IMac camera just stopped working

I have been trying to learn how to communicte with Yahoo Messenger and Facebook. I was learning--slowly--when the person I was talking to said that the video had disappeared, and I then noticed that the little light at the top of the screen had gone out. I suspect that I had unknowingly turned it off, but I don't know how I did that or, more importantly, how to turn it on again. How do I activate the iMac's camera? This is the first time that this has ever happened to me.

I was about to say, "no," when it appeared after I clicked on one of its buttons. I guess i just have to learn how to use Yahoo Messenger.

Ipad4 front camera just stopped working

My Ipad 4 camera has just stopped working; the rear camera works fine but when you toggle across the whole thing locks?
three weeks out of warranty; feels like an Apple 'frig' to me!

Unfortunately that doesn't work; and had already done all the guidance and also tried full resets from the settings as well.
The rear camera works fine but when you toggle to the front facing camera it blurs the previous rear facing image and then effectively locks the screen and doesn't allow you to toggle back to the rear camera or move between photo/video/square. Even when you close the application it then reboots into a front screen black image which you can only get out of by rebooting the iPad.
As I bought this from Apple as a refurbished model and it's 12 months and 3 weeks old which means from an Aplle perspective its out of warranty and any kind of support assistance. It seems the only way I can get support is to spend £25 to get someone from Appleto talk to me.
The guidance from numerous facebook contributors suggest is it would be wiser to spend the £25 pursuing Apple for a resolution on the HM Courts Website 'Money Claim Online' as under the UK Sale & Supply of Goods act its reasonable to expect it to continue to work after less than 13 months usage.

Imac 20" just stopped working - just switches off

Hi I'm running an imac 20" intel and its about a year old - I've had no problems with it until now - I installed ilife 08 last week and also added a 4 port USB extender cable but it worked ok for a few days after.....Now it has suddenly started turning itself off and I have to unplug the power cable before turning on again and even then it starts to boot and then switches off........fortunately I backed everything up the first time it did it but is it the power cable or a computer issue? I'm in Singapore...

my imac does the same thing. have you gotten any resolution to this? I have had my mac only working first 2 months after i bought it.been sitting in box in closet now for over a year. Because it just "stopped working" . turns on -get the apple screen then click -off. help if u got any.

My iPhone4s back camera just stopped working.

So my back camera randomly stopped working when i got a snapchat. the screen appears black.
It stopped working on all camera using apps, and to use the front camera i have to switch to front camera (screen remains black), close the app, and open it again and then the frontcam appears.
I've deleted snapchat just in case. i closed all apps, restarted the phone (home+sleep button) but to no avail.
Please help!

My iPod Touch, gen 4, CAMERA just stopped working. All it does is display a dark screen.

That's it. It stopped working with no apparent cause. No sync, no connection with myPC.
I tried to force it to fix itself by connecting to the PC and syncing, no good.

Thanks for the suggestion. But I don't understand it as your words seem to conflict with the words at the link.
Not to mention, it feels like a start over and that scares ,me more than it is worth.
No other way to get back my camera and my photos?
WHOOOOOPSSS!!!! I just attached my iTiuch to my PC setting off an ajutomatic SYNC and that jarred it back to working again.

I dropped my iPhone 5s (with a otter box) and the rear camera just stopped working. It also now starts to over heat near the rear camera and the battery drains very fast.

I dropped my iPhone 5s on the floor on accident. Of course I have a otter box on it, but when i picked it up, the rear camera stopped working. Also the area around the rear camera started to overheat. I was so hot that it you touch it it will burn you. The battery also started to drain very fast.

You broke it. That seems pretty obvious. A case, including the otter box, is not a magical force field that can protect your phone from the force of gravity.

Camera just stops working

I got it set up, and it worked great for a couple of hours. I reinstalled the camera after doing some power down type of trouble shooting. Then I reinstalled it and it worked great for about three hours, now nothing... I was viewing it through the web using TZO and using ip cam viewer. Why is it stopping after a couple of hours?

I have a similar problem. I have 3 WVC80N cameras in my house. Two of the three work flawlessly and I am able to access them from the internet. The third sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I went through and reconfigured several times and it works for awhile then lose access. I upgraded the firmware on the first two with no problem, but when I tried to upgrade the third the problems started. When I completed the upgrade all the router settings had changed. The SSID changed to default and several other settings changed. When I went to reconfigure the cameras none of them were recognized by the instal software. After about an hour with tech support I was able to get everything up and running. I still have only intermittent access to the third camera from the internet. Sometimes I can unplug the camera for a little while and plug it back in and have access and other times that won't work. My router is a Linksys e1000.

I was using my iPad and suddenly now it doesn't work at all, every other app is fine. It's only the ones that require the camera.

try to close it (double tap the home button and you'll see the apps that are open and hold the app till they jiggle and you see the minus sign. press the minus sign on the camera app).
Do a reset and try it

Built In iSight camera has stopped working on 27 inch iMac and 27 inch LED.

The camera's on my 27 inch i7 imac and 27 inch cinema display all of a sudden just stopped working. I checked in the system profiler, and both show that
they are connected. When I try video chat in iChat the green light comes on and connects like it's a one way video chat... when I try and switch to the display monitor's iSight the green light switches to the other monitor, but the camera is still black... I tried this with Facetime, Skype, and Photobooth, all nothing... Any insght into this would be great. I'm thinking that it could be an internal hardware problem with the machine... Logic or Motherboard....

Built-in iSight cameras
These steps are for iSight cameras that are built into a computer, such as the iMac G5 (iSight) or later, the MacBook, or MacBook Pro.
See if the issue is application-specific.
Try another application (iSight works with applications like iChat, PhotoBooth, and iMovie HD 6) to see if the iSight camera exhibits the same behavior in all applications. If it only happens in one application, try reinstalling that application.
See if the issue is user-specific.
Test your iSight camera in another user account. If the issue only occurs in one user, the issue would be isolated to user settings.
Find out if the computer recognizes the iSight
Check System Profiler (in the Utilities folder, inside the Applications folder). Under the USB header, check to see if the iSight camera is detected.
Reset SMC or PMU
Reset your computer's SMC or PMU, and then check System Profiler again. (SMC reset instructions for iMac G5 (iSight), Intel-based iMacs; PMU reset instructions for MacBook and MacBook Pro.)

Try closing the Camera/Skype app:
1. Double-click the Home button to reveal the Task Bar
2. Hold down the Camera/Skype app for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close app
4. Tap area above Task Bar to return to Home screen
If the above doesn't solve the problem, do a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider

Ok, so the likely cause is 1 or more Songs are tripping up iTunes Match. To resolve, move to Song view, switch on iCloud Status and iCloud Download fields - sort the view on iCloud Status - identify Songs with status other than Purchased, Matched or Uploaded. Temporarily remove them from the library, allow iTunes Match to complete the 3-step process. Gradually import the Songs back in - any that cause a repeat failure, place in a playlist, burn to audio CD and import as 256k AAC.
Note: iTunes Match service in UK at present is intermittant, may be worth trying from 1200 tomorrow to give Apple the chance to complete its current updates.
