Please don't tell me to adjust anything on the preferences, since I have tried all. I think it may be anoter kind of problem, maybe hardware related or anything.
I ran the Hardware repair DVD and everything was ok, but when the imac restarted the screen was very lit again, but when it went sleep, when it went awake again the screen got dimmed again. Because of that I think that the problem could be software related, but who knows. Excuse my english.
I can't see another possible answer - the longer your machine is up, the more the power supply is stressed, it protects itself by dimming the screen to lower the draw on it.

Do you have AVG Safe Search installed? It blocks use of the Enter key after typing in a search string.
Disable it by clicking the Firefox button, go to Add-ons, then Extensions. You should be able to find it in there. -

my macbook wont start the screen turn blue and stay like that for hrs. It only work when i use safe mode, i try to use disk utilities to fix it but the disk utilities keep saying error and a bunch of other stuff. I had my Imac27' for about 1 year (I bought it january 2011) , and it worked fine. But two days ago a problem started. The screen is turning black suddently, and it stay like that until I reboot it. It's not cool. The first time it happen it was hafter a very long days of video editing, I tought it was to hot. But now I just started up the Imac and 10 minutes later it happen. And now I transfer my desktop on my second screen, because the one of my Imac is constantly shutting of. What is this? Can I do something about that?
I´ve came across with the same problem and when I look out for solutions I found out that basically I had Three options
1.- Dim the brightness to the first 2 dots (that is the limit for me, anything above that shuts down again my screen)
2.- Replace an expensive part of the screen (about $900)
3.- Try with an external monitor to see if the problem was the screen or something else
What I did was to plug my flat screen to my mac with a Mini Display Port to VGA Adapter

And… Problem Solved! now Im going to buy a Monitor that gonna cost me less than half of the replacement parts, my main monitor will keep siting down if i dim it above the 2 dots but at least I will have the other to work properly

whenever i connect my ipod touch 3rd gen to itunes itunes responds really slowly and when i try and sync it it says sync in progress on my ipod screen but then is stuck with "verifying "matts ipod" at the top of itunes and stays like that for ages.. help

i have the ipod touch 4th generation and the screen is white, i was going to charge it and it turned white. I have tried to reset it but the apple logo will not show up and it will not turn on! i just got it for christmas... can you please help?
The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. I recently downloaded Mlountain Lion on my Imac. It shows that I have an update for Evernote that should be downloaded, but I cannot find out how to complete this update. It asks for me to sign in with my email address, but does not show how to do this. Please help!
I have done exactly what you said. When I check "update", a screen drops down that asks that I enter my email address to continue........but i cannot find any way to do this.
In the past, all I would do is check "update", and the update would take place. Since I upgraded to Mountain Lion, this has changed, and i do not know how to do this simple thing.......the app store shows an update is due to be updated, but i cannot find out how to do it. -

Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove apps from Recently Used list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
- Press the home button when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue. -

Nevermind, I got it working.
I ended up extracting the new vob within MPEG Streamclip, which gave me an m2v and an aiff audio. I multiplexed those two back together in FFMpegX which gave me a complete VIDEO_TS folder with BUP and IFO files I needed. -
