Illustrator still crashes after removing the html5 pack
Hello,
I have been searching the forum for this issue but have only gotten lists of folders that might contain them and no links to the actual posts, I suspect the page is not rendering right or something. So forgive this if it's a repeat. I am on Mac OS X Illustrator CS5 version 15.0.0
I installed the html5 pack in Illustrator as per the instructions and after launching one and prompting for restarting it always crashes, it has completely broken.
I did save backups and stepped back out of all the manual instructions and restored the original files.
But Illustrator still crashes at start up, I cannot run it now. Here's a small part of the error I get when prompted to reopen and it crashes again.
Thread 0 Crashed: Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
0 ...ustrator.plugins.SVG Format 0x20029ff6 PluginMain + 168908
Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
Thanks for considering the question, this is bad and I appreciate it.
Hi,
From the truncated crash log, the file that is causing the crash seems to be of html5 pack only specifically svg file format.aip. You may want to double check that you placed back all the files and there are no duplicate files. Do check permissions on these files too. Also, did you install the latest 15.0.2 update?

Is it safe to always keep the PC plugged in after removing the battery pack?
As I'm not going to move my pc for some time, I have removed the battery pack and use the AC power instead.
But I would like to know whether its safe to keep it plugged into the AC 24/7? and does it consume energy or does it damage anything when the pc is switched off?

Solved!
Go to Solution.its okay, i use to do it all the time with other thinkpads when my battery died on me. It won't damage your laptop.

Where do I find the HTML5 pack download for Illustrator 15.1.0?
I am unable to find a working link to download the HTML5 pack for Illustrator 15.1.0. Links such as http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/illustrator_html5.html all redirect me to CS6 marketing. Am I misunderstanding the installation steps required for HTML5 or are all links to download the HTML5 pack currently broken?
Here are some things I have been able to figure out:
If you put an element on a layer and name it, it will export as an ID in the SVG file you can select using CSS.
If you apply a style from the graphics styles palette to a group of items, the will export as classes you can select using CSS.
Best to always work in .ai and export the SVG each time you test.
When you save as SVG, be sure to check the 'use system fonts' and the 'style elements' options.
Im still figuring out how to export text with classes or IDs.
This is ridiculous! I wish they would enable semantic graphics -
How do I cancel a Newsstand subscription when there is no auto-renew option via Settings/Manage Subscriptions? After removing the item from the Newsstand site it still shows as Active via Settings/Manage Subscriptions. The publisher tells me it is not a subscription rate that is theirs, they have no knowledge of it, I subscribed through iTunes Store. Thank you!
Hi qwerty,
Dun tink that creative customer support sucks cos I had been dealing with them in the past and I can say that their service are quite gd and fast. If you wanted a refund, I tink you need to contact the store that sells you the product. Dun tink creative will refund you though. -
Where can I download or aquire the HTML5 Pack for Illustrator CS6?
Where can I download or aquire the HTML5 Pack for Illustrator CS6? I would like to be able to save files for HTML5 and CSS. According to the "Adobe Illustrator CS6 On Demand" book, I should be able to download the HTML5 Pack from the following link: labs.adobe.com/downloads/illustrator_html5.html. That link does not work. Please help. Thanks.
If this is true the HTML5 Pack for Illustrator has been deprecated, then how is one to save Illustrator CS6 files for HTML5 and CSS now? Is there another workaround?

Adobe Media Encoder CC 7.2.0.43 is still crashing after beginning of encoding! In my case this bug exists for months now and Adobe is not able to get rid of its own programming faults! The user pays a lot of money for the license and doesn't get a functioning software! I spent days to get a solution now, but NOTHING of your suggested help works!
This is my 'support' history beginning in AUGUST (!):
Sent: Thursday, August 15, 2013 ...
Subject: Bug Report
Product: Adobe Media Encoder
Product Version: CC
Operating System : Windows 7
OS version: Service P1
Concise problem statement: Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Go to Premiere Media Export
2. Stating Media Export Parameters for ME
3. Starting ME
4. Define video title and path
5. Start Media Encoder CC rendering
6. ME states 'Preview not available'
7. Rendering aborts after about 15 sec.
8. Media Encoder CC crashes, no matter which kind of video! Every time.
9. Direct 'Export' from Premiere CC is possible with all the same parameters, but CC AME crashes!
10. Also installed Premiere CS 6 Media Encoder WORKS without any problems, but not the CC Media Encoder!!
Expected results: Media Encoder CC WORKING. This is still my expected result as a paying customer!
My steps to solve these problems (with Adobe's help) were / are:
- Cleant every suggested media cashes.
- Tried to render the sequences also without audio.
- Tried to render as one pass.
- Even if I try just to export ONE simple standard SONY PMW EX1 mp4 file which should never cause problems it chrashes, also without audio.
- Also if I clean all preferences and caches before, EVERY file type crashes, no matter if I try to export a video or a still picture.
- This is not happening in Adobe AME CS6 with the same files, but in CC!! CS6 still renders reliably with preview, but CC crashes without being able to show any preview.
- Held the Shift key down while starting AME. This should reset preferences and so on...
- Deleted suggested "7.0" directories as described in other forum posts concerning this topic.
- Logged out of my CC account.
- Deinstalled and reinstalled PPro, After Effects, InDesign, Flash, using Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. All is the newest version 7.2.
- Set GPU renderer to "Software Only". Some video cards have issues when GPU is set to "OpenCL" or "CUDA".
- Checked updates available for video driver. Latest is installed.
- Turned off "Enable Native Premiere Pro sequence import" in AME prefs.
- AMEEncodingErrorLog.txt doesn't have any content, not a single line.
NOTHING WORKED OR HELPED!

