ILife '08. Reinstalling but it requires os 10.4.8
Using iLife '08.pkg to reinstall but blocked by a dialog that tells me "Registrtion cannot be installed on this computer. This softwre requires Mac OS X version 10.4.9".
But this computer was running 10.4.10 when iLife '08 was originaly installed. Should reinstall be possible via iLife '08.pkg? Can't find the iLife disk. Any other way?

Great to hear about your stability. My PowerBook is the same - it never gets switched off. I got 3 batteries so I can work for hours and hours without worry, OS X 10.4.8 & CS2 work so well, and my Mac does as advertised - it just works.

I figured it out. A week ago I had downloaded a screensaver from a website I trusted and that's when my problems started. I uninstalled it but that didn't help. So, I reinstalled it then used an uninstall softtware app that cleanns more than the control panel does. Then I used a computer cleaner to be sure everything was wiped clean. And it worked. I downloded iTunes for the 7th time in 2 days and finally it worked! And I lost nothing from my account.

We had the laptop updated by way of a system upgrade with RAM and an additional SSD drive. Once reconfigured all programs were reinstalled but Iphoto is not among them. Iphoto was on the laptop when purchased so we have no additional discs. Before the laptop was updated we backed the photos up to an extrenal hard drive so we have them, but cant access them. Could I purchase Iphoto 8 stll? Would this work? We would also require an external CD drive as we no longer have the disc drive in the laptop (I think the extra new bits took over). You may have noticed I have very limited knowledge on computers so any help dispite how simple it may sound to some would help me greatly. I just want all my photos back .... Thanks inadvance... Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates
In the normal course of events, and uninstall/reinstall doesn't affect your number of authorisations on a computer. Usually, it requires a serious hardware change (like a new hard drive or motherboard), or a BIOS update, or an upgrade to a different Windows operating system to confuse your iTunes and make it think that it is now installed on a different computer before you end up using extra authorisations for the same operating system for the same computer. (So if you ever have to do things like major hardware changes, or BIOS updates on the computer, deauthorise the PC first, and then reauthorise after the change has been carried out.) -

What do you mean by 'my iTunes id is not working' ? Of you mean that it's disabled then you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on your iOS deviced by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Store on iOS 6+) and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on them.
If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

There is no way around the activation lock. You apparently decided to use the phone with someone else's ID set up for an iCloud (and find my iPhone) account before updating. Since Find My iPhone was active, updating to iOS 7 has automatically turned on the activation lock. If you do not have the Apple ID and password that were previously used, then the phone is now useless. You can't activate it without that informaion.
Talk to whoever you bought the phone from if you can. If you can't, buy a new phone. -

I have tried to open Firefox, but it just sits there and doesn't load. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall but that works for a few hours and then it goes back to not loading. I don't know what else to do to get it too load.
Right-click on your Windows Taskbar and select Start Task Manager. Look in Task Manager for processes running that are Firefox-related, such as Firefox.exe or plugin-container.exe. If you see either of those, right-click each of them and select "End process". Then try again to start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. <br /><br />
*If Firefox will start in Safe Mode, select the option you are presented with to disable your add-ons and plug-ins and restart Firefox normally. You likely have a plug-in, add-on, or a combination of two or more that is causing the problem. until yesterday i have been happily using Viber. suddenly the App wont open properly, tries to but times out and sends me back to

TextEdit is not working. I have tried repairing and I have tried reinstalling but it still says "You can't open the application TextEdit.app because it may be damaged or incomplete."

I am getting an Error when I try to open Firefox that Says Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system. This has happened several times recently. I deinstalld and reinstalled but am still getting the error. Any thoughts?
This happens to me as well. However, I have a shortcut on my desktop as well as my quick start bar. When this has happened to me, I can usually log back in without restarting, by using the shortcut on the desktop rather than the usual quick start bar.
I know this sounds weird, but it has worked for me about 80% of the time. -

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards? -

If your Apple ID was changed from your old account, you may have to change it back to your old account to be able to sign out and then change it back after that is done. Take a look at the article below for more information.

It sounds like you need to recover some missing files but do not have access to the iWork '09 disc you used to install it. If you have a Time Machine backup and know what files you need, you can use the "Restoring specific files or folders" section of the following article to restore them:
Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac
If you do not have Time Machine, you will need the disc to reinstall the software suite.
