I just put windows 7 on my brand new iMac 27'' i7, but to my surprise I cannot connect to a wireless network, and when I go to the trouble shooting section it says-
"Windows did not detect a properlu installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver."
Help me to connect to the internet please.

I've been running the Windows 10 Technical Preview (9926) on my Surface Pro 3 successfully
since January. Unfortunately, I lost all internet connectivity today.
The problem started when I noticed the type cover wasn't working (pressing keys on the type
cover wasn't registering any typing on my screen) and my USB mouse wasn't working either. I tried removing and reattaching the type keyboard but this didn't fix the issue. I had to use the accessibility on-screen keyboard to sign into Windows (thankfully touch
was still working). Once I signed in, I still didn't have typing or cursor ability, so I decided to restart the computer.
Then it got worse. I noticed the Surface Pro 3 was stuck on "restarting" and wouldn't
actually restart. Since it wasn't responding, I held down the power button for about 10 seconds until it turned off. When I turned it back on, the type cover and mouse started working again.
Unfortunately, this is when the WIFI problems began. I had WIFI for a few seconds, and then
I lost internet. I disconnected/reconnected but there was a yellow triangle telling me there was some sort of problem. So I restarted the Surface Pro 3.
When it came back on, there were suddenly NO connections available at all. Opening the "Network
& Internet" settings page gave me the message "Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter". And here I am, without internet on my Surface Pro 3, borrowing my friend's computer so I can type this message (he is also running
Windows 10 build 9926 on his laptop and is able to connect to my WIFI with no problems, whereas my Surface Pro 3 cannot even detect any networks). I have not dropped or damaged the SP3 in any way, and there have been no storms or power outages or anything
of that sort. Any ideas what could have happened to the WIFI on my Surface Pro 3?

Hi Ethan,
Currently, there are a few compatibility issue between the current hardware and Windows 10 Technical Preview (9926 build), this is mostly related to driver compatibility issue.
I suggest you download the latest network adapter driver package to install, when it is finished, check if it appears under Device Manager.

Yoga 2 did not detect a properly installed network adapter

Woke up this morning, turned my yoga 2 on, no WiFi. So I used the troublsheeter and it told me there was no properly installed network adapter. Does that mean my wifi card is dead? Anyone else have an issue like this and find a solution (besides replacing a dead card?)
I did:
1) reinstalle drivers via usb from another machine
2) used a system restore point from a few days ago
Neither action had any effect.

Well I just set it to airplane mode and while I had no wifi it never told me that there was no network adapter cofigured.
Also, when you set it to airplane mode the wifi signal icon changes from bars to an airplane.
I think the adapter must have stopped working and then.. started working again. I can't figure out what else it could be.

HT1349 New 27 inch Thunderbolt 2nd monitor not recognized by 27inch imac running windows 7.

I have a 27 inch imac running windows 7 and just purchased a 27 inch Apple thunderbolt display to use as a second monitor. Ive connected the second monitor via a thunderbolt cable however it is not being recongnized by the imac on windows 7. The screen is just black. I've been to the Multiple monitors setup screen in the windows control panel and it does not detect the second monitor. I have boot camp version 5.05033 installed which I installed today. If I run the IOS 10 operating system the second display works OK.
The graphics card is a AMD Radeon HD 6970M card.
I notice that if I have the second monitor plugged into the thunderbolt port the imac will not start up. I have to disconnect the monitor and then the imac will boot up.
I mainly use windows (unfortunately) because I have software that won't run on a MAC so I really need this second monitor to work with Windows.
How can I get the second monitor Thunderbolt display to work on Windows 7.0 ?

Display crashed - 2008 iMac running Windows 7

I have a later 2008 iMac running Windows 7 on an Nvidia 8800gt. I've been using the Windows side only for playing games, and have been doing so for about a year now. Everything has worked fine until today running Far Cry 2. The display started to stutter, then froze up. I rebooted, and it did this again, eventually crashing out of Windows.
Long story short, when I turn the iMac on now the grey screen is covered in green pixelated lines, and it won't show anything else. Did I finally kill the graphics card, or do I have bigger issues?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hmm...looks like you've been bitten by the "weak NVIDIA chip die" issue that so far has not been confirmed in desktops.
During the NVIDIA chip scandal of 2006-2008, an investigation was launched (media source I can't recall) which found a fair number of GeForce 8/9 chips also fell to the same supplier's mistake that crippled countless notebooks.
The best you can do is to bring the unit over to your local Apple Authorized gurus (including Apple Stores) and have them check it out. You can tell them that you suspect a bad GPU. I'm not sure if you'll have to pay for it, though if you bought AppleCare, you'd still be covered today.

I've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. I have 2T imac running lion Can I re-partition and use one half as a back up disk?

Bought a new mac in November and it is refused to start up yesterday. Spoke with Apple and they said I should make sure I do regular back ups in case I l ose my hard drive?!?! I did a clean install of the Operating software but was advised to erase and install.
I have taken all my important stuff off and can reinstall my programs once I get to the next stage so what I am wondering is

You could partition the drive, I read that Time Machine will work on if you HD partition.
BUT, it will do you no good if you HD fails.
Usually, if a HD fails it's the entire drive that is dead not just a partition.
So your time machine back would be on a dead disk, useless!

Pagemaker is ancient, obsolete and unsupported. It was discontinued over 10 years ago. (Though why it is still sold is a mystery.)
If you want to run PageMaker, your best bet is to use a Win2K or WinXP PC.
Otherwise move to Indesign or look at Serif's PagePlus or Scribus.

If you can locate a 10.5.8 DVD you would simply put it in and install. However Apple hasn't sold Leopard in years, if your machine can run Snow Leopard, Apple still does sell it from the online store. Simply buy it and follow the instructions that come with it. However before you upgrade to any version of OS X make sure you have a sound backup system in place. IMHO I would recommend using either SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner with an external HD and create a bootable clone. If you don't know the link to the online store here is the one for the US store:

Why is the BIOS can't detect the HDs installed on IDE3 or IDE4 automatically?
Theoretically, BIOS is supposed to be able to automaticaly detect all HDs on the IDE interface, including RAID, isn't it?
From Windows, I can find my SCSI interface is enabled indeed, but not finding my HD on it.
Besides, if I need to make RAID0-1 by software, then I prefer to install them by Windows 2000.
Why bother to install another software?
I think the performance of RAID installed by the software is quite inferior than the one installed by the hardware.
Therefore, I don't think MSI will design some function like that.
What's more, While rebooting process, I press the CTRL+F, trying to get into the RAID BIOS, but nothing happened.

The chip for the raid controller supplies its own bios for IDE3 and IDE4. The only thing the main bios has to do with that part is enabling raid controller. During boot does the screen ask you to press CTRL+F.

I had the same problem and managed to fix it by doing the following :
First go to the control panel
Choose Add/Remove programs
Find iTunes in the list
Select "Change" and then, when it comes up with the option, "Repair"
I found that this fixed the problem for me and I was able to do the update without coming up with this error - hope it helps!
