If i buy a new ipad and bring it to England will it still work with the different voltages and the 3G/4G?

if i buy a new ipad and bring it to England will it still work with the different voltages and the 3G/4G?

They both seem to cover the same 3G bands - from http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/ :
Wi-Fi + 4G for AT&T model: 4G LTE (700, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
Wi-Fi + 4G for Verizon model: 4G LTE (700 MHz); CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz);UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
CDMA isn't any use here as there aren't any UK CDMA based carriers, they are all GSM/sim card based (I'm not aware of any CDMA carriers in Europe). As the AT&T version appears to support an extra 4G LTE band then that might be the better one.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will not remove any third-party apps, just the settings. If you wish to restore to "as new," then:
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (or if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or if you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
You will be prompted to Restore as New or Restore from a Backup. Choose the first option.

    Hello SavannahSweetie,
I was looking into the issue you are desribing, and found a great article for troubleshooting wifi connections with iOS devices. It's called iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections and can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398.
Start with this section, and work your way down if needed.
    Basic troubleshooting
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and then on again.
Verify that you are in range of your Wi-Fi router or base station.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and Cable/DSL modem are connected to power and turned on.
Check whether other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware. For AirPort Base Stations, refer to this article for information about firmware updates. For third-party Wi-Fi routers, check the manufacturer's website for details on updating your firmware.
Restart your iOS deviceHold the On/Off button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.
    All the best,
    Sterling

Wifi is not available where I come from. I have broadband connection where data transmission is through cell sites then to USB modem connected to a computer. The modem draws power from the computer. Will this setup work with the ipad?

iPad requires Wifi (or 3G /LTE) to connect to the Internet. You cannot connect a USB modem to the iPad.
You can create your own WiFi hotspot through your computer for your iPad to connect to, if your computer supports this functionality. All Wifi Macs and many Wifi PCs do. Check your computer manual for how to do it.

  • Buying a new iPad and selling my old one.

I currently have an iPad 2 16Gb wifi, and I'm upgrading to a retina 4th gen same spec, a work colleague is buying my old iPad and I was wondering how I go about resetting my iPas 2 so he can register it?

    Hey dray67
All you would need to do is restore the iPad, and then the other person goes through the setup process. The article below will give the steps to take care of it for you.

  • I have a ibook G4 which has become redundant as my phone will no longer work with the version of itunes installed (latest it can use), how can I back up my phone to transfer to a new computer (a PC now)?

My iphone 4s (7.1.1) will no longer work with my ibook G4 which is running 10.5.8. I have a PC which i'm now going to have to use, I've manually transferred my music and photos, but how do I go about transferring my contacts and calenders. What does itunes on PC sync to in terms of contacts and calenders?
    Thanks!

    Hi there BDempster,
You may find the information in the articles below helpful.
iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
iTunes 11 for Windows: Sync contacts, calendars, and other info with iPod, iPhone, or iPad
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12317
You can use iTunes to sync the contacts, calendars, notes, Safari bookmarks, and email account information on your computer with your iPod, iPhone, or iPad. iTunes also syncs this information from your device to your computer—for example, if you add contacts on your iPad, syncing adds those contacts to Windows address book or Outlook Express on your computer.

  • Will my MBA work with the new LED Cinema Display

I have a first generation MBA, model identifier MBA 1.1, and want to know if my mini display adapter will work with the new LED Cinema Display. I believe I have a micro-DVI that is different from the new MacBooks and MacBook Professional models that have a new Mini DisplayPort. If anyone is using this old MBA to new LED Cinema Display combination please let me know.

    Scott,
The new display isn't shipping from Apple until some time in November so the only direct feedback you'll get is from anyone that's been to the store and played with the demo unit.
With that being said, it would appear (based on the system specs and requirements, posted on the site) that the new display requires the new adapter type that's found only on the new MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

  • Will Boot Camp work with the new Macbook Airs?

