Images are damaged after importing

Hi,
I imported a set of images last night after an event. All the images looks great in the camera but after importing it some images looks damages, looks like scratches and colour faded or half of the image is white or black or blue...
Have you experienced it before? Any advice? Do you think it might be the issue with the momory card? I use UDMA 7 Delkin Device memory card for the first time.
Please help.
Thanks,
Kamal Mostofi

Some hardware malfunction between the camera and the computer is causing the image to be corrupted.
This could be anywhere, camera card, card reader or USB Cable/USB port, hard disk or even memory.
Best you should try importing using different hardware, and if possible try importing on a different computer.

"right click on your device in my computer" in itunes?
i use the default automated import: when i plugin my iphone into my macbook air, it opens iphoto and imports the images.

  • My new iPad photos are blurry after import

After I import new photos into my new iPad 3, all the photos are low res, blurry, and somewhat pixelated. All the images are coming from iPhoto and a very very high resolution JPEGs. Is there a setting off somewhere? Thank you!

Two options - Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe!
If this does not sort it deselect the photos and do a sync, then reselect them and do another sync!

  • NEF images become dull after import

After importing images from a Nikon Df using the NEF raw format, and upon viewing them for the first time in the LR library, they briefly appear as crisp as they were on the camera, but an instant later, they are resized by a small amount and appear a notch dull, i.e. of less contrast and saturation, than the original. I can reconstruct the original impression with some effort, but of course that's not the purpose of using LR. It appears as if LR automatically applies some import settings that are unknown to me. Is someone here wiser?

What you’re seeing is normal.  The brief initial view is the camera-embedded JPG preview that is done with Nikon rendering by the camera.  After that the default Adobe rendering is applied and it can look dull by comparison, depending on the lighting.
Adobe has no way of interpreting the camera settings because they are proprietary to Nikon.  The closest you can come, easily, is to use one of the Camera-XXXX profiles (i.e. Camera Standard, Camera Portrait) in the Camera Calibration section which Adobe makes to somewhat simulate the various picture modes on the camera, instead of using the default Adobe Standard
Some of the camera settings in your camera, like Auto-D-Lighting, correct for bad exposure.  LR does have an Auto tone button that might do something conceptually similar but will unlily yield the same result.  f you are going to be developing Nikon raw files in Adobe products, it’s best to turn those auto-fix settings like ADL off so avoid confusion.
You can set new customized defaults by pressing the Alt key in LR-Develop and clicking Set Default… and it’ll save whatever the current photo’s current settings are as the new defaults.
You can also apply a Develop Preset to each import batch on an ad hoc basis to make all photos of one export have different settings than the default.

  • All of a sudden my RAW (Nikon D7100) files are dark after importing

Could anyone tell me why all of a sudden my NEF files from my Nikon D7100 raw files turn dark after importing them to Lightroom 4.4? I did use Dactive lighting setting in camera...is this why? Is there anyway to stop this from happening? THanks!

I would turn off the D-active lighting
    I can't argue with that.

That would be truer if stated thusly:
Having ADL on will make for darker initial rendering in Lightroom and reveal non-optimal ADL setting as under-exposed images.
However (and contrary to popular belief), that does NOT mean there is no value using ADL in conjunction with Lightroom for post-processing - quite the contrary: there are ALL the same benefits as when using ADL in conjunction with NX2, *except* that the compensations are applied automatically in NX2, and non-optimal setting manifests as a slight reduction in shadow image quality and not as under-exposed images when using NX2 instead of Lightroom for post-processing.

  • How do i delete images from camera after importing

how do i delete images from camera, ipad, iphone after importing the files into aperture3?

Image capture will allow you to delete from the device after import, but I believe it is by design that Aperture does not do this as it is recommended (in the case of a camera) to use a device's own delete function rather than a 3rd party like Aperture. This also allows time for a proper backup before everything is erased from the device?

  • OSX Lion jpeg 'preview' images are blurry after altering them

When i edit a photograph in photoshop (cs3/cs4 etc, it doesnt matter which version) the preview of that image goes blurry after its saved. The image is the full res still and hasnt lost any quality but when i have the icons that are of a large size they appear really blurry and 'low-res'
I know its a small gripe but it makes things difficult as a photographer when im trying to organise images that perhaps look similar or i want to see as a whole set.

Hello, sorry, I don't know the cure for this, but as a photographer you might have a look at Tr-Catalog, where you can choose the size thumbnail/icon/detail...

  • Audio tracks are lost after importing from iMovie...

After importing my movie from iMovie I lost my audio tracks. What is the problem ?

    Hello kropacd (and Karsten;)):
I realize at this late time that this will be a pain..but you might want to try to extract your audio prior to exporting (sharing) to iDVD to se if that helps...
The only other thing I can imagine is that you used 12-bit audio in your video instead of 16-bit? It really needs to be 16-bit-check the setting on your camera.

  • Sliced Images are Broken after Converting HTML into a PDF

I am trying to create a PDF of a webpage and after Acrobat converts it, the page is broken apart in multiple pieces. I noticed that this is happening to images that are sliced. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening?
    Thanks!

