Hp 2000 did factory reset, won't boot up, need disc but don't have one!!!! What can I do.....???????
I had to do a factory restore on my hp 2000. It said it completed to then click finish to restart so I did, but now it won't boot back up says I need the windows disc, but I don't have one. Called tech support my warranty is out so I had to pay (ok I get that but at the moment im flat broke, no joke!). Ok so what can I do to recover this without a disc??? I was told there are steps but I don't know them!! My kid uses that laptop for school, so I really kinda need to figure this out. If anyone could be so kind as into help me out that would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you for taking the time to read this!!
If you are in US or Canada there is an option to order Recovery Disks on your support page in the 'drivers & software' list for around $16. You can find your support page using the link at top of this page titled "Support and Drivers". To find the correct page you will need full Model number or Product number as listed on the Service Tag attached to bottom of laptop. If you need more help locating the support page please post your Model number and Product number.

If the laptop came with Windows 7 AND you can read the 25 character Microsoft Windows 7
license key attached to bottom of laptop , you can download a Windows 7 ISO file to burn to a DVD The version must match the one listed on the Microsoft COA sticker, such as Windows 7 Home Premium.

Well, thank you for that advice, ignoring Don's advice....in this whole process my power went out and I now have more questions than answers....
I had to start from the beginning, I used the install dvd and used utilities to erase the hard drive and reinstall the Snow Leopard OS X. As I followed the directions and it appeared to complete the install, I had the screen to sign-in as I would when the computer was running normally, I was able to sign-in BUT that is where I am now, not able to do anything but use the install dvd to run whatever I choose, (utilities, restore from timemachine, etc).
I am not sure what do, I have the install disk ready do to whatever, but I need some advice that can hopefully get me out of this mess?!?!?!?! -

Take it to the nearest Apple Store, they'll be more than happy to restore it for you. If the nearest store isn't all that near, take it to a friends house that iTunes on their computer. -

By the way, seal the rice bag with the ipod in it if you do it that way. But, I would let it dry for several days. If it was completery submerged I would blow more air on it. Only thing I would be afraid of is if water hasn't already gotten to the internal components, that the air might force it farther up. If it's not working, I would definitely blow the air on it.

My mac is a version 10.5.8. I just downloaded ios7, and it is telling me I need to download iTunes 11 to connect to my phone, but I don't have a new enough version. What do I do?! I think snow leopard was the last update I purchased. Is there a way to convert my phone back? I need to be able to update it, but don't have the money for a new computer.. Help!
10.5.8 is Leopard, not Snow Leopard. Leopard ran on both PPC and Intel Macs, but Snow Leopard runs only on Intel Macs. iTunes 11 will run on Snow Leopard, though I'm not sure whether iOS7 requires a higher system (Apple seem to specify only itunes 11 and not an OSX system so you may be OK). However if your Mac is a PPC you cannot proceed; if it's an Intel one you can purchase Snow Leopard in the Online Store (search for Snow Leopard to find it quickly) - it's not expensive. It's not possible to roll your phone back to iOS6.

I dropped my iPod touch 4 generation on my kitchen tile and it shattered, like chunks of the screen are coming off. But everything works and I’ve had it for a 1 ½ years now. There are independent iPod repair services that may be able to repair the iPod for less. Do a web search for "ipod repair". Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPod serviced by an unauthorized shop, all further warranty will be void.

How can I use pdf pack to convert cubase documents (music scores) into pdfs? I am looking for the former possibility to install acrobat like a printer but i don't have this option with "pdf pack". Can you help?

What format are those music scores (I'm not familiar with cubase documents). But, it may be that Adobe PDF Pack doesn't support that format. In that case, Acrobat is the way to go. You can then print your files to PDF as you'd like. You're welcome to try Acrobat for free for 30 days to see whether it's going to work for you. If you decide it is, and you'd like to use it going forward, you could convert your PDF Pack subscription into an Acrobat subscription.

I have been reading about iphoto 11 and there has been a lot of bad press when using with the iphone, ipad etc. Is it, in your opionion, too much hassle just for photo stream?

I have the same problem on my iMac. My facetime has been working, but now I'm getting the same error as You. I've been through the following:
The stuff that Linc Davis suggested, new profile on iMac, moved iMac into DMZ zone with no firewall rules, tested with other Apple-ID, checked hosts file, checked different timezone settings, tried to connect to 2 mobile APs (with diferent providors), changed DNS servers (ISP's DNS + Google DNS + Open DNS) - Nothing helped. Also talked to Apple Support, since i have Apple Care, but the seem to be a bit clueless also Well I've mailed them the results of my different tests, so lets see what they come up with - Unfortunately I'm sure it will be the same suggestion as all the major PC manufactures suggests, reinstall and test - RIGHT !!!!!!
If I get solution, I'll post it here.

[Solved] KDE4 doesn't do stuff when I plug in a drive or insert a CD
When I plug in a USB drive or insert an audio CD, KDE4.3 won't automount it, or even ask me what to do with it. I'd like for it to at least automount USB drives. This says KDE4.3 can do that, but I can't find an option for it anywhere. I've followed
