Images attached do not resize properly to S,M,L

On my IMac, with Snow Leopard, when I attempt to attach a jpeg file (for instance, a 1.6 MB file), the following sizes are what I get:
S - 38 KB, M - 58 KB, L - 58 KB, Actual - 2.0 MB (as you can see, NO difference in size between the Medium and Large files - and both are pretty small)
On my MacBook, with Leopard, attaching images and sizing seems to work fine. Here are the resulting sizes when I attached the exact same file as above:
S - 131 KB, M - 446 KB, L - 1.5 MB, and Actual - 2.0 MB

i think images needs to be in rgb mode, so you can view it correctly in browsers or in email apps.

Images in button not shown properly

I have imported a quicktime file which was exported from FCP. The final cut portion is strictly jpeg files, no movies. I have made chapter markers in FCP. So in DVD Studio Pro, I created a button and chapter index, then selected a template. When I go to the menu(s) with chapters, the chapters are all correct. However, the photos in the button are not resized properly. Most of the heads are cut off. I have the button set with motion but turned it off and still photos not correct. How can I make DVD Studio Pro resize the photos properly? I right click the chapter button (it is not a drop zone), the option for align objects and distribute objects is not available. I am unable to click on it, thinking that is what I need to change. Any suggestions in how to get the photos to show completely in the button and not be cut off? I am very knew at this, only my second project, so please explain in detail.

Images not resizing properly when relinking/updating

Hi all,
I'm currently using InDesign CS on OS10.5.5
Until last week, I was using CS on OS10.4.?
Can anyone tell me if the reason my images no longer update/relink to the correct size in InDesign is an issue with running cronky old CS on Leopard?
I know this feature is an option in CS3 or later but I can find no reference to it for earlier versions and I'm wondering how come it did this in the first place. I never used to have to manually enlarge images back to 100% in InDesign after resizing them (in Photoshop).
I always resize my images down to the size they appear on the page for two reasons: 1) To prevent problems in PDF distilling and 2) To keep archive space usage down.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

What is the slide quality? Default setting is Low (8-bit), depending on your JPEG-image quality this may be too low. Try to change to High or Optimized and see if this is better.

Mail attachment (pdf) not showing properly as preview

Just recently I've received a pdf attachment that showed some (hidden) layers visible in preview. Opening it in Acrobat reader shows no problem.
Other computers and systems in the company also handle the file properly. No one else sees it the way I see it on my computer.

Sorry you're having this problem. I think it was previously reported only by Windows XP users.
When you reinstall, were you making Firefox your default browser? Some users have reported that ''not'' making Firefox the default browser was an effective workaround.
However, you may have success with this approach, suggested by a user in another thread, which appears to more thoroughly update the Windows registry:
# Open Adobe Reader / Acrobat
# Edit->Preferences
# In the Categories column click 'General'
# Near the bottom of the page click the button marked 'Select Default PDF Handler'
# In the dialog, select 'Adobe Reader XI' (or Adobe Acrobat, as the case may be) and click 'Apply'
# A Windows Configuration screen will appear. Allow it to do its stuff (takes a few minutes), then restart your computer when prompted.
Does that resolve the issue for you?

Stroke width not resizing properly

I have been using Photoshop Elements for many years now (curently have version 5) and decided to download a trial of Illustrator. I have never worked with vectors before, but I'm in love with this program. I can finally draw like I always wanted to without all the tedious cleanup work!
The only thing that's stumping me is how to resize an image without all of the outlines not sizing up with the rest of the image. In the picture below on the left is the original image and the right is after it has been resized. All of the black outlines are out of proportion on the resized one. His legs and arms are too small, his freckles have shrank, etc.
Is there a way to have it retain the proper proportions when resizing, or is it nessasairy to change them all by hand after it has been resized?

Rectangle fill not resizing properly

So I've built this website that is a series of rectangles scrolling over each other - Home. The first rectangle contains an image fill. The fitting is "Scale To Fill" and the position is top center. My issue is that when I view the website in a browser and resize the browser window vertically, the image resizes with it. This should no be happening. The image should only resize when the shape of the rectangle changes, not the shape of the browser window. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

More info: To achieve my scrolling fx I've got scroll motion activated on the fill of the rectangle with all values set to 0. My issue appears to be related to this. When I turn off the scroll motion my issue goes away.

Automate / Batch cropping 1000 images... not working properly

Hi all,
I may just be missing something here. If I open an image in photoshop and crop it, the image shows up at the new cropped size and I can then save the new image. I have 1000 people images with all different sizes but the same ratio. My hope is to create an action that crops a photo to a standard size and then saves into another folder.
So I started my new action and did the crop and saved. Then I ran this action using automate and batch. The processing does happen but the images are cropped and then remain in a black box the size of the original photo. This is a problem for me... I only want to see the resized photo.
Any idea where I'm going wrong?

The image processor wll still need an action for it does not crop. The Image Processor also can not replace the original files. If all images are the same size and aspect ratio to begin with it would be easy to create an action to do the crop. Best done with the rectangle selection to and image crop. Only those two steps would be needed in the adtion. Once you have recorded the action it can batch. Set the batch dialog to process you folder of same size images and have it save over the original files or save in a new filder. No save is needed in the action.
If images vary in size and aspect ratio you would need to some plugins or scripts in an action. You can download my crafting actions package it contains a couple of plug-in scripts that are useful for croping images.

Finder Window Size Issues (not resizing properly)

everytime I open a window in the finder it opens and I drag to resize and then close. I reopen the folder and its size is wrong not what I just resized to. This happens on every finder window not opening how I resized it. Any clues?