I want an 11.6" MBA now, but I want to be sure I can put Windows 7 on it if I need to. Will this just work like the other MacBooks? Does the new MBA software USB key come with the Boot Camp setup files? Thanks!

I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 on my MBA 11" using a USB flash drive and a program called rEFIt, http://refit.sourceforge.net. it's a free program that also lets you install Linux too. you can even triple boot.
i have had no problems with my MBA and i've had it for a few weeks now. it's awesome.
for those curious how i managed to install Win 7 via USB flash drive, i used a free program from MS that you can find here. http://store.microsoft.com/Help/ISO-Tool?err=t2#at2
    i hope that helps.
now i must go post a new thread with my problem of enabling AHCI on the MBA!

  • Using a BEFSR41v3 with a WRT110 and will a WRE54G work with the WRT110

I want to use the BEFSR41 as my main router and use the WRT110 as an access point (wired from the BEFSR41) on the 2nd  floor of my house. Will this work?  Will I lose speed??
Is the WRE54G compatible (and will it work) with the WRT110?

If you want to use WRT110 with BEFSR41 then, you need to hardwired the wireless router to the wired router using an ethernet cable.Follow this link to cascade both the router.
If the Range Expander is version3 then,it should work with WRT110.

  • The co-op have withdrawn the iPad 3 from sale and it will be replaced by a new iPad. Does anyone know if there is an issue with the iPad 3 that would have led to the upgrade? Thanks Mark

Is there an issue with the latest iPad (3)? Why has it been replaced by an upgrade?

No, there's absolutely no issue.  I guess the co-op just thought that now that the new iPad is available, and costs the same as the iPad 3 used to cost, it might as well offer the latest.

  • HT1695 I am trying to print wirelessly and get no air printer found. I have a new hp 3523 wireless printer but can't make it work with the new iPad. Do I need a special driver or is there another way for it to work

How do I set up so I can print wirelessly to my hp wireless printer.

    Hi,
The printer do support AirPrint (the HP Deskjet 3525 is part of the 3520 Series).
Make sure your printer connected to the same router as your iPad and it shold be listed..
Be aware that you need iOS 4.2 or higher and your router should support Multicasting for AirPrint to work..
If the printer isn't listed please clarify your router brand and model, some routers don't offer Multicasting or have the protocol disabled by default.

  • If I buy an iPod from USA will it still work in the UK?

If I buy an iPod touch in USA will it work in the UK?

As stedman says, it will work. A note of caution though.
First of all, the price you see listed in the Amercan online store and in the store itself does not include sales tax, which will be added when you pay for it. (Prices shown in the UK physical and online stores are inclusive of VAT {sales tax} and we pay the price shown.)
Then, when you bring it back into the UK, you must declare it at customs and it will be subject to import duty. I have no idea how much that is. If you manage to buy one online, (and that won't be from an Apple source, because they won't allow you to do so) then once again, when it comes into the UK it will be subject to taxation. In fact, not only you will find that it import duty is added, but the shipper will add their chanrge as well, since they (the shipper) will be collecting the tax from you to hand on to the government.
So if you are intending to buy in the USA in order to save money, be warned that you probably won't.

  • Is there a way to export all of my music from my hard drive to an external drive, connected to my computer and have iTunes still work with the music library located on the external drive?

I do not have enough room on my hard drive for all of my music collection and want to export the music files to my external 300GB hard drive rather than purchase and configure a new, larger hard drive for my computer.  Can I export all of my music library to the external drive and configure iTunes to always store music there, and operate seemlessly with the music library on the external drive?

I just bought my ipad mini two weeks ago. Just curious how come my battery percentage will drop even though I am still charging it. And this happen twice. I never do anything with the ipad when charging as I left it to charge while i went to sleep.

There must be a loose connection somewhere; check all your connection points or try another wall socket.
If it still doesn't work, try another cable and charger.
