Image upload from Elements 11 Organizer

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can tell me how to upload images from an album in Elements 11 Organizer to an online print service? I am using a Mac OSX 10.9.2.

That's because Folders created in Bridge are folders at the operating system level. The equivalent in Organizer would be Folder you create in the Folder Hierarchy view.
Organizer Albums are closer in concept to Bridge Collections rather than folders, except in Organizer you don't need to use a search to create the Album.

Thanks for that Damead, I agree with you that Organiser is real pain (there is a total lack of intuitiveness if that is the correct word).
For my own work I use 'Lightroom' for around 90% of the time, only going into PSE10 for the 10% difficult bits the Lightroom can't handle.
I only needed to sort out the JPEG file opening method within PSE10 for some freinds in a small Photo Group that I run in Woodhall Spa, UK. 50% of the 12 members are beginners & a number of them do not have Raw capability on their Camera's, but now they can get their JPEG's into Camera Raw within PSE10 they have the same simple tabular form of adjustment sliders (not as many as in Lightroom of cause) but it gets over the labourious problem of going thru the PSE10's individual tool selection process each and every time since we are trying to get everyone in the Group working with individual Tools rather than the 'Auto' functions. We do this so that they learn what they are doing rather than staying 'dumb&happy' within Auto all the time & they also learn how to get more detailed control for each photo.
Ref. your comments on file handling/usage, I agree with your comments. Its far and away much more preferable to set up a file structure in 'Finder" (or in 'Explorer' if still using Windows) that you understand so you always know how to find the files. Also, I also never ever use the Camera Auto Load programme but physically 'drag & drop' photo files direct from the 'card' into the file system so I always know thier place (ie: they go into the location I want, not that which the Auto Loader wants).
As regards your comment about 'Lightroom', I don't have any problems at all since I just imported the whole of my photo file structure into the Lightroom Library Catalouge and then it automatically shows up on the LHS of the screen, still in that format, so you can search it direct within Lightroom and display all of the photo's in variuos arrangements and sizes; everything is as easy to find as it is in 'Finder' plus of cause you have all the 'Tagging' possibilities to use as well. As you add more new files into the 'Finder' structure, all you need to do in Lightroom is reimport, starting 1 level up from the new files and Lightroom will find the new files that need loading (ignoring the older ones already in the Library at that or lower levels) then 1 click and its done.
Your comments about getting others to follow a set file structure is very pertinant and also applies to evrything else that one ever does apart from just photo work; the times I have had to help others find info/files etc on their PC's because they don' know the location of anything is too many to contemplate.

Printing from Elements 9 Organizer causes PSE to crash

Whenever I try to print a picturem from Elements 9 Organizer, a window pops open that says: "Elements 9 Organizer has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." The window contains no error code or further information. My printer is an HP PSC 2170, and the most up-to-date driver already comes with Windows 7, which is my operating system. (I still have Elements 7 on my machine, and it can print without difficulty.) Does anyone have an idea how to fix this major problem with Elements 9?

We have the same issue, running Elements 9 and Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, and have tried a complete uninstall of Elements, reboot, re-install. We had added a new printer recently, so we also tried removing the printer and restarting. I've tried updating Organizer to 9.0.3, but the problem still occurs.
We can print any picture from edit mode, but if we select a picture or pictures and try to print from organizer, it crashes every time.
Anyone have ideas for further troubleshooting?

Import images into Photoshop Elements Photo Organizer from Safari

Hi,
I recently bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 for Mac. Safari is my default browser. I wonder, has anyone seen an extension or add-on to Apple Safari 5.0 that creates a context dialog that would allow one to import an image from a web page into the Adobe Elements 9 Photo Organizer. Currently, the process of importing into Adobe Photoshop Elements Photo Organizer is both elaborate and tedious. Alternatively, am I simply unaware of some simple drag and drop method to import an image from the web into Photoshop Elements 9 Photo Organizer?

Why duplicate images uploaded from iPhoto to Elements?

Uploading images from iPhoto to PS Elements 13 created duplicates of every image. I have a MAC with Maverick OS. Is this a problem for others? How does one organize in Elements with twice the number of images to handle? Very frustrating!!

iPhoto is slated to be discontinued in January 2015. I didn't mention that because of this, Elements will be my photo organizing software of choice, thus the upload.
Specifically, the issue I am having is that when uploading my 'unique' images from iPhoto to Elements, Elements duplicated each image, so now I have twice the number of images than were actually in iPhoto. There is no change in metadata, these are true duplicate images.
This seems to be an issue with Elements, and I wondered if anyone else has noticed the same problem?

Photos not uploading into Elements 9 Organizer, hourglass icon vs. photo?

