Image Acquisition BAD Issue

Hi. Today I've experienced my first BAD bug in mac os.
I was importing some pictures from my camera, a Nikon coolpix P90, and i used the ilife 09's bundled app to do that, because within iphoto i can't rotate my pictures before acquiring them (since the original is imported as is, the correctly oriented one becomes a copy of the original and occupies useful space in my hdd).
So, i marked by mistake the option whic cleans the camera's memory after the import job, and iphoto was unable to import 92 pictures. So, my pictures are lost. I tried to find with terminal the /private/tmp folder mentioned in iphoto's error message which should have contained the "unreadable" pictures but i didn't found anything. i tried also a command to enable hidden folders to be showed by finder and i've restarted it, but as before, no trace of "half-imported" pictures. I lost them, i know. It's a bug. But i lost the last pictures of a person that is no more with us. If someone could tell me what should i do to recover them i will appreciate. sincerely. thanks.

Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
First, rotating a photo in iPhoto doesn't seem to make a complete copy of the photo, so not much additional space is occupied.
So, i marked by mistake the option whic cleans the camera's memory after the import job, and iphoto was unable to import 92 pictures. So, my pictures are lost.
Those pictures have been deleted from the camera card, but may be recoverable. Visit VersionTracker (http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx) and search for terms like "photo" and "recover". Among others I found this shareware utility:
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/20666
If your camera's memory card doesn't appear as a mounted volume on your Mac, it may be easier to recover those pictures if you put the card into a USB card reader.

  • Image acquisition not functioning after upgrading computer

    Hi all,
I've run into a bit of a snag with our LabVIEW program. This program was written by someone that no longer works at my company and his VI scripts and installer do not exist, at least no where that we can locate. We've migrated the executable as well as the LabVIEW runtime environment over to a new Windows 7 PC (the original computer was running Windows XP). The program loads as it should but when it comes to the image acquisition within the program, the camera image is garbled and basically useless.
Using NI MAX, I am able to detect the camera and I can set it to the settings from the original PC but the image is even scrambled inside NI MAX. The camera in question is an ATV Oscar F810C which is detected as such by NI MAX. I've updated the Vision runtime to the February 2014 build available on NI.com (about a 2GB download). Here are some screenshots of the original PC's settings in NI MAX:
In reality, the image in NI MAX should look like this:
On the new system with the same settings it looks like this:
And when running the program on Windows 7 it looks like this:
If I change the Video Mode to one of the lower res ones, such as the first greyscale 1024 x 768 option, the image stops being scrambled inside NI MAX and I'm able to see the image properly. However, the image acqusition inside the program still does the same thing. Without having any information on the contents of the program or access to the original files, it would appear to be some kind of driver issue since the setup works fine on the old system.
Any ideas on what may be the issue?

  • IStore Images Batch Load Issue

    Hello All,
We have been working on setting up a Batch load for product images for our iStore and have run into an issue. First off, this is more of a batch association since we are using already existing items.
The issue we are having is that we are using APPS.IBE_LOGICALCONTENT_GRP.SAVE_DELETE_LGL_CTNT API to tie the images to the items. The process runs without error, but on inspection of the iStore page, the link to the image is bad causing no image to be displayed. Going through the iStore Admin and checking the Catalog / Content everything looks fine.
If I remove the association to the content for the item, apply the change, then re-associate the content and apply, everything works fine. So, it would appear that the content is not the issue. We will be loading 1000+ image associations, so having to manually fix each one is not a very good option.
After creating the Item - Content association, is there another API or something else that needs to be run so that the image correctly shows up on the iStore?
    Thanks
    Kyle

    1. Did you try using save_logical_content API.
    2. Did you verify the table IBE_DSP_OBJ_LGL_CTNT, IBE_DSP_LGL_PHYS_MAP. If data exists, Please send me an email to [email protected]

  • Windows Image Acquisition directory disapperaed after Windows 8.1 update

Hello to everybody, I recently found out that my pc, ASUS N750JV doesn't detect the integrated webcam after updating to Windows 8.1. I looked in the Device Manager to solve the problem but the dicrectory Windows Image Acquisition simply disappeared. So I
called ASUS Tech Assistance but after installing all the relative drivers they suggested me (windows 8) without result, they told me to format C:/ and go back to Windows 8. Can you help me with some solution before formatting the all the softwares I have installed?
Can you help me? I'm rather upset about this fact. My pc is new and Windows 8.1 even newer...