This has been pet peeve of mine for years. Apple invented windows, but it seems to be the only developer which is incapable of programming the operation of this basic interface correctly. Even Microsoft Windoze got this right when they stole the concept. When you hit the resize button in a Microsoft application the window does the same thing - every time, while every Macintosh application acts differently when you click the green button...very annoying, to say the least.

Video Not Resizing Properly on Share

I have a 720p (1280 by 720) video that I'm adding a watermark too. I have the entire thing setup, but after I use the Share function to create a 720p HD MPEG, the video shows up with letterboxing all around it.
Why is the video being shrunk down (scale wise) on output and not perfectly fitting the new 720p video?

What preset have you selected for your Premiere Elements project, Ryan?
In version 8, there is a setting for 1280x720 video. As I say in the Basic Training for Premiere Elements tutorials at Premiere Elements support site Muvipix.com, your project settings must match your source footage.
If your project preset matches your source footage, you should get 16:9 output using one of the standard Share presets.
But not all footage works successfully in Premiere Elements. Video from still cameras and from pocket camcorders, per the FAQs to the right of this forum, often don't interpret correctly.

SkinableContainer not resizing properly

I have a SkinableContainer with a few buttons. Initially one of the buttons is hidden and not included into Layout.When it becomes visible the container is getting wider but not wide enough.
What would a generic way be of adjusting the width?

Image display control scrolling does not work properly when zoomed in

I am using a ROI on an image in the image display control. When zooming into the image to fine-adjust the positioning of the ROI, the image scrolling does not work properly. As far as I understand, the image should scroll automatically when the ROI is leaving the visible area. However, the scrolling behaviour seems to depend on the origin of the Labview panel, not the origin of the image display control, which might require to move the ROI way out of the visible area before the scrolling takes place. In other words: the coordinate system of the image display control is shifted with respect to the true visible image area, depending on where you place it on the front panel. As a consequence, when clicking on a ROI which is in the visible area, but is outside of what Labview thinks is the visible area, it might immediately jump to the left border of the image, making the positioning of the ROI really difficult.
Has anyone noticed this behaviour, and what would be a reliable solution to avoid this?

Hello,
no, I am not talking about the tools palette. Just place an image control with some image in it on a new VI front panel. Then, use the rectangle from the tools and select a ROI in the image. If you zoom in (using the magnification glass), and then grab the ROI and move it around, the image scroll with the ROI. So far, so good. If you now place the image control elsewhere on the panel, or add new control above it, resize the panel, etc. , this scrolling when moving the ROI will not work correctly if the origin (0,0) of the panel is far away from the image control.
I have attached a VI for simplicity (although there is hardly any code in it).
If you make a ROI and try to move it down, you will notice that scrolling starts if you move the mouse out to about 10cms below the image (depens on your screen, of course). After that, if you click on the ROI, the scroll bars and ROI might jump up to the upper end of the image. Imagine how annoying this is if you try to finely adjust the ROI position.
I think it is a bug in the implementation of the image display control.

Datagrid within Datagrid - Rows not resizing to fit content

Hi,
I have a datagrid with a custom item renderer that renders another data grid... so one column will render datagrids within the outer datagrid. The problem is that the row does not size to fit the inner datagrid. I can't set the rowHeight on the outer datagrid because the inner datagrids have dynamic data and i don't know how many rows they will have. Also, after the datagrid is rendered, more rows may be added to any number of inner datagrids at a later time... and I need the rows holding them to resize accordingly. Setting variableRowHeight=true on the outer grid doesn't seem to help either.
Any ideas on how to do this?

Hi, Alex, thanks for the info. It turns out, I was wrong. The way it looked made me think it was a row-resizing problem, but it turns out that the rows were resizing fine... it was the outer datagrid itself that was not resizing properly. Apparently it has to do with the combination of variableRowHeight and rowCount. The jira issue may look familiar to you.

I want to build android application using existing desktop dimension fla files. so for this I am resizing existing desktop dimension fla files to mobile dimension files but during resizing some files are resizing properly but most of the files the content

                  In one post I saw that by copying frames in movie clip we can adjust with stage . I did this and made an application but the swf's which are following the movieclip resized swf are going out of stage
development tool : adobe flash professsional cc
extension : air for android 16
original file dimension: 800 * 600 px
new dimension required is : 2650 * 1600 px ( to get full screen view)
                                       anyone please suggest me to solve this problem
when I resized using copy frames in movie clip the output swf is coming with white screen . If I played with package it coming properly but the files which are following this are going out of stage

Some Web Sites do not open properly in Safari 5.1

Hi community!
First of all let me mention that I switched from PC to Mac last week after getting bored with PCs! So please be tolerant with a newbee :-) And so far so good, the experience is fantastic! (btw I have a MacBook Pro 13.3, core i5 with Leopard and Safari 5.1). Until this issue appeared...
In Safari some Sites do not open properly. Some take ages and images do not appear (for instance www.pokerlistings.com, www.lecho.be). I browsed the various discussions to find some tips, tried a few tricks (repair permissions, close all plugins, reinstall Safari...) but nothing worked. I then tried to install the latest Firefox browser but I have exactly the same problem so I guess it has nothing to do with Safari and must be my system.
Anyone could help me here?

Thanks but it's not a problem of connexion. The bulk of the sites open properly, just some do not load images or do not open properly (only text as on some mobile devices). I tried everything I found on this forum - changing user, disabling plugins, reinstall, change preferences... nothing works. Really annoying
