IMac 10 & CS2 not compatible?
I have an iMac10,1 running with Adobe CS2, It continues to crash and run out of memory when I try to print, is there a plug in to make this work? Also, we have a G4 & G5 and want to upgrade to CS5.... Can this be done without problems?
No! It's time for an upgrade. CS2 is totally unsupported on those machines.

iPod 4,1 will not update to iOS 7. I updated my iMac to 10.9.1 (maverick). Latest Numbers version on iMac is not compatible with Numbers on iPod. Ideas? Can I go back a version with Numbers? I downloaded old version of Numbers 2.0.1 from DVD but with both versions the 2.0.1 will not open. So both versions are present but only the new version functions. I tried to drag the new version to the trash but the old version still runs error message and will not open. I did not try to restart with the new version in the trash.

I bought a new imac running Loin with Office 2011. I am the only mac in the office and the Server we use to access emails runs exchange 2003 and my IT person says the imac is not compatible with the server. The server does not want to let me access using any email software other than webmail access through our website. It looks as though 2011 is not compatible with 2003 per some searches online, but what are some options I have to gain full access again? I purchased parallels in hopes that this my help and I am able to use remote desktop connection to log on to server but can not drag and drop files I need. There is a shared drive on that Server we all use to exchange files.
The two main issues are gaining access to my email again and ability to drag and drop files from mac to pc. I hope this is enough info to get some solutions.
PS - IT person says my iMac's IP is what his server does not understand so that is why I can not login.Office 2011 is not compatbile with Exchange 2003.

iMac G5 can only be upgraded to 10.5.8.
If you have continuing use, you are among the lucky ones. I purchased many of these used from a company that shut down its American office. Many of these eventually suffered from the "bad capacitor" problem and required a motherboard replacement from Apple. I was lucky in that my local Genius bar approved these for no charge, even though Apple's extended warranty had expired.
My last one was my desktop Mac. It's power supply failed in 2010 and I paid for a replacement. In Summer 2011 when its HD failed, I decided it was time to move on and purchaed a Mac Mini, which I continue to run on Lion. -
HELP!
I have a fully functioning imac running snow leopard fine (recently upgraded to it) because of flash and java issues on browsers seemed I needed to get on to Lion or Mountain Lion so I upgraded the RAM to 2.5GB and now it will not let me upgrade maybe because my model seems to be a late 2006 and not a 2007 imac, cannot understand why it will not let me do this or provide a solution for me to upgrade what I need? Can anybody help, assist or advise?Also it says this:

IMac 27" not compatible with 30" Cinema Display - Super Buggy
I have a new iMac 27" 10.7.3, the best of everything except not solid state.
Using a 30 inch apple cinema display with it because a- I had it & b- I like the non-glare screen.
There's been so many problems that I have been keeping a log. But basically the colored wheel from **** would start to turn when clicking on an external hardrive icon, or itunes woud freeze mid song, or Photoshop would freeze when trying to open a file on an external hardrive, or the computer would freeze upon logging out or shutting down. The list is endless. I thought that the problem was with the Lacie "Rugged" firewire ext drive. But it wasn't. As soon as I disconnected the Cinema Display the IMac stopped all the shenanigans.
So my question is - is anyone sucessfully using a 30" Cinema display with an iMac 27"yes I do! this thing right: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB571Z/A
I bought the mini display port to DVI thinking that's what I needed. but I guess the two are different?? -
IMAC seems not compatible with Road Runner. Can send, not reply or send
Started having problems with RR on IMAC/Leopard. RR says it is a MAC problem. Can receive but not reply or send, so I have to go to webmail, wasting time. Is it better to use Mac Mail? Would that solve the problem?
This is a known issue with road runner e-mail and the mac mail app. Seeing as the mac mail app works just fine with any other e-mail provider, logically the issue is with road runner's e-mail service.
In my experience, Road Runner is severely lacking in Mac support. When I used to use them (I recently switched to FiOS), any time I would call support due to an outage, I was always told that "our internet doesn't work with macs" or "the problem is that you have a mac. You need to call Apple for support."
At any rate, if you want to use mac mail, I would suggest getting a new e-mail provider, such as Gmail. -
My imac is not compatible with Mountain Lion – can I still download lion
I have an iMac from 2006 and it runs Snow Leopard, I would like to use iCloud but can't download Lion, Apple appear to have taken it off the App store. Where can I find it to download?
Not tried it myself, but I've read on here that you'll need to phone the Apple Store to get a redemption code that will then allow you to buy it.

