Im trying to download the newest version of itunes but it keeps saying "The older version of apple software update cannot be removed." and wont let me finish the download, how can I fix this?
It keeps doing it over and over again, how can I fix this?
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Does it go through properly this time?

The older version of Apple Software Update Cannot be removed-WinXP
I have followed every step from the support site concerning completely removing iTunes, Quicktime, Bonjour, and Apple Software Update to no avail.
I then went and through the installation of the following tools to clean any remaining elements from my system.
installed and ran Windows Install Clean Up
Installed and ran Revo Unistaller
I went to the Apple site and downloaded a fresh copy of iTunes 10.5 and ran the install, all went well until the following message appeared.
The older version of Apple Software Update cannot be removed.
This indicated to me that I must have some lingering components on the system that the installer sees and I cannot find.
I went back through the registry and searched for any entries having to do with Apple, Bonjour, Qwicktime and removed any and all.
Still the same error. So this is where it sits,
Any additional suggestions from anyone?I have done the exact same steps as Drewfromlacenter over the past week. Also to no avail. Same message about the older version of Apple Software Update cannot be removed, and it tells me to contact my Technical Support Group. Who is that anyway?? Any suggestions where we go from here?

Trying to uninstall and download itunes keep getting message "the older version of apple software update cannot be removed contact support group. There must be a hidden file I can't find.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25 2010. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove".

Unable to re-install itunes as error message appears "The Older Version Of Apple Software Update Cannot Be Removed"

(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.) -
I recently bought a new PC and when I transferred my photos a number of them became distorted- the top half was ok but the bottom half were color shifted. Also a number of them the top and bottom don't line up. How can I fix this?
Hi, I see I haven't had any responses but these problems haven't been fixed.
I still haven't been able to transfer purchases from my phone to my comp so consequently have stopped purchasing on my phone.
I bought a couple of albums recently via itunes on my comp, and tried to tranfer them to my phone via a playlist, but the sync often crashes. One album transferred except for one song, and the other hasn't at all. What happens is that when I autofill from a playlist it often hangs for ages on the first song and then I have to quit the application altogether as nothing happens for ages. Basically, the whole Itunes software freezes.
After this I find it hasn't transferred any songs, but they do appear greyed out on my phone, which means it has transferred some basic data such as the titles, but not the song itself. When I try to repeat the process to complete the transfer Itunes tells me that it can't transfer because the songs are already on the phone, but they are not!! I can't click or remove on the greyed out items, so now I have a couple of almost full albums on my computer that I can't tranfer or install on my phone, and a whole bunch of greyed out songs on my phone that I can't play or remove!
The rest of the problems as above still stand. I downloaded the latest itunes OS updates but nothing's changed. I haven't done the very latest iphone update yet though because it says you need to make sure your stuff is backed up, and I don't want to lose the purchases I made on the phone that I can't transfer to my comp. I'm planning on uninstalling itunes completely and reinstalling but I have little faith that this will fix the issue.
Can someone please help at all?? I'm so sick of this! -
it wont go off the apple logo, putting it in recovery and DFU mode dosent change a thing, how can i fix it?
See if you missed anything here
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Trying to update my software (iPhone and iPad) it says my iTunes software needs to be updated, but it is already is. I try this over and over again. I've already reinstalled iTunes and have shut down and restarted my Mac several times. How can I fix this?
This is what worked:
"In iTunes, I signed out of the store. I exited itunes and restarted it, logged back into the store (with my apple id), then I pulled down the iTunes menu in the menu bar and selected Check for updates.
At this point it said that iTunes 11.1 was available and I'm downloading now " Quoted from a fellow user.
It fixed my problem. -
"The older version of Apple Software Update cannot be removed..."
When trying to update the Itunes software, I received an error message that indicated the application could not find a file. Since then, I've tried uninstalling all Quicktime, Itunes, and Ipod software and deleting all entries. I now receive the message "The older version of Apple Software Update cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group" when I try to reinstall Itunes. Please help.

Cannot launch LR. Photoshop crashes after few seconds. How can i fix this? Thx for help
Hi members & mvp's
I face same problem, after creating Adobe ID and after installing Creative Cloud app, the installed Ps and Lr can't be launched... Lr at all, no action, but Ps works for a few seconds. I could achieve "system info" from help menu as follows:
Adobe Photoshop Version: 2014.0.0 20140508.r.58 2014/05/08:23:59:59 x64
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Version: 6.1 Service Pack 1
System architecture: Intel CPU Family:6, Model:10, Stepping:9 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, HyperThreading
Physical processor count: 2
Logical processor count: 4
Processor speed: 1895 MHz
Built-in memory: 3990 MB
Free memory: 1477 MB
Memory available to Photoshop: 3303 MB
Memory used by Photoshop: 70 %
I guess my PC is powered enough, but I'm afraid other trial versions and registry rubbish are locking CC server communication. Do you know some tool to clean up previous installation of Adobe products?
Thanks in advance!
Jose