When uploading photos (jpeg) today into elements organizer 9, rather than photos appearing they come up with hour glass icon in each square. When I double click on the icon the photo appears. Any remedy suggestions will be appreciated.

Just a thought, you might try resetting the Organizer preferences.
The photos are deleted from my CF card when using a card reader.

Adobe Forms in ABAP Image upload from a local drive

Can anybody suggest me the procedure, how to upload the image field dynamically of an employee which is existing in PA30 to SAP interactive forms (SFP). I have gone through many forums but could not able to find any right solution on it.. and hence my development is required to design the layout and call this not through WDP but using ABAP report SE38 in order to generate the employee CV, the programming logic completed till downlaoding the employee photo to local drive from PA30 and I need the same to upload the picture which is downloaded earlier by my driver program into adobe form. Can anyboby help me on this mentioned issue will be appreciated.

Not all images uploading from camera..

When I upload images from my camera it will load some of them and then it acts like upload is complete. I have to hit upload several times to get a session uploaded that was shot all at the same time, anyone know what may cause this ? I didnt realize it did this and it just cost me a session that I have to reshoot now bc I thought all the images were uploaded but they werent.

Hi Michael sorry for your troubles - a really irritating issue to have!
This is usually a hardware issue.
You don't mention how you are downloading images.
In general most folks would strongly recommend not downloading straight from the camera because of the number of issues that occur.
If you are using a card-reader then it is likely that it is still a hardware issue.
It may be the card reader, the USB cable, or the USB controller (rarer but still possible).
If there is more to this let us know!

Editing EXIF with external editor from Elements 10 Organizer

Hello there.
I'm experiencing a kind problem.
I'm editing exif gps coord with external program.
Organizer config set to "Edit with GPSView", where GPSView is external GPS coords setter.
I'm setting the coords, the edited file copies itself, so, I have 2 files - with old GPS, and new GPS.
Then, I'm making "Flatten version set" - and then I have 1 file, with new GPS.
After that, when I'm tryin to edit same file's GPS once again, Elements turning GPS values to old values, which were before any exif edit.
What am I doing wrong?
I have a bunch of files to edit GPS, and its really breaking me - it is unable to edit even GPS with these "Elements".
Please, help.

Just a suggestion as I am not using GPS tagging : did you try the option to 'write metadata to file' (shortcut Ctrl W) after flattening the version set ? Does it make any difference?

Are images uploaded from desktop to iPhoto duplicated?

I just used Migration Assistant to move data from Windows laptop to my new iMac... The photos that were saved to my desktop were imported into iPhoto. Does this duplicate the images? Can I delete the desktop files?

If you're using iPhoto in the default, managed library mode, then yes.
Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

Can not sign on to Revel from Elements 12 Organizer.

I own Elements 12. I get a message "There was an error contacting the server. Check your internet connection and try again" when I attempt to sign on. I can sign on to Revel on the internet and from my mobile devices. I have tried changing the password. My calendar on my pc is correct.

Multiple Image Uploader renaming thumbnails

I am having a blast with the ADDT! For a php noob such as myself this stuff is great, just what I have been looking for.
If only I knew how to stop ADDT's multiple image uploader FROM RENAMING THE UPLOADED THUMBNAILS.
Like this: myImage.jpg is renamed to myImage_135x150.jpg
I can deal with it stashing the thumbnail in a separate folder, but the name of the uploaded image and the thumbnail must remain the same!
I did manage to figure out where to change the thumbnails dimensions, but not the name itself...

ADDT´s default thumbnail renaming rule is defined in the file "includes/tng/triggers/tNG_DynamicThumbnail.class.php" -- at the end there´s a function named "Execute", and in here you´ll find the following:
a) $thumbnailName = path_info['filename'].'_'.$width.'x'.$height.'_w_'.$hash.(isset($path_info['extension'])? '.'.$path_info['extension']:'');
this needs to be changed to:
$thumbnailName = path_info['filename'].$hash.(isset($path_info['extension'])?'.'.$path_info['extension']:' ');
b) tNG_deleteThumbnails($thumbnailFolder, $path_info['filename'].'_'.$width.'x'.$height, $hash);
this need to be changed to:
tNG_deleteThumbnails($thumbnailFolder, $path_info['filename'], $hash);
As always, please backup the original file before making such changes ;-)

It's important to keep in mind that the picture files are NOT stored in the Organizer. They are not stored in Lightroom or Bridge either...
The organizer is based on a catalog which stores the pictures properties, mainly the location of the pictures on your drive(s). It's the same idea of catalogs in Lightroom, and the nice thing is that Lightroom can convert organizer catalogs to its own format. The most obvious way for you will be to use Lightroom.
Bridge is a file browser which is a different way than to use catalogs.
