If I was to restore my iPhone on a computer that does not have my back up on it could I later restore it to the computer that does have my back up on it?

I've been having the worst luck with my updating my iPhone 5 to the new update 7.1.1. In order to recieve the new update or use my phone at all I have to restore my phone and then use one of the previous backups on my computer. The thing is my phone will never complete the entire restore so I keep having to start over when there is 20 mins. left. I was thinking that maybe it is my computer. If I were to restore it on a different computer would I be able to use the previous back up that I have on my other computer?

Hello Chelle616,
You would want to clean restore your iPhone, then update it like it were a new iPhone and then restore it with one of your backups. Do let me know if still have doubts

Only developer's have access to iOS 6 now. Thus, if you are a developer you have have access to the developer's forum for iOS 6.
Otherwise you have a bootleg copy and are on yur own./

This still requires access either to a computer or another iOS device.

I have a MAC mini and I got an iPhone5 two days ago. When I connected the iphone to the mac mini or the first time it worked fine but now the iphone can't be synchronized using itunes I get a message saying 'the iphone cannot be synced you do not have the privilege to make changes'.

Well mine is now ok.
I noticed that my iPhoto library (on an external disk) was not allowing write access and the drive had become locked, so to test, I migrated my library back to the main drive and set iPhoto to open that as the main library. I performed a sync with iTunes and all has gone trough fine.
Makes me happpy, as my next step was to factory reset the phone.

I have been having the same trouble with my iPhone 4 freezing up more and more often and the only way to bring it back to life was to do a reset. Finally made an appointment at my local Genius Bar and, even though they couldn't reproduce the fault at the time (of course!), they swapped it out for a brand new phone which has been fine since.
Excellent customer service - just reminded me why I switched to Apple in the first place

You need to download the free Find my iPhone application from the App Store.

You probably didn't install iTunes from a user account with Administrator privileges.

Welcome to Apple Communities. The Zoom feature has changed a little in iOS5. To activate the zoom, "pinch" the screen with two fingers. You will see the screen zoom and will also now see the slider that you use to see when tapping the screen.

You can directly transfer photos and videos via WiFi between the iDevices, PCs, and Macs with an App like Photo Transfer.

Because you stated that you were looking at audiobooks that you could download to the iPod, and talking about apps only being for the iPad and iPhone and none for the iPod. So, even though the source was the iTunes store, you implied that what you were looking for needed to go on the iPod.
Look, we are not Apple here. We are just fellow users of Apple equipment. We volunteer our time here to try to help people out with issues.
The reason I needed to know what model of iPod you have was because you were asking about apps. However, unless you have an iPod Touch, there aren't any apps you can purchase from iTunes for it. And that was what I was trying to establish. Now that we have eliminated the option of apps from the discussion, we can focus on Audiobooks.
As far as Audiobooks go, you can sync any audiobook that your purchase in iTunes to your Nano.
So, as I indicated in the previous post, if you are looking for Audiobooks then go to the iTunes Store, and in the search bar in the top right-hand corner, type in "Learn Spanish Audiobooks". A list of available audiobooks to learn Spanish will display.

The music files, were they bought from your iTunes account or did someone gift them to you after buying from the iTunes account? If they are yours you can download them again if you clear or de-authorise the ipod, it has to be done by whoever gave you the ipod to do this (the registered owner). If they were bought for you on another itunes account I don't think Apple let you use them as they are copyrighted and they don't belong to you, they belong to the person who bought them. If the music files where ripped from music cd's then click and drag them to a new folder on your desktop and have the person who gave you the ipod to de-authorise and unregister it. Then you re register it and put your files back from your desktop folder in your iTunes folder and synch. Hopefully that would work. Any files which you did not buy, I would not know how get around this, best bet is to take it to you nearest Apple Store and explain that they were gifted to you and ask how you can use them. The best way to gift music files is to buy the gift tokens and give these. Hope above helps.
