Image larger than specified
Hey guys,
I started a new project. I set the file criteria for 4" wide 5" high, 300 resolution, CMYK.
When I save the file as a JPEG and export it for print the image is huge. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I check the settings again, after noticing they are huge, and the settings show it's still 4" wide 5" high, with 1200 pixels wide, 1500 pixels high.
What am I doing wrong? How can I avoid it on future projects, and how can I fix this project?
Thanks!!!
Sorry for confusing you guys. I've been working 80 hours this week, and I guess my cognitive ability has been impaired, LOL. I'm sending the files via JPEG to a friend, who in turn is taking them to FedEx kinko's to have them printed out. When she opens the files for print she says the come out way too large. I'll send her TIFFs as well and see if that helps.

Can I print a image larger than 4x6 directly from iPad's photo application to a HP Air Print printer without a additional app?

It depends upon the capabilities of your printer. If you have an HP printer with a photo tray then the Photo app will print to whatever size you load in to that tray.
There's some more information here:
Using AirPrint to Print Various Photo Sizes
With other printers the user is given a choice from the printer's loaded paper sizes. You can see an example of that here:
The Many Faces of the iOS Print Panel -
IDVD create disk image larger than DVD-R capacity
Here's the background:
- I made an iMovie 6 in 16:9 NTSC that is 1:32:00:06 long. I put that into iDVD 6, use the 5.0 Theme called "Wedding White", no slideshow, just a few photos and one 128k audio AAC file for menu music. Motion menu right now is about 5min45sec, but I can change that no problem.
- In iDVD 6's "Project info", left hand column shows "NTSC", "Widescreen (16:9)", "Best Quality", "Single-Layer (SL) - 4.2GB"; all correct.
Right hand column - Project Duration is 97:47min, Motion Menus is 5:46 of 7:30, Tracks 1 of 99, Menus 3 of 99; all green.
"DVD Capacity" was shown as ~3.3GB before the burning.
Here's the problem:
- When I first burned directly onto a single-layer DVD-R, an error will come on during burning or multiplexing near the end. Disc will eject, and the disc IS PLAYABLE on all DVD players. Only problem is that the movie will end (or says "Disc scratched or dirty", then crashes DVD Player on my Mac) at around 1:30:50; about 1min 11sec short. iDVD will also hang, and need to be forced quit.
- If I check that finished DVD-R with Disk Utility, it'll show:
--Capacity 4.4GB (4,706,074,624)
--Used 4.4GB (4,739,385,344)
- Same results with two decent media, a Sony 16x and a Ritex G05 8x.
- After reading a lot of posts in this discussion board, I tried two things:
1. Clean up my primary HD, which was down to <10GB free. I realized that I need double the disk space to properly burn. Now, it's at around 30GB free.
2. Instead of direct burn, I saved it as Disc Image. Results:
-- Video_TS file totally fine when played with DVD Player.
-- Disc Utility shows: Capacity 4,739,923,968 Bytes, Used 4,739,385,344 Bytes
But when I tried to burn that image onto a disc in Disk Utility, it says the media doesn't have enough room.
3. I went back to iDVD 6's "Project Info", and the "DVD Capacity" bar is now filled, yellow and says "4.2GB of 4.2GB".
[I actually tried earlier with a slightly different version with longer motion menus, and a slightly longer movie. And the DVD it tried to burn is even larger, at 4,847,159,296 Bytes. Similar results, but that DVD will end about 4 minutes short. But I didn't write down all the iDVD 6 details that time.]
SOOOOOO....
It seems to me that iDVD 6 is miscalculating its rendering or compression ratio, and is creating a final disc image larger than the capacity of a single-layer DVD-R, even though all parameters are set and displayed correctly.
For me, I'll cut down on the motion menu duration to see if that will help, as I'm right now JUST BARELY over the capacity.
Because of the early audio problem with iMovie/iDVD 6, this is the my first "finished" iDVD 6 product. Before, I have had no problem with movies that are close to the 120-minute limit, though this is the first time I use a 5.0 Theme with motion menus.
So, any ideas, any comments? Please post. Also, what else should I do besides posting here to let Apple and other users know of this problem? Thanks!

