IGS problem

Hi,
after running enterprise portal 6.40 system copy - (i ran the db copy process),
i had to change a few system parameters in the visual administrator that were linked to my old portal .the only parameter i couldn't find is the IGS settings and url that still points to my old portal server.when i open the portal url - http://portal:50100-> webdynpro -> webdynpro console ->webdynpro framework, in the webdynpro properties above there is the IGS url which points to my old portal server with the old port number used - how and where do i change the these igs settings.

When using business graphics, you can define the Web address (URL) of the Internet Graphics Services (IGS) from the system configuration of the Web Dynpro runtime environment.
Find detailed instruction how to change the system configuration of the Web Dynpro runtime environment in the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/43/8a1a8ece230c8ce10000000a11466f/frameset.htm">SAP Library</a>.
You have to change the parameter IGSURL.

IGS problem (java)

Hello all,
We installed an NW04s 64x Server (java stack only).
The installation process ended successfully and the IGS is green and is running on the MMC.
I want to use business graphic object in WD.   I noticed that the path http://<server>:40080/ return The page cannot be displayed.
I configured the IGS URL in the Visual Admin Tool under: configurations -> webdynpro -> sap.com -> tcwddispwda -> Propertysheet default with value: http://<server>:40080/ (as described on IGS Configuration in Visual Administrator.pdf) and restarted the engine but still I receive the same error.
Any help will be appreciated.

Check from SM59, whether IGS-RFC-DEST is working fine.
Also you can check from SE38 run BW-IGS-ADMIN/BW-IGS-CHART-TEST, if you get a graph! That means IGS is working fine.
You can also use GRAPHICS_IGS_ADMIN.
Else, logon to that server and check whether igsmux, igspw, igswd, these 3 processes are running. If these processes are running, but still IGS is not working then, you can kill igsmux and igspw (this is in case of windows system, watchdog will automatically restart them, in case of unix/linux, and you have to start manually).
If still IGS not working then check the following:
The config files must be existing on /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS**/igs/conf   gfwchart.tpl (note 596825) and xmlchart.tpl (note 531668)
Still if IGS is not working then go to /usr/sap/SID//igs/conf/igs.xml and compare the details given there with R3 i.e. SM59à TCP/IPàIGS-RFC-DEST.   Details given at both the places should be same.
There should 11 files in /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run for IGS to run
bwgis.so
gfwchart.so
igsexe.lst
igsmanifest.mf
igsmux_mt
igspw_mt
igswd_mt
imgconv.so

IF THESE FILES ARE MISSING IN /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run   then download igsexe.sar from service market place. Then have to place it in run directory. Restart SAP it should work.

IGS - Problems with SAPGISXML interpreter

Hello,
I'm trying to setup an IGS (standalone) to work with an ArcIMS server from ESRI and provide maps to a WebDynPro application.
I've noticed that, when I start the service, I get the following message in the trace file for the SAPGISXML interpreter:

I've checked both installation packages for IGS SP 7 and 8 and this file is nowhere to be seen. Can anyone provide me with the contents and location of this file? I believe the file will hold the configuration needed to connect to my ArcIMS server. Am I right?

IGS rfc not working BI 7.0

Hi All,
We have upgraded our BWD system from 3.5 to 7.0, in smicm restart j2ee server option is disabled only Icm restart option is enabled. I have checked the services both the SMTP and HTTP are active and HTTP is activated as External also.
I have checked the Http server ->display data: it's showing that ABAP and J2EE configured true but J2ee server operational = false.
If j2ee server is not working plz suggest me how to start the j2ee server.
If j2ee server is not working does IGS RFC work ? presently we are facing the problem with IGS rfc we have given the paramters according to note 844669 in instance profile still no luck .... please suggest..

We have fixed the IGS problem the RFC IGS pointing is wrong destination.
We have given the program IGS.Pjazzsap6 in the RFC destination.
I do not have any information about Pjazzsap6 exactly what does it mean?
our EP dev server which is connecting to BWD is pointing to Pjazzsap6 in IGS destination . Is Pjazzsap6 is kind of program file ? please suggest...