    Hi,
Have you checked out that whether the webcam is fully supported in Windows 8.1\compatible with Windows 8.1? In other words, can you find the specific device driver for Windows 8.1 on the manufacture website?
Latest drivers and related webcam software are usually the cause of this kind of issue.
If you have a restore point, return the system state to a previous state at in case some recent changes mifght cause this issue, check if issue persists (you will lose some recent settings) (this solution is based on a situation that the webcam
was working for some time after you upgraded to Windows 8.1)

  • Orgchart export to image: special characters issue

    Hello,
    Using Orgchart Accelerated 2.01.
We have an issue when exporting to image.  The issue happens when org unit name or attributes contains some special characters like é or ë (common in French).  In the jpg export, these characters are being replaced by some square characters.  In the preview and in the application, everything is displaying just fine.
This doesn't happen for ppt export (pdf export still not functionning)
    Thanks,
    Laurent

    HI Laurent,
This is quite unusual. As far as I am aware the OrgChart Accelerated solution only supports English at present. However, you should raise an OSS message via Service Marketplace as I would expect it to export these characters okay.
    Many thanks,

  • Random Image PHP Scipt Issue

    I am using a
    PHP random image
script on a site in which I have 2 different images on each
templated page (random images throgh a site). The two images call
to 2 different folders with the random image script in them (to get
2 distinct images). Thus, 2 different random images. My issue is
that it seems that most browsers at some point do not call for a
new image but use what was there in the last page as it is the same
    name:
    http://ansano.com/asl/images/random/top/random_image.php
    or
    http://ansano.com/asl/images/random/bottom/random_image.php
Any idea of how to force a browser to call the PHP script? Or
how to change it so it works site wide?
    Thanks!!

I've now been sitting looking for this for a while. I don't seem to be able to get it to work.
Do I need to host to a folder first and then to the FTP server after?
I don't seen to be able to find the new page (TEST PAGE) in the folder I used to publish the site to before I went online. Tried searching for it in finder but I don't get any results on (TESTPAGEfiles).
I can see what you are talking bout I only publish to a local folder but I want to publish via the FTP option in iWeb.
Thank you very much for helping me

i have a National Instruments PCI-1409 image acquisition board that works very well

not be detected by matlab image acquisition toolbox when the command
"imaqhwinfo" was executed. I don't know why. the system is XP and

Is your matlab image acquisition toolbox DirectX based? If so, NI frame grabber will not work for your matlab image acquisition toolbox because it does not provide WDM or VFW drivers.

  • Is vision development module in labview 8.6. sufficient for real-time image acquisition and analysis using a webcam

    Hi,
I'm new to labview and trying to develop an eye-tracker using labview 8.6. It has the vision development module and i was wondering if this was sufficient for real-time image acquisition and processing or would i be needing any other software tools.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hello, certainly it is possible and sufficient for real-time tracking!
About eye tracking - if you need an example, you can find the code here:
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/blogs/kl3m3n/2013/10/08/real-time-face-and-eye-detection-in-labview-u...
The code uses OpenCV functionalities along with the LabView UI (and some other functions like overlay).
    Hope this helps a bit.

  • Keep all overlay information during image acquisition when using the base IMAQ package

I have made an X control from the IMAQ image display control that has the ability to overlay points and lines on an image but when I put my X control into my image acquisition loop the overlay information disappears  with every new image I acquire.
How can I keep the overlay in place and just update the control with the new image and not overwrite the overlay data? I have tried the merge overlay function but this does not seem to work.
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Overlays normally are erased when you acquire a new image.  You could create the overlays on a separate image, then copy the overlays to each new image before you display it.  The other option is to recreate the overlays for each new image.

  • Image acquisition using video capture card

I am developing an application for Single fiber fusion splicer...my application basically has to capture the picture from the splicer using a Video capture card...Is it possible to use IMAQ session to get the picture from the card, store it a file and display the same using labview??or is there any other suitable way instead of IMAQ???