G4 Gigabit Ethernet Dual 1.6GHz Mac OS X (10.4.5) Pioneer DVR-110D, 1.12G RAMAn update:
I cut down the loop duration of the motion menus, from 5:46 to 2:50. The resulting disc image is down to 4.25GB (4,563,716,096 bytes) and will fit onto a single-layer DVD-R.
So, I finally made my first successful DVD using iDVD 6. Still don't know why this has been such an adventure compared to earlier iLife versions. -

For example if you had an attribute with data type NUMBER(2) and you mapped it to a column with data type NUMBER(5), then you could get this error on load. Note that some of the attributes may not be visible in AWM. The offending SQL statement should be in the OUTPUT column of the CUBE_BUILD_LOG, but you may be able to fix this by just describing the view associated with the dimension. Dump with ORA-01438: value larger than specified prec
Hello All,
I am getting a dump in production with the above said error and the ST22 gives me further analysis that
"If the error occurred in Open SQL, there is probably an inconsistency
between the NAMETAB and the ABAP/4 Dictionary.
Compare the length specifications of the fields in the NAMETAB with
those in the ABAP/4 Dictionary and contact someone who is able to
perform a consistency check and eliminate the problem.
In most cases, this person will be your SAP consultant.
Please make a note of the actions and input which caused the error.
Please make a note of the actions and input which caused the error.
To resolve the problem, contact your
SAP system administrator.
Choose "Print" for a hard coopy of the termination message. You can
display and adminster short dump messages using Transaction ST22.
Error analysis
The problem has arisen because, within the database interface,
one of the data buffers made available for the INSERT (UPDATE)
is longer than the maximum defined in the database.
On the other hand, it may be that the length in the NAMETAB
does not match the maximum length defined in the database.
(In this case, the length in the NAMETAB is longer.) "
First time it gave me one record so I dropped that record and again executed the program but next time it gave me other record.
So I am not sure it is related to data error or database error. I can not debug the program in production and dev also as it is difficult to repeat the data in dev.
Any clues on this ?
Thanks in advance
SameerLooks like a precision error:
ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision allowed for this column
Cause: When inserting or updating records, a numeric value was entered that exceeded the precision defined for the column.
Action: Enter a value that complies with the numeric column's precision, or use the MODIFY option with the ALTER TABLE command to expand the precision.

Strange ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision...error
When i issue a query like
SELECT * FROM shp_dtls WHERE shp_locn='AL';
i get the error
ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision allowed for this columnWhy do i get an error like this for a SELECT query. Isn't this an INSERT related error?Normally this error happens on INSERT or UPDATE statement. There are 2 possibilities I think for it to happen on SELECT:
1) your FGA policy defined on select for this table that inserts data into wrong column (you should also be getting the violating procedure name in your error message);
2) wrong data has been inserted into table using OCI (in which case Oracle does not verify data correctness) or corrupted export file was impored. -

CDC Failed with Error ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision
Hi,
I have created Asynchronous Distributed Change Data Capture Set-up as per the Guildines from Oracle.
Now My Change Set has become Invalid with error: ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision allowed for this column.
I Compared Change Table Structures with Source Table on Source Database and the structure is matching.
Now I am trying to Run below script:
Begin
dbms_cdc_publish.alter_change_set (Change_Set_name =><<Change Set Name>>,
recover_after_error => 'Y'
End;
I am getting the below error:
ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision allowed for this column
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_APPLY_ERROR", line 147
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_APPLY_ERROR", line 301

ORA-06512: at line 1
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH", line 580
ORA-06512: at line 2
Still the error is existing, I couldn't find any issues with Change Table structure as it is in Line with Source Table Structure.
Can anyone please help me on this.