SAP IGS trace reset

Dear Guru's,
I have a scenario in which our root file system of SAP instance (CI) is above the threshold limit of 90%. In order to reduce it
we performed housekeeping activities and found that IGS trace file (wd_<host>.trc) to be of large size.
Could any one please let me know is there a way to reset this trace file ?
I tried with SIGS where such option is not observed and also I found that current trace level to be 1.
Please help me out with the following questions.
How to reset the trace file using SAP without restart? and What would be the default trace level is it 0?
what is the (UNIX) command to restart Integrated IGS alone so that will it get automatically renamed wd_<host>.trc.old ?
Already I tried the following command but resulted in error.
$(DIR_EXECUTABLE)/igswd_mt -mode=ALL profile pf=$(DIR_PROFILE)/<SID>_<INSTANCE>_<HOST>
Startup using config file
Configuration file could not be read!
Note: we are on NW 7.0 platform with LINUX x86 environment

Hi Viswanathan,
Actually you can restart the IGS without restarting the entire system:
If available use the stopigs script. Note that this script must be run by the same user that started the IGS. If this script is not available run "kill -INT <pid of igswd_mt>" to stop the IGS.
Use the startigs script to start the IGS. If this script is not available go to the executable directory and run: "igswd_mt -mode=profile pf=<path to the instance profile>"
You should also check SAP note 896400 to use the latest IGS patch level (always recommended). SAP note 844669 will tell you more about the IGS parameters: igs/tracelevel might be relevant for your problem.
At last, but certainly not least, SAP note 514841 can help you in many IGS problems!

IGS COnverted BMP Image upload problem in SE78

HI Friends,
I Converted the JPEG image into BMP ormat by using IGS. It is converting properly. i am able to see the BMP image. When i am trying to upload it through the SE78 i am getting the short dump.
If convert it manually, i am able to upload the image. i did not get the any difference between these two including file size, width and height.
I attached the shortdump and converted image file as an attachment. Can anyone give me inputs where i am missing the target.

Sorry for the Late Reply. I am using IGS 6.40 with solaris system.
If i am converting the image from my desktop i am getting 96DPI resolution. Where as if i am doing it from IGS i am getting 30682172 DPI resolution.
I am using SAP 4.7. Is it the latest patch level or latest IGS supported.

Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "SAPLSTXBITMAPS" had to be terminated because one of
the
statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
Error analysis
An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below
. The exception, which is assigned to the class 'CX_SY_ARITHMETIC_OVERFLOW',
was neither
caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure

The reason for the exception is:
In the current program "SAPLSTXBITMAPS", multiplying the numbers 1207959552 and

How to correct the error
The exception must either be prevented, caught within the procedure

the values generated are smaller.
If the error occurred in one of your own programs or in an SAP program

IGS Graphics Rendering Problem

Hi experts,
I have the following problem with the igs:
I have 2 applications with business graphics technicaly the same.
Both worked fine with the same igsURL, but lately one of them is showing "Graphics Rendering Problem"
Can You tell me please where else can be the problem? The SAP IGS is running, and the URL is the same for both of my apps, obvious the problem is in the app but Idon`t have an idea where to look

Series and category are not bound..
Make sure you filled the dataNode with values..

Strange problem with IGS

Dear Experts
I have a strange problem with IGS
My IGS server is running perfectly when I execute SIGS at my server system and also thrw Http link, and in GRC also
But when I tried to execute the same tcode SIGS from internet thrw another system it is blank.
Even risk terminator also blank due to that.

Explain what you meant by internet thrw another system?
IGS is integrated into the SAP kernel and make sure your kernel files are intact when compared to your server with another server you quoted.
Check the program name is IGS.<SID of the SAP instance> in the RFC dest IGS_RFC_DEST & GFW_ITS_RFC_DEST.

IGS Config Problem: ListenerRfc::Abort - Help Please!