If so, your only way to download is to use the recovery method (hit keys Command + R while restarting). Can't use the app store.

New printer not compatible with my older mac
I had a Photosmart 6510 that stopped working (black ink won't print and message that print heads won't align). Couldn't seem to fix it and gave in to just purchasing a new printer. Got home from the store with my new Photosmart 6520 and was expecting to finally print the backlog of paperwork that's been building up. I couldn't find the correct driver. There are many Photosmart printers but not for the 6500 series. I figured I would then be able to download it from the provided disc but upon loading the disc I find out that my older imac is not compatible. I have OS 10.5.8. How can I get the driver so that this printer works? I didn't want to upgrade my system because I will lose the use of much of my software.
Return the 6520 and get yourself a Officejet 8600 which has the OS 10.5 driver you need.

I just updated my RAM (replaced the two 2 gig cards with two Corsair 8 gig cards) and I keep getting a crash report. I have a 21.5 Inch mid 2010 imac. I also am experiencing slow load times with Photoshop and when I try to open Final Cut it says that quartz extreme is not compatible and that I have no VRAM even though I do.

The recommendation on here, mostly, is to only buy RAM from macsales.com or crucial.com as they guarantee their modules will work and offer a no quibble lifetime guarantee.
I'd put the original RAM back in, return the Corsair chips for a refund and re-order from one of those two companies.

Photoshop CS2: "file not compatible with this version of Photoshop" error
So, I've been working with Photoshop for almost 20 years now, and lately I've been getting this error message on occasion (but not on every file) when I go to open a file I worked on just yesterday: "Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop." I just worked on it yesterday in Photoshop. The file was saved as a PSD, and when I attempt to open it through Painter IX, that program tells me that it's not a Photoshop document. Why can't I open this file anymore, and why is it giving me this error message when I don't have Norton AntiVirus installed, and my 'maximize PSD and PSB file compatibility' is set to 'always'??
Does anyone have an idea on how I can open my file? How can I get around this, and how do I prevent it from happening again?

CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.
Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support working across a network does not necessarily mean it won't work. It should.
Adobe's position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to guarantee that everything will work correctly in every network, especially given the fact that if something does
not work properly, it's probably the network's fault, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting your network.
If you can't work locally, you are on your own, and if something happens, you're on your own. If you must work from a server, make sure your network administrator is a competent professional.

FCPX 10.0.8 not compatible with my iMac
Bought an iMac 10.1 intel core 2 duo 3.06 Ghz 8 gig ram (late 2009) with Yosemite 10.10.2 from a friend.

It looks as though your graphics card may not be what TCP needs.
And, the last point: how did you attempt to "load" it? if you bought the FCPX legally (from the app store), it should be listed in your puchases section available for download (if the machine meets the specs). -
My hard drive crashed on my Imac 24" 2009, I installed a new hard drive 2TB and a SSD drive 240 GB and removed the optical drive.
What external DVD can I get to work with the IMac? The Apple super drive is not compatible.Virtually any DVD burner that can connect to your Mac will work. They start at $40 on Amazon.

I recently had to purchase a new iPhone 4S. I backed up my old 4s to my iMac and when I went to restore, I got this message "iTunes could not restore the iPhone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone that is being restored". I just purchased the iPhone 4S today so I know it's not the phone. How can I get my information back?
If it's corrupt, generally it would be lost.
However, there is third-party software out there that can retrieve some of the data, those of which however I could not recommend as I have never done so myself.
Also, if the old 4S was running a more recent software version than the current 4S, that may cause the issue however usually iTunes tells you exactly that.
Good luck in retrieving that information.
