If I back up my iPod Touch using iCloud and then restore it, will I be able to get back all my photos, app data, etc?

About 5 months ago I was clearing up space on my PC. I had moved music that was in my music folder onto a USB and I thought that I could do the same with my iTunes Library folder onto my USB. But it wouldn't fit, so I moved it back. But when I went to back up my iPod it didn't recognize it anymore. I haven't been able to restore it anymore. Just until now I'm trying to see if I could back-up my data & photos to iClod and then Restore it, but I'm just a little unsure. Can anybody just reasure me that this will OR will not work.

I don't really think that you need to restore your device in order to sync it again with iTunes. I suspect all that you need to do is connect the device to iTunes and then accept it as a new device and choose the option to start syncing with that library.
Of course, it would be a good idea to back up to iCloud before you did this.

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from a computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing. If you want to remove them all then normally you could just sync an empty folder (in terms of photos) to the iPad, but as you don't want to sync at the moment you can't do that.
You can reset the iPad back to factory settings and start from scratch with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings

Sounds like the Activation Lock (iOS 7) is working as designed. It determs theft since y have to know the APple ID's passward to use/restore the iPod foro use. Unless you can get the password you have a nice but thin brick. Likely the iPod was stolen

Some developers have created both an  iOS and a Mac OS X version of their app, but you will need to buy each one separately from their respective app stores. Buying one version does not give you the other version for free, unless they are free apps.

iPod touch was working fine, next time no power uo

You should try doing a restore. A restore on your ipod touch will delete all it's storage and set it back to it's factory conditions but it should fix your problem. Before the restore, I suggest making a backup file for your ipod touch on itunes.
    To restore your ipod touch:
1.Connect your ipod touch to your computer and open itunes if not already open.
2.Select your ipod touch name in the devices section of the source pane.
3.Click the restore option under the version section in the summary tab. An alert will pop up asking you if you really want to do this. To affirm, click restore.
4.The restore process has now started.
With  your ipod touch restored, you can resync it working fine.

  • Ipod reset to old setting with old icloud ID.  How do I reset it to use new login for icloud and then restore from icloud backup

My upgrade to iOS 8 failed and I had to restore my iPad from an old backup (since restoring from cloud wasn't given as an option).
Now the iPad has my old iCloud account configured instead of the one I've been using for the past year or so.  How do I:
    1. Get the iPad to use the correct iCloud account?
    2. Restore the iPad from an iCloud backup?
Everytime I try to log out of iCloud it prompts me for the password on the old account to allow me to turn off "Find my iPad".  I don't think that account even exists anymore.  I tried to reset the password on the old account (using an old email address), but the password email never arrives.
    Help!

Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

  • Lost all my photos, apps, contacts, etc.. How do I get them back?

Two weeks ago, I backed up my iPod because I was going to send it back to Apple for them to fix it. I just received my iPod back today so I wanted to get all my stuff back. So I backed it up and the only thing I got back was my music. How do I get all my other stuff back? I don't really mindredownloading all my apps, but the other stuff I actually care about. I had about 200 photos of my friends and family but I can't seem to get it back. I had like 30 or so contacts but I don't know how to get them back without asking them in person. All my calendar events are gone, and I want to see what event I had in the past so I could look back.
So anyways, the problem is when I restored it from the backup I did before I sent it back, I get nothing I needed and only received music. Does anyone know where all my stuff went?

I just went thru this same problem--Apple Tech got me thru it.  He sent me this link:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Read it first; then plug in your Ipod to Itunes.  When it's it's visible on the left side, right click on the unit-you should see "Restore from back-up"; click it and then try to finda backup version just prior to when you sent it away.  Select it and restiore to it.  This fixed mine!!!
If all else fails, call Apple tech support.
    Good luck

  • Is there a way to un-sync my iPod from one computer and then sync it to another computer with iTunes without losing all my data or downloading software?

Hi, I'm selling my current computer that my iPod is synced to and want to un-sync (I think the correct term of phase is) my iPod from my current computer, so i can then sync it to my new computer without downloading any software or deleting all my data. Is this possible? If so, please tell me how. As usual, any help would be helpful.

    Do this:
    - iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
    - Then import into your new computer
    - Copy any synced photos to the new computer
    - Backup the ipd to the new computer
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup. The link directly above says how.

  • My Ipod touch turns white and goes back to restart with this weird code thing what should i do

There is this code thing on my start screen and sometimes when i turn it on it stops what its doing and restarts from there and it happens all over again what should i do?

    Try the following:
    - Reset. nothng will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
If you have problems restoring, try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then restore. For recovery mode see:
