Image white c3,m2,y2,k0

Doing some head scratching here... I've a whole catalogue full of graphite drawings that I've meticuously corrected to the same consistent cmyk background. I'm going with a c-3, m-2, y-2, k-0. If I make a swatch of this with photoshop and export a pdf/x out of ID5 ,the screens read dead on (3,2,2,0) but if I brush just one 95% black line say 4px wide (representing a drawing) down the middle of that same PS swatch, then just about every pdf setting combo yields a c-4,m-2,y-2,k-0 rendering. Am I missing something simple?

I hear you, but I've a huge project and much money on the line. If the background on run gains a blue cast, unacceptable to my client, I can argue effectively at 3,2,2 -- but they sort of have me at 4,2,2 don't they. A 3,3,3 renders just find with a black line down the middle, but as you know a 3,3,3 will print pink! Just a weird thing not being able to control the background dot. --Dan

  • Uploading images whit thumbnail to MDM repository using Java API

    Hello,
    can someone tell me how to upload images whit thumbnail to MDM repository using Java API?
    i get following message using setHasThumbnail(true):

    You can upload images to MDM via the API, but the only way to create thumbnails is via the MDM Data Manager application which uses some embedded libraries to do the work.

  • Preview Printing Negative Images - White text and lines on black background

    Desperate for help here. After upgrading to Tiger, I have more instances when Preview displays a PDF correctly but prints certain pages with images, such as graphs and technical figures, as negatives, that is, white text and line art on a black background. Is there any way I can fix this? Any advice would be most appreciated.

    I was trying to scan from a Lexmark X5250 into Preview so that I could fax a signed document to a company.
    When I chose "To be faxed", with Preview TIFF program under 10.4.6 (combo) (PPC), the document appeares in Preview as a white-on-black (negative) in Preview's open window.
    A work-around seems to be that one selects "To be printed", then prints from Preview, then selects (in the lower-left corner drop-down-menu) "Fax PDF". (Unfortunately, the modem still won't hang-up properly -- is this because of my ADSL filter on the fax phone-line? ).

  • Fax printing negative image (White on Black)

    When a receive a fax and open it up in Acrobat everything looks normal. When I print the fax it reverses the image and prints white with a black background. I did find one work around but this is a pain. If a do a print preview and print from there is works but the quality degrades slightly.
    Any ideas??

  • When I print my photoshop images white areas print grey

    Using my Epson Photo1500W images created in photoshop print grey in areas that should be White. There is no problem when I print images I have created in Illustrator or when I when I transfer the photoshop image into Illustrator. Any clues ? thanks Mikki

    Did this problem recently start, or has it always been this way? Maybe a Preferences reset would fix it.
    Windows - CTRL-SHIFT-ALT immediately after you double-click the PS icon.
    Macintosh - CMD-SHIFT-OPTION immediately after you double-click the PS icon.
    Look for the "Delete Photoshop Settings File" dialog and click "Yes".
    If that is not the case:
    Check your Printer settings, they are independent of Illustrator.
    Look at the Print Dialog, see what Color management section looks like.
    You  have a choice to let the Printer or Photoshop manage colors. See what works best.

  • Re-imaging White Macbook

    Hello,
    I have a white Macbook from late 2007.  I've used the notebook quite a bit and with its age, it's starting to get a bit slow.  I've always taken great care of the machine running cocktail and doing weekly time machine backups.  I know it will never be as good as new, however, would it be worth re-imaging the HD and then restoring the computer from a time machine back up?  Currently, I'm running Snow Leopard.  Should I upgrade to Lion or Mountain Lion?
    I'll be upagrading to a new Macbook Pro sometime this spring, but in the mean time I'd like to get my current Macbook in as best shape as possible.  Any recoomendations and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

    Hello there deeluxx3,
    You can use the Migration Assistant that is in the Applications > Utilities folder on your computer.
    Here is a detailed article about how to use the migration assistant, named How to use Migration Assistant to transfer files from another Mac found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4889.
    You want to use the section in the article labeled Time Machine or other disk Migration.

    Your slices appear to be a little bit off.
    Use Photoshop for images only.  Use DW to build your web pages.  Exporting HTML from graphics apps is not going to produce good cross-browser results.  It's really only for quick prototypes; not real web sites.

  • Problem with TLF - floating an inline image

    I am running the latest version of Flash Builder 4 (4.0.1).  The problem that I having:

    A bit of MXML code:
        <s:Group id="myGroup" width="100%" height="100%">
            <s:RichEditableText id="myRichText" lineBreak="toFit">
            </s:RichEditableText>
            <!--- Do not set the height of the RichEditableText - since it seems to prevent the appearance of the vertical scroll bars -->
        </s:Group>
    And some Actionscript that adds components:
                scroller = new SxScroller();
                scroller.dx = dxScroller;
                scroller.dy = dyScroller;
                scroller.addEventListener(FlexEvent.CREATION_COMPLETE,scrollerEvent);
                scroller.addEventListener(FlexEvent.UPDATE_COMPLETE,scrollerEvent);
                richText = scroller.richText;

                richText.selectable = true; // required
                richText.width = dxRichText;
    And finally the import of a TextFlow string:
    richText.textFlow = TextFlowUtil.importFromString(textFlowString, WhiteSpaceCollapse.PRESERVE);

    On the TextFlow forum I found the answer:
    Use Flash Builder Hero, since it support TLF 2.0 out-of-the-box.  The InlineGraphics support several valuable attributes, including float="left" etc.
    Beautiful.

  • Can't get white color to stay white between color profiles

    Hello,
    I installed Photoshop CS4 and am using a Samsung flat panel monitor. I do web design and print design. Here is the problem:
    Web design:
    Color profile is set to Monitor Color
    Proof color is set to Monito RGB
    Proof Colors is checked
    When I save image through Save For Web, it looks fine in the preview box but in some browsers it has blue tint (even the white color now looks blue)
    I tried embedding the monitor coor profile into the exported JPEG and tried converting to sRGB and it always is a problem
    Print design:
    When I make a new CMYK document 300dpi the white now has a yellow tint.
    I tried to paint the entire image white (and the foreground color is clearly white) then go with the eyedropper it says its fff6db (yellowish)
    Proof Color: working CMYK
    CMYK Color: US Web Coated (SWOP) v2
    Color Managment Policies are all off
    What I want is an explanation of how I can make sure that the colors are correct on my screen such that what I see on the monitor is exactly what everyone will see on their browsers. And that there are no color shifts. I had version 6 at work and its fine, when I converted from RGB to CMYK the colors just got a little washed out but the whites remained white.
    -Max

    Web design - you're ignoring the display profile, twice.  What you see on your system is exactly what you'll see in the browsers. But nobody else will ever see it exactly the same way because you refer everything to your specific display.
    Print design - you're actually using the display profile, and that profile is wrong.  You're seeing a yellow tint because your monitor profile claims that the white is bluer than it really is, and Photoshop is correcting for that.  To get rid of the tint, you need a display profile that correctly describes your display.

  • RichEditableText with embedded images does not handle mouse events reliably

    I'm using Flash Builder "Burrito".  downloaded a couple of weeks ago.  Flash Player 10.1.85.3 debug version.
    I have the following MXML object:
    <s:Scroller
    width="100%" height="100%"
    xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
    xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
    xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
    skinClass="components.skins.SxScrollerSkin"
    >
    <s:Group id="myGroup" width="100%" height="100%">
    <s:RichEditableText id="myRichText" >
    </s:RichEditableText>
    <!--- Do not set the height of the RichEditableText - since it seems to prevent the appearance of the vertical scroll bars -->
    </s:Group>
    </s:Scroller>
    With the following Actionscript to initialize, etc.
                textContainer = new SxBorderContainer(name);
                textContainer.dx = dxAvailable;
                textContainer.dy = dyAvailable;
    scroller = new SxScroller();
    scroller.move(dxPadding,dyPadding);
    scroller.dx = dxAvailable
    scroller.dy = dyAvailable;
    textContainer.addElement(scroller);
    var richText:RichEditableText;
    richText = scroller.richText;
    richText.toolTip = toolTip;
    richText.enabled = true; // required for mouse click capture
    richText.selectable = true; // required for mouse click capture
    richText.width = dxAvailable
         var textFlow:TextFlow = TextFlowUtil.importFromString(textFlowString, WhiteSpaceCollapse.PRESERVE);
          richText.textFlow = textFlow;
    And the following code to catch events:
                    richText.addEventListener(FlowElementMouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN,userMouseEvent);
                    richText.addEventListener(FlowElementMouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,userMouseEvent);
                    richText.addEventListener(FlowElementMouseEvent.CLICK,userMouseEvent);
    Here's the problem.   If I have embedded images in the TextFlow that is imported into the richText, I only catch "some" mouse clicks.  It's hard to know, but it seems that only mouse clicks into white space (between paragraphs) are caught.  Mouse up and down are caught, but not "click".  Very puzzling.
    TextFlow like this:
        <TextFlow>
          <div color="#442222" fontFamily="Times New Roman" fontSize="20" paragraphSpaceAfter="15" textIndent="15">
            <p>
              <span>
                Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do:  once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, `and what is the use of a book,' thought Alice `without pictures or conversation?'
              </span>
            </p>
            <p>
                  <span>So she was considering in her own mind</span>
                  <img source="assets/library/alice/images/White Rabbit.png" height="auto" width="auto" float="left" />
                   <span> (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her.</span>
            </p>
    If there are no embedded imags, I get all clicks exactly.
    Is it a bug?  Am I missing something?
    Thanks,
    Oz

    Thanks for the answer. First I need clicks anywhere in the RichEditableText (no links or images). I use the selection manager to find the exact word that was clicked.
    The next step would be to capture clicks on links and images.
    I have tried using MouseEvent and had the same result (or worse) as FlowElementMouseEvent.  I will go back and retest with your suggestion.
    Oz
    Result of retest:
    I catch clicks only over images embedded in the TextFlow.  I catch only mouse up/down over text - both MouseEvent and FlowElementMouseEvent.
    Puzzling.  Where are the clicks going?