I've been working with getting IGS installed and working and can't figure out what's wrong. the install came back successful. I've gone through and fixed, and tested, my SM59 definitions. Gone through OSS and looked at the recommended notes, etc. (all the usual stuff). Now I'm getting desperate!)
Here's the message our app gets via the www query trying to get graphs:
"IGS: Error When Calling Up IGS (ListenerRfc: unknown error)"
Here's what I've done to date:
1. re-installed it (on my BW C/I - same host - which is an ABAP instance ONLY)
2. corrected the default SM59 defintions (set them to what's spec'd in the igs.xml file) and tested them out.
3. manually started and stopped it
4. In troubleshooting the MUX - here's what I get from the log mux_"sap-bid1.trc"
[Thr 3342] Sat Dec 24 10:49:08 2005

[Thr 3342] [ListenerRfc::Cleanup] Cleaned up
[Thr 258] [ListenerRfc::DispatchRfc] returned with Abort()
Which tells me my ListenerRfc isn't "hearing" the request for graphics yes?
So how to I configure it - ListenerRfc - if that is indeed the problem?

Resolved - AFTER IGS patch 10 application, IGS was looking for gfwchart (versus gfwchart.tpl - see below)
Fixed it by renaming the file...
sap-bid1:bidadm 10> more chart_11054d91098584_5.trc
Can't find config file /usr/sap/BID/DVEBMGS00/igs/conf/gfwchart

IGS Watchdog Monitoring problem

Hello all,
I am trying to monitor the OS process IGS_Watchdog in my solution manager in Tx RZ20. But this has no result yet - it is grayed out. There are 3x 7.00 systems in this landscape and all of them aren't working. The 6.40's however are functioning perfectly.
I see that there is no IGSWD_MT running on OS level. I have also found that there is no IGS.XML file in the /conf directory (usr/sap/SID/DV*/igs/conf) Furthermore I have tried to start it with 'igswd_mt pf=<profile dir+profile>' this is giving me the following errors:

IGS Trace file growth problem

Hello,
In /usr/sap/SID/Instance/igs/log i i found the following file - wd_<SID>.trc - this trace file keeps on growing to a very large size - i would like to stop this file from growing - i already set the igs/tracelevel parameter to 0 but the file keeps on growing - how do i stop it?

have you performed a system restart after setting igs/tracelevel to 0?
what is the content of the file wd_<SID>.trc. Maybe there is a general problem when starting the IGS and an IGS patch solves the issue.

Problem with IGS

Hi people,
I have got a WAD with some Graphic and suddenly started an error about IGS. I don´t know what the reason for that...
The message error is "Internal error in communication with the IGS (partial diagrams)"
Message number is RSWWW 005.
Someone have some idea about that?

Regarding your case ..
To ensure this problem is caused by IGS, you can go to tx: RSRT, then go to IGS Test.
If it's error, yes it's caused by IGS.
Usually to overcome this problem, i asked the basis team to restart the server.
Then after that, you can check the IGS again with the above technique again.

Problems using IGS in CRM

Hi,
we want to see graphics in our CRM 2007 system (ABAP only) from values that are fetched from our ERP System (ABAP plus Java, Kernel 7.00).
We can fetch the data from the ERP System without any problems, but when we want to see the graphics, we get the error message " RFC-link to graphics server does not exist".
We did the following tests:
RFC connection and testjob for the graphic server in the CRM system are working without any problems.
RFC connection and testjob for the graphic server in the ERP system are working fine, too. Als the java part is customized and semms to be ok.
For me it is not quite clear which graphic server will be used to display the data, that one from the CRM system or from the ERP system?

Hi,
The default IGS port is 4XX80 when XX is the system number, so for system number 00 the port would be 40080.
You can also use transcation SIGS to find out the IGS port.

Go to your configuration tool ,
1.Click on Connect to SAP J2EE Engine.
2 Enter the username & password & Login
3.Go to J2E Cluster -> Configuration Adapter -> sap.com -> tcwddispwda -> propertysheetdefault
4.It will display you Change Configuration screen ,Select "IGS URL" option from that.
5.Enter the IGS URL to http://<portal server hostname><instance number>
6.Exit from visual Administrator window
7.Finally Restart your J2EE server.
This will configure your IGS server.
