If i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it as the option 'set up as new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos and ect?
if i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it to the option 'set up as a new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and log into my apple ID so i can just restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos, contacts, ect. and then later i can add contacts that i need/want instead of them restoring them from icloud?
The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...
and i hope you understand my problem..

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. IPod Touch 5th gen headphone jack and battery not working properly
Yesterday my iPod touch 5th gen's battery started draning at an incredible rate. Won't last longer then 1 or 2 hours now. And add onto it the headphone jack stopped working properly. It's now only plays in one ear, it's all static over the sound it's supposed to play. I baby my iPod. This all happened out of the blue. What do I do to fix it?

iPod touch 5th gen will only sync to iTunes using an old lightning cable that it's falling apart, will charge with another cable but it won't sync to iTunes already try reset and restore same results..I also update everything using a Mac mini and latest iTunes version and 8.1.3 iOS on iPod touch any help will be really appreciated also try different computer like a macbook pro no luck.

Laptop hard drive broke so had to buy a new one and obviously now need to sort out my itunes.
Did try downloading all my purchased stuff onto itunes but it has missed some things off, and there are some files I did not purchase from itunes so need a way of getting them back on there.
Sure this question has been asked a million times but can't find anything to help me on here so thought I'd ask.
-Did have a look at going onto the start menu and opening the hidden items thing but couldn't see any reference to ipod or device on it so wasn't sure how to do it that way.
-On itunes under my device when its connected, the section about manually restoring and backing up, would that help me? Because that says it will manually back up my ipod to my computer then could restore that back up, obviously I don't want to accidnetally get rid of everything on my ipod so didn't want to try that just in case without checking.
(And yes I have disabled auto sync to device when conncected!)
Can anyone help me please? Sorry if i've overcomplicated this!

ChrisBacking up an iOS device will copy some data to a backup file within iTunes, but this excludes all media. You can also transfer iTunes Store purchases from the iDevice to iTunes but, without using a third-party tool, nothing else. As long as you do not sync the iPod with your new library, the media that's on it will remain ... for as long as it keeps functioning, is not lost, stolen, eaten by the dog, ...
You may also have an option to recover your previous library from your old laptop; as long as its hard drive isn't fried, a computer repair store or technician may be able to extract the drive, mount it in an external enclosure, and copy your data to another PC. Whatever you choose, there is no real alternative to having all your media on your computer, managed by iTunes, and regularly backed up to another device/location. -
I have a problem with my iPod touch 5th gen 64GB. When I connect my iPod to my Mac Book Pro laptop my music that I've transferred to my iPod and music playlist will appear in my iTunes my music will play with no problem. Now, when I disconnect my iPod from my computer go into my music, my music playlist and music I've downloaded into my iPod disappears. I reconnect my iPod to my computer, everything shows. However, there seems to be a bug in iOS 8 or iTunes 12.1.1 that cause this problem and I have not seen a solution -

My friend's iPod touch 5th gen is locked somehow for 41 years and she does not have a backup. Is there a way to unlock the iPod without restoring it or loosing the pictures and videos from the camera roll, the applications can be redownloaded and she had no music. Is there any known bug about ipods locking on their own because no one seemed to have tried to bypass the 4 digit code and it is locked for 26 million minutes.So thank you if anyone has any information or help for us.
Your friend may have placed the ipod next to an object that repeatedly pressed the screen. Under certain circumstances this can lead to what appears to the iTouch to be failed attempts to access the system. After repeated failed attempts, the Touch increases the waiting time required for the password and may ultimately lock in the way you describe.

Have you tried resetting the dock by removing it from power? What about resetting the iPod Touch? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
