button on the Navigation Toolbar that is next to the star to bookmark the current tab and right-click an item in the bookmarks list that opens. -

I had had problems with the Quick time feature that came with Nikon's Picture Project software and had to delete it. (Actually, the operating system deleted it and Picture project when it repaired itself by reverting to a previous configuration.) I noticed that Quick time was again installed when I updated Firefox. Since I can't get the machine up and running, I am at a loss as to how to remove Quick time if that is what needs to be done.
I suggest taking it back to Best Buy. Once it has been opened, Apple will not handle the phone. Best Buy or another 3rd party are your only choices. Best Buy probably made an error when replacing the screen. Understand they are not an authorized Apple Service Center.

Firefox will not connect to any website
I use Firefox to connect to the internet, on a WindowsXP and Windows 7 machine. A day or two ago, both had updates added on shut down. Now, Firefox doesn't work on the Windows 7 machine. Error message looks like: "Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.google.com.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."
Internet Explorer works. Added Mozilla to list of allowed sites on the Firewall, still same message. Removed and reloaded Mozilla, still same message. I assume the Microsoft update prevents Mozilla (the old "DOS ain't done till LOTUS won't run" updated to "Windows ain't done till Firefox won't run") from working.Okay, here is my answer to this problem. I have been using firefox for a while, then it would not connect, I have change nothing on my computer. I double checked the firewall and browsers .
I downloaded another exe and it still will not go to the page.
What can I doA possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

On 13th of the month only, Firefox will not connect with Google.
I only noticed on Dec 13th that Firefox v34 or v35 wiii not connect to any Google site on the 13th of the month. It occurred on 13th January too. After that I experimented with the date reset facility in Windows XP, ran a reboot and found I could reproduce this problem. Google search, maps, analytics are all affected and browser eventually says "server times out" with a plain grey background.
I have devised a routine that backsteps and then jumps for a date so that "the 13th" never happens again on this system.Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Many add-ons work only with a particular range of Firefox versions. After the upgrade, Firefox will attempt to find new compatible versions. This is not always possible.
To determine whether an add-on you can't live without has a version for Firefox 11, you can check the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ Add-ons site] or try this add-on to make that a little easier (I haven't tried it myself): [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/is-it-compatible/ Is It Compatible? :: Add-ons for Firefox].
By the way, many recent posts report problems with Skype add-ons, so you might want to research here if you notice any strange copy/paste problems. -
Firefox not connecting to Addon Website for Updates
Firefox says it is unable to connect to Mozilla Addon site when I try to update my addons. Likewise, it gives the same error when I try to update addons directly from their page on the Firefox Addon Website.

Using the link you provide in both Firefox and Safari I go straight to a login panel that requests userid and password. Selecting 'Cancel' drops me out to the www.123-reg.co.uk site.
That's exactly what I found too, using Safari 5.1 on a MacBook Pro. -
I am not sure if this is a plugin or extension. All I know is that it worked with the old version of Firefox. It is very important to me to be able to use this feature. Any help would be appreciated.
THIS ISSUE IS RESOLVED FOR ME.
When I opened this pop-up to view the settings (File > Page Setup > "Format & Options": Scale ), the Scale value was 40%. Changing it to 100% corrected the issue I observed.
To my knowledge, I have not been inside this pop-up window before to set the Scale option. Could this value be affected by other actions within Firefox? I noticed this while using v12 which was installed 24Apr2012.I know it worked correctly since that installation, so why did the Scale value change?
UPDATE: I just realized that the Scale option in print preview sets the Scale value in the settings. NOTE TO ALL: This is a sticky setting, not just a setting for a specific output request. -