Source Database details:
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi
TNS for HPUX: Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
Also Can anyone let me know if it is possible to run CDC Set-up without DBA Privileges. i,e once the CDC Set-up is done, if we revoke the DBA Privilege will the Capture work properly. I know that for creating Change Table, Set and Source we require DBA Access. But once the set-up is done, do we really require DBA Privileges?
Thanks,

Edited by: user8254952 on 09-Mar-2010 06:00Hi Shashi,
As CDC is built on top of Oracle streams framework, for better responses you can post this ques under {forum:id=70} category.
"ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision allowed for this column" is usually encountered for NUMBER datatype columns. At what level did you check the datatypes? Please confirm if the precision(for NUMBER datatype) are also similar.
Please attach output for the following queries:
select error_message from dba_capture;
select error_number, error_message from dba_apply_error;Please re-validate the data types and then run the same API with remove_ddl = 'Y' option, like this:
exec DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH.ALTER_CHANGE_SET(change_set_name=>'CHANGE_SET_NAME' , recover_after_error=>'Y' , remove_ddl=>'Y');
Hope it helps!

MDM Not Able To Load Linux Kernel Images Larger Than 32MB?
Hi All,
I've been building linux initramfs images for use with a Kintex7 (KC705) running a MicroBlaze processor and have been running into an issue with loading the images using the MicroBlaze Debug Module. It seems the system won’t boot if the image is larger than 32 MB. Unfortunately, my use case requires all application code to be contained in the kernel image and I won't have local non-volatile to boot from.
Some key factors:
Petalinux 2014.4
FPGA image built using Vivado 2014.4 on Windows 7
1GB RAM on KC705
Loading images using TCL script on XMD on Windows 7
As an example, I built an image that would fit within the 32 byte "limit" and booted it with no issues:
Image Type: MicroBlaze Linux Kernel Image (uncompressed)

I've done a bunch of research on initramfs and haven't seen anything that points to a size limit (except as it relates to RAM size). Anyone have an idea what's going on?
Thanks!

When the system fails to boot, there is no error message displayed either on the XMD window or the linux console output. The console remains blank.
I have been able to add random files to the ramdisk that do not push the size over the 32MB boundary and the system successfully boots. -

Photoshop is consistently printing my images slightly larger than specified?
Photoshop CS6 on an iMac with OS 10.9.5 printing to an Epson 7900.
Epson say that its not a printer issue. Anyone know where I should be looking to resolve this issue?"Scale to fit media" should not be checked.
If your printer is printing properly on apps outside Photoshop, usually a reset of Preferences will fix it.
Hold down cmd-opt-shift and start Photoshop, agree to the reset. -
IDVD creating disk image larger than it should be.
I exported an iMovie to iDVD and set up the dvd using one of the supplied themes. I checked the disk info to make sure it will fit the DVD-R. The program says my file should be about 3.9 Gigs. The disk burn was incomplete so I tired to create a disk image instead. The size of the disk image is 4.57 gigs.
The incomplete dvd would play all the way until the last few minutes of the movie and then crash the dvd player.
The last time this happened to me I had to reinstall the OS and lost the project I was working on as a result. Does anyone have a less drastic solution?
I have about 60 gigs of free space on my hard drive still.
Thank youThe movie was just under two hours long. It is about the length that I used to make all my previous movies. I know that if I reinstall the OS and software that it will correctly create the disk image. I have already tried reinstalling the iDVD software and the result is the same problem. I also know that the file should fit the disk because when I look at the project info it shows that the project size is 3.8 gigs. It is just that when I do create the disk image the final file size of the image is around 4.57 gigs. (The project info still shows 3.8 gigs after creating the image.)
It would take several days of backing up and reinstalling software and I would like to avoid that if possible as I would also lose a lot of my preference settings. One other symptom, if I tried to burn data disks from the finder, I have to restart between burns or the second disk will fail to burn. -