Just to clarify, I only want a PDF image of the web page -no functionality of it. The equivalent of a "print-screen" of the page without the IE window/toolbar etc. I need to have it in PDF format for printing purposes.
ASP code is also appearing in the PDF and I don't want this to occur.

  • RAW images are "locked"when imported into LR

I just got a new camera (Sony alpha 6000) and all my RAW images that I attempt to import into LR 4.4 are "locked" and therefore, cannot be imported.
When I click on the photo in my HD file and look at the "Get Info" the photo is not "locked".
Can't find any setting on my camera that shows the photo as "locked".  Anyone know if this is a LR problem or a Sony problem?
I have a Nikon D40 that has no problem uploading RAW images to my LR 4.4.
    Thanks for any help!!

Sony Alpha 6000 raw files require at least Lightroom 5.4.
You would need to upgrade Lightroom, or use the free Adobe DNG converter version 8.6 to convert your RAWs to DNG and then import those into Lightroom.

  • My vector (flattened) images are pixellated when imported in Illustrator. How do I fix this?

    Hello.
I am experiencing an issue in Adobe Illustrator.
When attempting to import picture files in Illustrator from PhotoShop, the image appears blurred/pixellated. The image (a .psd file) is converted in Illustrator to a .ai file. I create vector (flattened) images in PhotoShop, which should maintain their picture clarity and quality regardless of what program the vectored image is opened with. Somehow, they are becoming pixellated when converted to .ai files in Illustrator.
I use both Adobe CS6 and Adobe Creative Cloud
Is there a setting or solution that I can implement to rectify this issue?
Many thanks in advance for everyone's input and assistance.

    Hello, Doug and John.
Thank you for your replies and for providing feedback.
I am aware that vector format files are only for illustrator. However, I believe you can make a smart object in photoshop using the vector art and it will keep its vector file format in photoshop allowing it to not pixelate.
I would be more interested in seeing if uninstalling and reinstalling the programs would have anything to do with it and also trying to find the settings. Would anyone happen to know if this will resolve the issue? I am hoping this is correct forum in which to post this topic/issue.
Thank you again for your help.

  • LR2.3 images too bright after import even with flat or no development opt. checked

Hi, was always experiencing too dark prints from LR in different version (currently I have 2.3 installed), done all screen calibrations whatsoever, and now that I tried to get to the bottom of the issue, I found that LR seems to brigten up images even though no processing option is welcome nor checked at all. Did some research with a particular image that exhibited a difference in brightness in comparision with CS4 (on a different PC) and PSE5 o nthe same machine of estimated 2EV. Upon correction in LR however, colors and the histogram already got distorted, so no real option here. How can I tell LR to import stuff exactly as it was shot? Any hint is greatly appreciated.
I'm not suppying any attachment to illustrate the issue now as I hope it is known (although during my recent reaseach in the internet, I only found a singly reference, that  dind' help much further...).
    Thanks, Kai

In the menu bar go to
    Edit>Preferences>Presets> tab>Default Settings>
make sure "Apply auto tone adjustments is not checked."

Photos on my ipad 2, which I transfered from my camera where all good, until recently some of them turned blurry, out of focus and are unusable. I can't even use them to upload on a website, because a good  website won't except a bad quality picture (or even my piccollage app and such...) what happened to my pictures and how can I fix them?

  • Images are desaturated after being worked on in Camera Raw

Ok here's what I did. I'm working on processing 100 Jpeg pictures and I loved how quick Camera Raw was so I did all the corrections in there and hit done. I later went back and opened them all again and saved all the changes. They looked great. I closed bridge and opened Windows Explorer but when I opened the files from there they were extremely desaturated and just plain ugly.
Any ideas? Images look great in Bridge and PS but terrible everywhere else.
Details: OS: Windows XP. Adobe CS3 Design Standard. All programs up to date. Monitor callibrated.
Whoever can solve this one will be my hero. :)

Ok I found the spot to change it and the images look great! Thank you so much everyone. In case anyone else is reading this with the same problem here are the steps I took:
Open the jpeg image in ACR.
    Make the changes you want.
At the bottom of the ACR window there is a highlighted link that says something like "Adobe RGB (1998); 8 bit; 3008 by 2000 (6.0MP); 240ppi"
Click on this like and change the "Space" drop down box from "Adobe RGB" to "sRGB."
When this change is made, go ahead and save it like normal.
Now the image looks the way it did in ACR in all other programs.
    IM SO HAPPY!!!!! :)

  • Photos are blurry after import

I just downloaded Aperture.  All photos have been imported from iPhoto and looked fine.  I closed Aperture, re-opened and now the photos are blurry (the thumbnails are clear).  I can't make photo adjustments because it says offline.  What am I doing wrong here?  Why did it work prior to closing and re-opening the program?

How did you import from iPhoto?
The correct way would be as outlined here:
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/aperture/usermanual/#chapter=4%26section=10
Also check to see what your Preview size and quality are set to in Aperture Preferences (using Quality '8' and the resolution of your monitor - marked with an asterisk - should work well).