My iPhoto keeps crashing after installing the latest update, can't do anything!
My iPhoto keeps crashing after installing the latest update, can't do anything! It used to crash when importing but now I'm at the point where I open the software and after 2 seconds it crashes (nothing connected either). What to do? Can't access any photos
Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If you can create a new library and import some test photos then the problem lies with your original library.
If that's the case make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If iPhoto crashes while trying to create a new library then try this:
Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If that fails to help a reinstall of iPhoto is indicated. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,
Then install iPhoto from the disk it came on originally and apply all relavant updaters.
P.S. If you're still running Tiger, 10.4.6, then the above may not apply. If you're running a newer system you should update your profile so we have a better idea of where you're at.

Security policy from old GPO still applying after removal
We have a Server 2k3 domain with a mix of 2k8R2 (PDC) and 2k3 DCs. We are currently in the process of
replacing older 2k3 DC policies with newer policies. Policy A (AKA "Old policy") has always been a problem as it contains settings which cause errors in the event logs of the DCs it is applied to (ID 1020 "Windows cannot create
registry key CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager. (The parameter is incorrect)" and 1096 "Windows cannot access the registry policy file, \\domain.com\sysvol\domain.com\Policies\{GUID}\Machine\registry.pol. (The parameter is incorrect)").
Policy B (AKA "New policy") has been wonderful in a completely different AD Forest/Domain that we created it in but is not happy after we copied it to this Domain.
The new policy was exported as a Backup and imported by creating a new GPO on this domain and choosing "Import settings". We've previously encountered both the "hidden file" and "read only" issues with copying GPOs so we avoided
those by ensuring hidden files were copied and removing "read only" from the policy folder. The new policy was then applied to the Domain Controller OU with a higher precedence than the old policy. Neither policy is set to enforced
and the links for both were enabled, both policies are set with GPO Status "Enabled" so the new policy should have overridden the older policy settings. After several gpupdate /force and reboots, the 2k3
domain controllers are showing in RSOP a Red x on "Computer policy" with "Group policy Infrastructure" as failed with details "Group Policy Infrastructure processed successfully but failed to log resultant set of policy information".
Under general with "Display all GPOs and filtering status" Old policy is lower than new policy.
When drilling down to "User Rights Assignment" you can see that "Old Policy" is still the winning policy for all settings. When under "Administrative Templates" "New policy" is the winning policy there. So it
seems that the new policy is applying for admin template settings but not for security policies.
I then disabled the old policy which reflected under the general tab filtering status "Disabled" but the user rights assignment still showed Old policy as winning. I tried modifying the Old policy and saw that the serial number for the policy updated
in the RSOP general tab. Then I completely removed the link for the policy from the DC OU and the policy disappeared from the general tab but still showed under User Rights Assignment.
I've tried clearing the Cached group policy from the machine with:
secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose
and deleting [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft] from registry and c:\windows\system32\GroupPolicy from HD.
Usually I'll get an error from RSOP about RSOP already running until I gpupdate /force and then I'm back at square one.
I've confirmed that the issue is not replication, the machine shows no errors in FRS and I've performed non-authoritative SYSVOL restore on this server. repadmin
shows no errors.
I have not yet tried to demote/repromote the server as I'm unconvinced that will have any effect. I've seen this kind of issue on 2k3 servers where even after removing the server from the domain entirely the policies from the domain still remain in effect
to where you cannot even modify a setting from local gpedit.msc.
It seems that something is causing security policies to stick from the old policy but is allowing admin template policies to apply from the new policy. Where would these old settings be cached from, and how can I get them to go away?I've now also tried putting the machine in an OU with inheritance blocking an no policies applied.
I've tried deleting [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GroupPolicy\History] and reboot.
I've turned on all the logging (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc775423%28v=ws.10%29.aspx) and I can even see the .inf files created in c:\windows\security\templates\policy
for each GPO and the policy shows the correct settings.
NTRights (http://ss64.com/nt/ntrights.html,
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315276) allows me to set the setting manually and AccessChk shows me the current settings
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb664922.aspx but I still cannot get RSOP to come back clean. I can also see in c:\windows\security\logs that some of the security settings
I'm working show up; "remove SeDebugPrivilege." for example shows up as having been removed from the local administrator which was one of the changes I made.
I've opened up a ticket with Microsoft Support but they haven't had any fresh ideas either. My best guess at this point is that policy is actually applying but RSOP is busted. I have no idea how to reset the RSOP data however.
At this point I'm trying to run WMIDiag to see if there's an issue with WMI as several of the misc errors in the gpedit.log file come up with WMI related issues in google ("InitializeRSOP failed with 0x80070102", "GetObject for event source
of RSOP_ExtensionEventSource.id="{GUID}" failed with 0x80041002").
I should clarify that AccessChk seems to indicate that the User Rights Assignment settings ARE applying but are not showing correctly in RSOP. -

This - http://www.google.com/firefox - is the old Firefox Start Page used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox, I don't think it is being maintained by Google.
Starting with the Firefox 4 version, Firefox is using a "local" Start Page with the address of '''about:home'''. It looks similar to the old Start Page, but it isn't exactly the same. -
How do I get the HTML5 pack for Dreamweaver CS5 v11.0?
I have Dreamweaver CS5 v11.0 Build 4993 - how do I get the HTML5 pack? Tried downloading and installing v11.04, but this didn't seem to install. Any ideas?
Oh thanks but I wish it was that simple. Help -> Update in DW does not show any Dreamweaver updates. As I said above, I had downloaded a DW v11.04 installer file and tried installing this and although I got an 'update successful' message, nothing has been updated and yes, I have re-booted my laptop.
Any other suggestions please?
Thanks -
