Images aren't showing because of errors, but I want them shown anyway.

So, certain web images aren't showing because they contain errors. I don't care about the errors- I want to see the images anyway. Is there a way that I can get Firefox to do this WITHOUT having to reinstall it? Thanks.

Note that the message that the "image can't be displayed" is actually a placeholder message that Firefox shows as long as the full image hasn't been loaded from the server.
You can reset user set (bold) network.http.* prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page via the right-click context menu to the default value.
If images are missing or corrupted then check that you do not block images from some domains.
*Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the hidden Menu bar.
Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images
*Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
*If an image in the list is grayed and "<i>Block Images from...</i>" has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain.
Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the <b>permissions.default.image</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page should be 1.
Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
Note that these settings affect background images.

There are extensions like Adblock Plus (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images and other content.

  • Images Aren't Showing Up In Flash

My images aren't showing in my .swf file and they used to work.  I was wondering what happened.  Some help would be greatly appreciated.  Also wondering if there is a way to save a .swf file back as a flash file, I tried recreating the work that was done prior from the flashmo file (http://www.flashmo.com/preview/flashmo_183_photo_rotator) but was unable to duplicate the look.

That template that you used uses an XML file to tell the Flash movie which image files to use and where they are. This Flash movie requires that you have a folder named "photos" right next to the .swf file.
When you download the template zip file from flashmo.com, you will get a folder with all of the necessary files including the original .fla file. An important concept to remember is that the names, and the capitalization of those names, are critical to the success of a schema like this. The .swf file is looking for a folder named "photos". On some servers, if the folder is named "Photos", it won't be used. Don't include spaces in the names of your image files. When you are uploading the files to your server, be sure to upload the .swf and the image files as data and not as text.

Your Apple ID can be associated with up to 10 devices, including iOS devices, computers and Apple TV(s).  If you will still be within this limit, you can continue to share the ID across all your devices.  A caution about sharing your iCloud account, however: when you share an account any data you sync with the account is merged and the merged data appears on all devices sharing the account.  You may, for example, end up with each other's contacts and calendar events on your devices if you do this.
It's usually recommended that you share your iTunes account, but maintain separate iCloud accounts, as well as use different IDs for iMessage and FaceTime (to avoid getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls).  Note: the ID you use for iTunes purchasing does not need to be the same as the ID you use for other services such as iCloud, iMessage or FaceTime.  This article may be of interest in this regard: http://www.macstories.net/stories/ios-5-icloud-tips-sharing-an-apple-id-with-you r-family/.

  • My Images Aren't showing

    Hi Guys,
I have just got my copy of dreamweaver from a fellow user on

My images are in the same folder as my webpages so I can't
understand why they are not working.
    Please help!

    >banner at the top
    You have banner.png.
The name "banner" is frequently blocked (ad popups etc). I
    suggest you
    rename them.
Something else, you have spaces in folder/filenames - I'd use
    underscore
instead (Style Sheets/Copyright.css), much safer. You also
    have used upper
and lower case in filenames - again, safer to stick to lower
    case.

  • Imported songs are listed by artist but I want them listed by album. How?

Whenever I import an album, iTuneswill save it in a folder named afterthe artist, but I want iTunes to create a new folder by album name instead. Anyone able to help me fix this, if it's possible?

If you've enabled "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" in iTunes Preferences Advanced General iTunes will create a folder "ArtistName" with subfolders "Album" - no way to change this behaviour, except disabling this feature and creating a structure manually.

  • Images No Longer Showing in Design View but Work Online

Here is the live site that works - http://www.drinkupsandiego.com
Everything works in the live site and it has been up and running for a couple of years.  I went to modify the site today in DW CC and none of the images showed up.  I noticed that the site was not defined so I did this by adding a new site and defining the root folder.  Still no images.  So I look at the assets on the right side of DW and it shows that the image folder is now called "images.jpg" instead of the correct "images" name.  If I go into my documents the folder "images.jpg" does not exist.  I then clicked on one of the broken images and selected the correct folder. The image showed up but when I look at the code it is now "<img src="images.jpg/.....>".  Again, that folder does not exist in my documents.  I went back to the site definition and clicked on advanced and identified the folder for images as "images" but when I click on it it comes back as "images.jpg"  I am baffled - I know this has to be some sort of silly fix so thank you in advance for anyone who can help.

Odd, I just moved all the files in the assets section from "images.jpg" to "images" and it all works.  But I am still baffled why DW created a separate folder.

  • My Exchange Calendar shows an "Exclamation Error" but there is no detail when I click it.

    OSX 10.8.2
Added an Exchange Account through the wizard, Calendar worked for a number of months but stopped some time recently.
Perhaps when I did a password change.
Perhaps when I upgraded to Outlook 2013 on my work PC
Updated my password, Mail works, Contacts work, but Calendar does not sync.  Small Exclamation Mark does not show error when clicked so I can't tell what the real problem it.  Tried to remove and re-add the account, same issue.
Checked out the Console logs and it throws these three errors below.  There is something with the "LegacyFreeBusyStatus" that is causing the sync to fail.  Outlook 2013 has a new status of "working somewhere else".  I had used it for a few items.  I also found an item that had a Null status (like what it is pointing to in the error).  Removed that item and changed all the others to a valid stauts for previous versions of outlook.  ie. Free, Busy, etc.

    Whaoo,
Looks like all I needed to do was ask the question and I would answer it.
It is definitely the outlook 2013 calendar item that had the new status.  Even though I changed the item to a valid status, I needed to completely remove the item and add it back in with a valid legacy status from the start.

  • My animate file seems to work fine locally, but the images aren't linked properly when I publish and post them to a web server.

I have an HTML5 animation that I am working on. When I preview it locally, it seems to work fine, but when I publish and post it on our web server, it doesn't seem to be able to find the images. The images are all in the images folder and it all seems to be pointing the right location, but it isn't showing up properly on the web server.
If anyone has any insight, I would greatly appreciate it.

The site runs fine offline. If I am watching it locally, it seems to be OK. The problem only occurs when I copy all of the content to the host. I have also checked to be sure that the images are in the correct folder and uploaded.
Here is one of the images that is definitely live, but is showing as unlinked/missing in the HTML5 version.
