Time Machine does not provide archival storage.
If you delete a file from your disk it will eventually be deleted from your TM backup without any notice to you.
You need a second external disk to use for archival storage.
You also need a third disk for backups of the second disk.

You make a sparse bundle.. but don't ask me how that is different to a bundle of savings. Sparsebundle is what the special TM backup is called. It is a kind of disk image I think.. what makes it sparse is unclear as well.

So you can get a utility that does utilities.. and not pretty faces.
And go to the disk page and erase the drive.. a quick erase is plenty and is pretty fast.

Same thing happened with my iPhone 4S - no one is any help. Thanks Apple for such a crappy update! I've called Apple, they say the SIM card needs replacing, I go to my service provider they tell me nothing wrong with the SIM card - provider tells me I now need a new phone. Sheesh! Same problem with the mouse, but with the mouse I can leave the cursor in place in the text field and move to the keyboard to type. As long as the cursor is in the field it stays editable.
The problem with the pen is it's in my hand all of the time. I just flip it up under my thumb against my palm to type. So, as soon as I move the pen, the field goes away and I can't type in it. Hoping this is making sense.
My tablet does have the touch function too, and I just found out I can use my finger to tap in the text field, then type. I guess that'll be my solution since I prefer not to leave a mouse set up on this iMac.
I'm thinking now that this is just a problem with the pen itself, and nothing to do with iPhoto. So glad to have this figured out! I really like iPhoto '11! So much easier for me, a simple P&S gal, than Aperture 3. I use iPhoto Library Manager too and love it!

I do not know if it's relevant or not, but I got a message on my ipad while on safari saying that my iPhone has a virus. I looked it up and it seems it might have just been an ad from the website I was on, but it happened around the same time YouTube stopped working.

You will find that using the YouTube app will provide a better viewing experience for YouTube videos.

I've read that Q/T is not just a simple application but in reality, a major component of the OS. This is where it varies from other similar acting apps like WMV, AVI, FLV etc. To butress this statement, in a vague way, I remember seeing a graphic of the Mac OS when Apple was first pushing "X". QuickTime was in the same general area of depth in programming as UNIX.
So, you might not want to delete all of QuickTime just the Reg Key which should/could/might put you back to the non Q/T Pro functionality and thence legal to install on another machine.
Just be certain that the version on the new machine is the same as on the old machine or expect to buy a new $30 key.

I currently have an Airport Extreme Base Station in my Home Office in the basement and would like to purhcase a TC to be placed upstairs to extend the Wireless Signal and also use it with TM to backup several apple computers.
Do I need to run a Network Cable from the AE in the basement to the TC unit or can I simply piggy back off the wireless signal produced by the AE? I can do either, but just want to make sure I get what i'm looking for.
I'm also running Apply TV in many rooms....will the TC unit produce a new wireless signal or extend the wireless already in the house. This is critical as Apple TV Units and the device connecting to it must be on the same network.

Wired Ethernet cable connections are strongly preferred in setups like this, since there is no speed loss in a wire....and much less chance of an error occuring over a wired connection. The wireless signal produced by the Time Capsule will be much faster with a wired connection as well.
Wireless between the AirPort and TC might work.....IF....the Time Capsule is located where it can receive a really strong signal from the other AirPort, but at best, the speed will drop by about half when you do this.