    Cyril,
A typical image acquisition system consists of the following
    components:
Camera » Framegrabber board » Image Acquisition Software »
    Image Processing Software
The software in this application is of course LabVIEW.  The ease of integration of it with your
camera and framegrabber board is dependent on a number of variables and I
discuss that further in the rest of this post.
    Camera
It looks like you already have a camera picked out, but I could not find
any information on the VHR-1000 on the internet.  Who is the manufacturer?  Can you provide a link to information
available about it online?  NI does
not actually make cameras; we simply connect with third party
cameras.  We have a list of the
various cameras that are tested and supported by our hardware available at
    http://www.ni.com/cameras
Here are two more documents that will discuss camera options in more
    detail:

    Framegrabber
    board
The framegrabber board is what will be responsible for taking the signals
from your camera, either digital or analog, manipulating them
appropriately, and storing them in computer memory.
The framegrabber board you choose will largely depend on the camera you
choose and the interface it uses. (Interfaces are discussed in the Image
    Acquistion document mentioned earlier)
It looks like you already have a Domino Maxi framegrabber board, which
LabVIEW may or may not be able to interface with.  Could you please provide more
information and possibly a link to some info on this framegrabber board?

    Image
    Acquisition Software
The Image Acquisition software is the software responsible for bringing
images into the computer in conjunction with the framegrabber board or
    IEEE-1394 bus.  Depending on your
interface, you will need either NI-IMAQ (framegrabber) or NI-IMAQdx
    (IEEE-1394).
    Image
    Processing Software
For image processing in LabVIEW, you will need the Vision Development
Module.  It’s product page can be
    found here:
    Vision Development Module
    http://www.ni.com/vision/vdm.htm
This software will enable you to do any type of image processing that your
    application may require.
Those are the basic components of an image acquisition
system.  Hopefully you will be able to
follow those links and gain a better understanding of what exactly you need to
be able to setup the kind of system you are looking for.  This presentation provides a great deal of
general information and may be able to answer some more specific questions you
    have:
    Imaging Fundamentals
    http://www.ni.com/vision/vdm.htm
It also discusses camera and lens selection with respect to
the image size and detail that you need.
Please let us know if you have any further questions related to this.

i am using PCI-6033E IO card and i would like to send 5 volts (high logic ) to the trigger box. the trigger box will trigger the frame grabber card, that i am using for image acquisition.

    Hello;
The first thing you need to figure out is the shape of the trigger pulse needed.
In case you just need a logic high TTL pulse, you can use one of the digital lines of your DAQ device.
In case you need a pulse train (multiple trigger pulses), you will need to configure one of the general purpose counters to accomplish that task.
You can find examples in both Labview and NI-DAQ showing how to program your DAQ board to accomplish both approaches.
    Hope this helps.

  • Uses for trigger on image acquisition board.

I am new to the concept of external triggering of events. I am trying to figure out how to use the trigger on an image acquisition board (specifically - I have the pci-1411). I am wondering if I can use the trigger for things that have nothing to do with image aquisition. I don't necessarily want to acquire an image when the board receives a trigger signal. I would like to use the board to detect that trigger signal, and, when it does, execute a particular set of code. Can this be done?
Also, I am wondering if the IMAQ image acquisition boards that are capable of generating a signal through this trigger (I understand that the pci-1411 cannot generate a signal?) could be used to control some external device like a s
    mall motor for example.
    Thank you for your help.

IMAQ Generate Pulse - This function allows you to generate a pulse from the TIO chips on the board. This functionality is only supported with the 1409 and the digital boards (1422, 1424, 1428). You can only drive at most two pulses at once. Driving pulses doesn't require events, unless you are triggering the pulse off o
f the Frame Start or Frame Done.
IMAQ Trigger Read - This function allows you to read the status of External Trigger lines or RTSI lines.

  • T500 Unattended Wake from Standby - Windows Image Acquisition Service entered running state

I haven't been able to figure out what is waking up my computer while I am away..  After I standby or hibernate then come back the next day, it is always running again.
I'm running XPsp3 on my T500 in a home network environment.
Tonight I stayed up with it, and it woke up at around 1:59.  I see in the System Event Viewer this event was logged, "The Windows Image Acquisition Service entered the running state".
What is causing this service to start and wake up the computer?
Since this is imaging related, I mention one other thing that I have noticed, that occasionally on startup the built in webcam light will stay on, only going off when I start it and stop it again.
Message Edited by willy2 on 08-03-2009 11:13 PM

If you are running XP MCE (Media Center Edition), it's likely that there is a scheduled MCE task that is waking your system every night.   When I was running MCE on my former desktop, the system came out of hibernation (as well as standby) in the wee hours every morning.   As I recall disabling the ehrecvr process prevented the behavior (though this has other affects on MCE); there may be a way in XP's task scheduler to find the MCE task and change it to not run if the system is in standby (I'm a little fuzzy on that since I later switched to Vista MCE, and the task is visible there).
Searching on 'MCE wakes up computer from standby' in Google will show lots of similar complaints.
